  1. Mitch, please....... MOST apps are as simple as hitting a check box in Xcode and recompiling. There are a few reported issues with how applications are displaying on the screen causing some more modifications. The main point is, tools are available for C4 to move forward and provide a MacOS working client without developing from scratch.
  2. Me too I'll stream from the phone until it's native. Don't tell, but I also have SirusXM on my C4.
  3. Sometimes the API is only as good as the feedback through the development cycle. It's hard to place blame...a lot of times the problem is simply a developer calling the API in an unexpected way causing random problems. Somethings it's the API. Hard to say who's at fault not being part of the development team. That said, I run 4 appleTVs at home, have the latest IP drivers and haven't had any problems with the latest apple SW releases. (fingers crossed I didn't curse myself). It have had a few remove disconnect then connect notices on screen. HomeKit has been slowly developing, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the behind the scene development cycles caused problems.
  4. How long before we see a Mac Catalyst version of the iOS App?
  5. you can download IP Scanner from the Mac app Store. There's a free version. If you're not seeing other devices when you have a problem, good chance the switch is bad. If your Mac is a wireless connection, there is a chance the wireless is having a problem.
  6. if you know your IP address of your router, probably 10.0.1.1 or 192.168.1.1 go to a DOS prompt in windows or terminal on Mac and type "ping" followed by the address. If it responds, awesome. There's also a few free tools you could always download. Google network scanner.
  7. Based on everything you said, and the fact you didn't have the POE/Camera prior to the first outage, it could be a switch going bad. Did you change that yet? When you have the outage, have you tried to ping your router and other devices on the network? Good sign its a switch problem when you can't.
  8. So your dilemma seems to be you basically have 4 rooms of TV and you're looking at a lot of equipment so costs are high. We have a couple of rooms where the TV is IP enabled. We also use Apple TV too. I no longer use any controller in those rooms, since there are no physical connection (we've never used the onscreen menu either). So in your case....maybe look at what you really need to control everything. I assume the above isn't the list for the entire project, but a price list??? If it's the list to upgrade, get a better dealer who wants to understand and help. PS....I basically have 1xEA3 and 2xEA1 to control 30 lights, alarm, whole home audio, and 5 TV's (one is a home theater). one of the EA1s is used to extend the zigbee to my pool house, could have used a CA1, but spent a bit more for possible future needs...... My original system was an 1000/800 3xHC300, 2xHC250s....so I've upgraded and scaled back a bit after thinking about things more carefully and moving to IP based devices (TVs). This is a 10+ yo system....
  9. I broke out into multiple zigbee servers....had one, now 3. Seems Yale is very sensitive to having a very good signal.
  10. I've had what sounds like the same problem. It turned out to be a weak zigbee connection. Once I redid the entire home's zigbee they started to work.
  11. Depending on your firewall/Router, consider a VPN instead. MUCH MUCH safer.
  12. I really really really hope, but not holding my breath.
  13. I can't say I've had any reliability issues in the past. I probably just cursed it.
  14. its fast, noticeably faster. But slower than HomeKit, so I wouldn't go as Really-Fast.
  15. see if you can change the channels. things like this also happen with conflicts.
  16. These should be good APs and very popular. I'd first make sure your Cisco is running latest SW versions and all the setting for roaming are selected. You didn't say, but is each AP hard wired back to a switch?
  17. if you tie it into Control4, you have a number of ways to access. Native Ecobee app, Ecobee Webpage or Control4. All work remotely, assuming you have C4 subscription. Ecobee doesn't need a subscription for remote access.
  18. Ecobee looks better (IMHO), Has more settings and is Saving me money over time vs control4 (some will argue this). The savings easily paid for driver.
  19. Well if you're going to add 4K to an EA, please add Plex
  20. Instead of relying on the door's auto lock, why not create a new timer in composer? Remember that timer is there for people who don't have control4 too. So every X minutes composer will lock the door IF door is closed. You can even expand this further depending on needs....We stay out in the yard late at night so you can lock all doors under the timer but no the backyard if people are present and lights are on.
  21. I'm using Gen3 and 4k. So far so good. One of the earlier betas required random resets to connect my 260 remote for the 4K. I still have to test todays beta, fingers crossed. Strangely Gen3 seem to be the most stable for me. You might try removing all your C4 drivers, change the name of the apple device's airplay name and reinstall.
  22. what I am saying is it's not the job of a firewall to block or allow traffic between VLANs. Or at least that is what I meant to say. Need coffee....
  23. I might have read your original post in haste. I thought you said the function is what allows crossing VLANs. Let's take VLANs out of the discussion. The Allowed Networks function basically allows the composer to communicate with devices on different subnets, nothing more. Your network infrastructure (whither using VLANS or not) still needs to provide the routing.
