Didn't Control4 just come out with their own receptacle outlets?  Has anybody had experience with them yet?

They work great but are switched only. I use them for my Christmas Tree and a dedicated socket for a large 'Star' decoration that I made that has a preset RGB cycle and just needs to be turned on and off.

Also great choice for landscape lighting that uses low voltage LED with a transformer that plugs in and many other applications.

But for lamps, I prefer using either Hue Bulbs (others may work, just no personal experience) or if it's a lamp that you can't change the bulb in :

With lamps, the issue is you may want to put them 'right there' now, but if you change your mind later and you want them 'over there'..... just easier to adapt the lamp vs the socket at that point.

All very good points folks. Thanks very much. I do agree that the smart bulbs over the sockets would be the better option. Flexibility and the ability to move the lamps.

What driver combination do you find most usefull for Phillips hue and C4?

Id want to make sure i give the client best use of scenes.
