  1. +1 It's worth checking out the DTI driver. easily works in a docker container too.
  2. @PaulAV9 don’t hate c4….. you actually have one of the most confusing things going. with Bluesound node and Roon there are 2 ways to play Roon. 1. Bluesound way. (I think you’re doing it). As you know Bluesound has c4 drivers. And mini drivers. The mini driver selects the stream (xm, tidal, Spotify, Roon, etc). If you select Roon either from the Bluesound main driver or mini, I believe you need to use either Roon itself or go into the Bluesound app to select Roon music. 2 the C4 Roon way. This uses the loudoun as an endpoint and just talks to the Roon server to select music. Roon app is not needed at all hopefully this helps your dealer on how to set it up.
  3. So if he used the Roon Zone driver and has all the settings right, you should see this: I can actually work through my roon menu directly. It looks like he has you selecting everything through the bluesound
  4. have your dealer install the roon driver for c4: https://github.com/RoonLabs/control4-roon-driver
  5. Can you define "new systems"? Does that mean something like a core 6 is coming out, or if I add a core 5 to my existing or just for new customers?
  6. I read through the thread, so forgive me if I'm asking something that should have been obvious..... I got my system 15 years ago. Through the years, I've added components, and my dealer typically upgrades the system for free. I don't pay anything else, as i don't really use the remote access. Moving forward, am I going to be forced to get connect? What I read online seems to indicate if I wanted my system upgraded when new features come out (whatever they may be) will Il need connect... so kinda 3.4 to 4.0??? Outside of that is it the same as usual? Or can my dealer still upgrade the system?
  7. I'd be interested to know how the interface functions, is it all on C4 or phone or both? I have Roon, so for the cost of autonomic it made more sense to get tidal at this point, but still curious since we still have apple music too.
  8. WiiM is still via airplay per google (i was hoping). Not sure Tesla has a model that connects in the house either..... Eversolo isn't that cheap either. But yes, I think it would be very nice to have Apple Music. I ended up getting Tidal, as it integrates nicely. If you have roon, even better.
  9. I don't think you need HE to favorite anything. Very easy from either a touch panel or ipad. Long press allows favorite to room screen.
  10. That's it. Glad you found it, I totally forgot the drivers are on git now. the driver labeled core is the server and the other goes in every room you stream to. (only 1 blusound usually means only 1 driver). I was also thinking of adding another bluesound (would be the third) or pi to get coax/fiber connection to my processor - right now i just go room to Heos which does provide hi-res, and could recommend how to if you had a Heos reciever in the house too. How do you like that Anthem? I almost went with 90 8k and was excited they talked about Roon integration - which never happened but ended up with the AV10 now that it added Dirac. Once the C4 roon is set, you can also favorite music too. Good luck.
  11. I also use Roon and there are a few ways to have it work. I use the bluesound node too. If you search this board, I had written up the connection scenarios for Roon when my memory was clear. The first thing you want to do is have your installer use the Roon drivers. This will allow you to control the music selection through Control4. There are 2 drivers, one for the server and one for every room you will stream to. Without it you'd probably be selecting the node as your device, then selecting ROON for the node playback (actually think the blusound will autoselect roon when playing roon), then going to the Roon app to select the music. The control4 driver also works with the roon app, so if you're like me, you might go to the control4 display and select roon but later control future music selections from the roon app. Hope that helps for now. PS....you can contol voume from contol4. PSS..make sure the blusound is set up correctly first, if something like siriusXM or Airplay from the bluesound isn't working, don't expect Roon to.
  12. I've never been happy with SiriusXM through C4. I use the bluesound node and not only is the sound better, I'm having no problems with Sirius and get all the extended channels.
  13. I just got the M3 in black, and I thought that was super fast, can't imagine the how much faster the pro max could get. The black is such a cool color for the macbook!
  14. I have a bunch of Macs, and haven't seen this at all. Have you only been working wireless? If so can you try a wired connection and see if it makes a difference?
  15. Got it working, Needed to use "Set state to OFF" vs Deactivate Lighting Scene.
  16. Not sure this is possible, but set up a holiday scene - it works via the button. However I set up 2 scheduler agents. the first called XMAS ON just sets the state to ON for the UI Button. And XMAS OFF sets the state to OFF. It's not working, so I might have missed this, Can I not set a schedule for the state of a UI button? How should i do this?
  17. KISS is no reason to think your industry sucks at networking. If anything, it's the folks who don't know how to keep it simple, or just use networking features for no logical reason, maybe because they were taught that way, that are probably screwing up the networking.
  18. VLANs probably aren't needed in homes, whether they're managed correctly or incorrectly. There are just not many use cases for them at home.
  19. I 2nd the thought. If you're running 1GE+ at home, I don't see the need for VLANs.
  20. VLANs are layer 2. FWs are layer 3 ACLs are firewall rules applied to a router or switch and are layer 2 and 3. Each has a reason to be used and they don't replace each other.
  21. Why do you call this sdwan? What device? what routing protocols back to the isps? do you actually have a wan?
  22. Probably won't see much, especially since the home users probably won't have any SDWAN running. That aside, it shouldn't be a problem, but what are you doing that you ask?
  23. Docker on a Synology NAS working nicely. Just do the simple install for homebridge for docker. Turned out DTI had to update their driver for older C4 Light Switchs...yeh mine are that old..... within 24 hours they had me a new driver and I'm up and running. Their solution seems to be a LOT faster than i expected as far as response time.
  24. Nevermind, I just found the "Auto Setup Outlet Light Devices" under actions. Chowmain is amazing......
