I have built a one way serial driver that works well.

However, Annex4 and I have collaborated and created a very good serial/IP driver that works even better. It can be addressed to send the commands to specific displays. Even if those displays are serial daisy chained.

How many displays and in what format? Video wall/ single etc.

I should also note, this driver will work with all Samsung MDC capable display. Basically every commercial Samsung  display for the last ten years or more.

Thanks to you. Is it very complicated to make one myself? to be able to put the icon that I need, in this house to put an irrigation icon

The above thread will work for you too. Simple change the name to something like “irrigation_toggle”

  3. Quite simply. You can edit mine to simplify.

Create a copy and name it “Car_starter.c4z”

    Then rename Car_starter.c4z to Car_starter.zip

Open the zip file, and locate every image file in there.

Replace every image with same size image of one you want to use for the car starter. Has to be same resolution.

Personally, I open each image in an editor. “Paint.net” is a free and very good image editor. Then delete the contents and paste the new image in place. Save it. Keep same name of image. Very important.

Now open the “driver.xml” file with notepad or with “first object XML editor” free and very useful.

Press control+h and a replace window will pop up.

Replace the name of current driver with the new one every where.
    experience-button-hottub with Car_starter

Now save the file without changing the name from driver.xml

Now change Car_starter.zip back to Car_starter.c4z

Add it to your system like you did hot tub driver.

    Happy Automating!!

  4. Samsung UD55E-b is the model. we have 20 of these to put in as 5 video walls. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to calculate the checksum. (Newbie here)

was told there was driver for these displays and that the command protocol hasn't changed in 10 years on these devices. ANYONE?

install is 15 days away. need to prove this works or SPLAT, Egg on my face

attached is the command protocol from samsung.

need only ON-OFF-HDMI 1-HDMI 2-VGA-DP-DVI-Discreet Volume if possible-

Also looks like it can be controlled via ip as well.

    THANK YOU!

Anyone using integrated Vera stuff with @Joshua Pressnell homebridge appliance? All my lights are controlled by a VeraPlus controller and are fully integrated with C4. I'd think if I get this appliance, it's going to treat the lights as C4 lights and fans, right?

With the homebridge-wink, I could identify IDs as fans and get a fan icon. This was really nice since I have lights also in the fan and it makes it easier to differentiate between the "Living Room Fan" and "Living Room Fan Light" -- how does the appliance handle this?

I would like to avoid homebridge-vera, etc. and stay out of messing directly with the appliance.

The home bridge driver uses the drivers proxy to determine if it is a  light. So if it is already identified in the Control4 system as a light, then Home will see it as a light same goes for the fan. Of course, I'm not  familiar with that particular lighting system however I am comfortable that if it's integrated into Control4 it can work with the Home bridge and Home.
