ElectroMagnetic Locks For Pella Glass Sliding Doors

Jbbrenner90

Question

We have a pool house with 6 single glass sliding doors. WIres were run and drilled through the top jam of the door on the inside for electro-magnetic locks but now we are having issues finding the proper way to do it.  Has anyone put electromagnetic locks or some type of lock control on sliding glass doors. Our entire house is keyless so the thought of having to get keys to get in and out of our pool house is very annoying.

the proper way is to use an access control system. There is a lot to cover here that is not easily answered in the forums. Life and safety are at risk if not done properly.

Definitely this. Also, battery backups, etc. If this provides immediate access to a pool, here in Australia, I'm not even sure if it would be legal (but not 100%)

Indeed, or fail-safe open locks. Mag locks are fantastic devices as such, but care MUST be taken that there is always a safety override to get in and out of a room.

V-Locks.. would be another option

But this all sounds a bit like a liability tbh.. If power gets cut with Electromagnetic releasing the door, and someone drowns in the pool, instant lawsuit (unless you have another fence at the pool)

If the Vlock fails and can't lock properly and someone drowns, instant lawsuit, etc (unless you have another fence at the pool).

There isn't really enough information imho, and not sure what is meant by "slides on outside". Here in Australia, I'm not sure what is meant by Pella doors either

Clients always want a lot of things though, but, just remember if the solution fails or is unreliable, you'll likely be the one to get the phone call (or the blame).

This in no small part - there is a surprising amount to consider here. NOW I can't see any video on what you posted, just audio. In some case s a 'poolhouse' is actually a building that is NEXT to a pool (with a shower, dressing room and all to often used as a guest suite) so some if this may simply not apply.
