  1. 10g non-blocking switches with a lot of ports are ungodly expensive. You won’t see them in homes or most businesses any time soon.
  2. there is. a big difference if you are moving files or even updating metadata (especially adding album covers). I didn't do 10G just for roon, but it does make a difference on certain use cases. As for steaming, there's no difference. (unless i had a few hundred users). should add, just because it still works on 1G doesn't mean you don't need 10G...... heck it works on FE....
  3. I'm using all Unifi these days. works nicely for me. I always loved KScape, it just got far too expensive for me. I started back before BR discs and was spending $1K per TB.... went to Plex and never looked back. But do love KScape!
  4. I have a similar use case. For ME I went 10G between the NASes, Servers, and my PC. The router is also connected to the 10G and out of the WAN via 1G. Unfortunately for photos, my wife is suffering through wifi. my roon files are on a NAS, and the 10G makes a difference - especially if I edit metadata of files.
  5. That KSCAPE is another reason for the faster internet. For those nights you have to DL before watching it will definitely save a lot of time!
  6. If you're working from home and sending files (especially larger ones), I'm all in for more Internet speed...depending on where you are, it can be relatively cheap and makes a big difference. HOWEVER, most a lot of "home" routers are a bottleneck - check your internet speed, if you're not getting nearly 1G now, upgrading beyond 1G may be limited on your router. When I went to 1G fios I had to change my unifi router, got the UDM-PRO and wouldn't be able to use it for more than 1G. If FIOS ever goes 2G in my area i'll probably go DIY FW. And if your NAS & PCs support 10G....it makes a difference moving files around a LOT faster and a nice core for the 2.5G WIFI connections. The Roon stream isn't much BW to worry about (Shout out I love the new ARC in the car).
  7. Can we assume you did the AVM too? It looks like it has your mark in the driver: <creator>Chowmain Ltd</creator> This is good news, I was considering an upgrade to the AVM 70 8K.
  8. I have both unify, many appletvs including the new 4k, unfortunately I don't use amazon music but here are some suggestions: Is your AppleTV using only wireless? Make sure you have DNS@ as static. (EA5, router, etc. default from the carrier in homes suck) in unifi management under global network settings, select IPv6 Support if its not already. (not the same as the wan interface). good luck.....
  9. @MSUK If you're using Spotify, I would use Spotify Connect NOT Sharebridge, especially since you mentioned you want to improve the integration with c4
  10. Having just got the remote, I would say it's a bit confusing not having a hybrid approach, especially if you're used to one-handed remotes. I think it would have been beneficial if you selected "watch" when the options showed up, you can either pick on the screen or use the D-button to navigate and select.
  11. i think this is the problem..... go into your apple tv settings. if memory serves, you need to turn on 3rd party remote and give the room a name.
  12. actually depends on the panel and connection type.
  13. sounds like you need to select the room for the appletv in the driver under "Apple TV Selector" mine is version 50..... could you be using the wrong driver?
  14. you answered your own problem....just call the alarm company and tell them to stop. they either connect via the phone line, internet or cellular....you can remove the connections.
  15. Are you sure? Right now the mini app looks like its trying to load the old app (HBO MAX) which gives and error. I've installed MAX, which is the new app but the mini doesn't load it at all.
  16. I might have missed something, but is there a mini driver for MAX (what was HBO or HBO MAX)? thanks
  17. I'd check out https://soundiiz.com for moving playlists around. I just signed up for tidal, and used it to move all my apple and spotify over. the AI Playlist was also a nice touch. I signed up for a month for $5 moved everything, done.
  18. Sounds like they only play the AAC but not ALAC....what a waste for that type of money.
  19. Never heard of them till now...great timing as we've been looking for a bedroom replacement for some time... all that said, do you know: how do they compare in general to big ass fans? how do they compare to BAF in price? thanks.
  20. I wouldn't say crap, but in that world of Juniper, Palo, Fortinet and Cisco, there's no need for UI. Not to mention the need for features UI doesn't have.
  21. I just installed this driver. In the documentation, it shows WIFI connections, but when I go to connections WIFI isn't listed. Is anyone else seeing this?
  22. When in doubt replace the controller with another Core 3..... if that doesn't randomly reboot, the problem solved.
  23. I'm curious how you got it to work on the 800?
  24. Your right. but having everything in unify space is so nice.
