mstafford388 got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in New Apple TV 4k IP driver out today
My two cents....let's not start controversy over something that is purely speculation at this point. The HCs have limitations due to being flash vs android, and there will absolutely be fatures that work on one but not the other, but the 800 is still a killer controller.

EA1 was designed to be a single room controller. EA3 is really more designed for what you want to do.

mstafford388 got a reaction from msgreenf in Google Home Support / OR LACK THEREOF
For what it's worth Charlie Kindle has stated on social media that while he lurks and looks at information/thoughts/ideas he won't chime in much as the VP of products getting involved in those things just isn't scale-able. It would be awesome if he could respond to all of that stuff but I think expecting him to is a bit unfair as there are hundreds of thousands of C4 users. This is why Control4 stresses the dealer model as your dealer should be your go-to and you should have direct access to them which is a scale-able model (FYI really not trying to start the dealer model debate with this).

And what is Google's core business?

There is so much more to product integration then "do we feel like integrating that?". I'm not passing the blame in either direction on this, just pointing out there is so much more to consider and things happening behind the scenes that the average consumer isn't aware of, especially when it comes to privacy and information sharing.

mstafford388 got a reaction from dcovach in Room Control Driver
There was actually a recent update to the room control keypad driver that added some really cool features, things like cycling through sources, grouping rooms for feedback, etc. They are pretty much all geared toward making programming easier for the dealer though, for the most part the end user wouldn't even know that the driver is in the project.

mstafford388 got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in Why don't C4 controllers have Bluetooth?
You almost answered your own question by pointing out that pretty much every device on the planet does wifi, so why not just use network drivers that don't have the limitations BT has?

I can honestly say that I can't remember a dealer ever asking me about adding BT to a controller. It just doesn't come up and I spend all day everyday with dealers. I'm not saying there wouldn't be a few uses for it but it's not something that dealers seem to want.

And even more devices have ip. If a device is advanced enough to have bt. Shouldn't it have ip control?

mstafford388 got a reaction from ejn1 in T3 Touchscreen challenge WIFI
I have portable T3s running on wifi that I have zero issues with. What kind of network gear are you using? Also, I've seen issues like this if you have very good signal strength from multiple access points (over-saturating your wifi is a thing). Also, doubt you tried 5G since T3s don't technically do 5G

mstafford388 got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in Pentair Pool Integration
You need to confirm which panel you have. Initially you thought it was EZ touch now you think it's intellitouch. That's going to make all the difference in the world.

mstafford388 got a reaction from jeefere udo in Control4 VS. Vantage Control
Vantage lighting is rock solid and better than Control4's in my opinion. Control4 is better at everything else (control, A/V, 3rd party integration, etc)

mstafford388 got a reaction from ajgaspard in Apple announces Homekit - Threat or Opportunity?
It doesn't seem like a threat to Control4 to me. It honestly doesn't sound much different than what cable companies have begun to do, although I'm sure Apple will make it a cleaner/easier experience for the end user. Control4 just couldn't handle the tech support required to end users if they launched a similar product.
