Even if you wanted to have it so you could update the URL through a property:
<property> <name>Webview URL</name> <type>STRING</type> <readonly>false</readonly> <default/> </property> -- Define the property name local URL = "Webview URL" -- Update the URL when the property changes function OnPropertyChanged(strProperty) if (strProperty == URL) then -- In thise case the 'uibutton' proxy is defined as 5001 C4:SendToProxy(5001, "URL_CHANGED", {url=Properties[URL]}) end end

Keep in mind that you'll be using the same announcement in Control4, and by that I mean the rooms in which the announcement will be played. The actual audio announcement will change depending on the variable, but it'll always play in the rooms you choose in the Announcement's settings. If you want certain announcements to play in specific rooms, you'll need an instance of the driver for every announcement.
I've created a "house status report" announcement. And man, it works like a charm! You can program the driver to give you the status of only devices that require attention. For example, when I trigger the "Good Night Scene" the announcement will tell me which windows are open, but it won't mention the ones that are closed ("One of the kitchen windows is open"). If there's nothing to report, it'll give me a confirmation announcement, a simple "Good Night" confirms everything is closed and locked. Pretty cool! The one thing that sets this driver apart from others is that it uses Amazon Polly which is the most natural sounding TTS engine I've experienced.

eddy.trochez reacted to jerrywolf in Control for Fujitsu Wall Mount AC unit?
We finished a condo in Puerto Rico last year that had 7 split type AC units throughout. Since the original ones were put in by the developer 8 years prior and not continuously run, they were in bad shape and needed replaced, and I wanted to use a model that worked the best with a third party control system. The Fujitsu models were recommended by the HVAC people, but I couldn't find any interface (other than IR) to control these.

I found that most of the new Mitsubishi Mr. Slim models can use a module that plugs into the main board to give a control interface for any standard thermostat. We went with 2 different Mitsubishi models that support this (different sizes for different size rooms) after we found a contractor who does Mitsubishi AC.

I haven't integrated the thermostat interface modules yet, but plan to soon along with basic wifi thermostats that can all be tucked away under the outer cover. It's not the cheapest option (the interface modules are pricy), but I think it is the best option for these types of AC units for true 2-way feedback.

    Mitsubishi models used:
    MSY-GE15NA and MSY-GE24NA

    Mitsubishi interface module:
    PAC-US444CN-1

Got her to call the cable company and put it in bridge mode. BAM, worked. Please, please call your installer before making any changes to your network. It saves everyone time. Time = money.

In addition this driver will work with all Reolink cameras.
The driver will be released in the next few days! Just final testing and tweaks.  Waiting for some API feedback on motion detection.

Chowmain - Hebcal Jewish Calendar driver for Control4
Many Jewish people who strictly observe Shabbat refrain from what turning electricity on or off during this period. They may also refrain from making adjustments to the intensity of electrical appliances.
The Chowmain Hebcal driver for Control4 imports data from Hebcal.com. This driver helps by automating detection of Jewish holidays and your standard Shabbat (observed from a few minutes before sunset on Friday evening until the appearance of three stars in the sky on Saturday night). By firing these events it assists with notification of Candle lighting (18 minutes before sundown) and Havdalah (after the appearance of three stars in the sky) along with the automation of electronic devices during this period.
    Features
Automatic detection the Control4 projects latitude, longitude and timezone information for automatic information gathering.  Automatic daily update of information from Hebcal.com  Automatic update of information from Hebcal.com when the system boots up.  Variables for  IS_HOLIDAY – Is there a holiday today (checks once at midnight every night)  HOLIDAY_NAME – The title of the holiday today  HOLIDAY_MEMO – The description of the holiday today  IS_SHABBAT – Will fire when candle lighting starts and finish when Havdalah starts (including holidays not just Friday/Saturday).  Events for  Candle Lighting (property to execute event x minutes prior)  Havdalah (property to execute event x minutes prior)  Holiday Start – Fires at midnight of the day when there is a holiday  Holiday Finish – Fires at midnight the day after the holiday finishes.  FAQ
Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver??
Automate the electronics in the home so that no touch is required during special Jewish holidays and Shabbat.  Combine with our Advanced Announcments driver for Control4 to announce what holiday it is through the speakers.  Why do you only support OS 2.6 and above?
OS 2.6 offers a superior security encryption algorithm and a new and improved driver format. We have decided to only utilise this new format to ensure that the integrity of this driver is not compremised and that we can provide the best dealer/user experience available.

eddy.trochez reacted to Joshua Pressnell in Homebridge Driver for HomeKit Support?
I've been working on developing a homebridge plugin to fully enable HomeKit control/reporting of various Control4 devices.  Initially I'm supporting lights, dimmers, door contact sensors, window contact sensors, generic contact sensors, motion sensors and security systems (because that's what I have in my home).  I'm also working on a Control4 driver that will communicate with the homebridge plugin for all system devices without additional programming needed.
This will give the benefit of:
    * Direct control of Control4 systems via HomeKit w/ Siri voice control
    * Remote access (if you have home hubs such as Apple TV 4 or iPad) without 4Sight needed
    * Direct integration of "favorite" devices into the iOS control center views
    * Control of all Control4 devices via Apple Watch
    SO....a few questions:
    1) Does anybody out there have interest in such a thing?
    2) Are there folks out there that might want to beta test?

eddy.trochez reacted to alanchow in IFTTT Do Button
documenting this is tedious.. i've come up with a few examples of how you can use the IFTTT driver with Control4 but will add more as i go along with the documentation.
    EXAMPLES
    Outbound (Control4 > IFTTT)

Control4 can send SMS’s via your Android phone (IF app must be downloaded to the phone) Control4 can save data about the events in your home in google docs or dropbox. Control4 can send emails out without 4sight or 3rd party driver Control4 can send push notifications out without 4sight or 3rd party driver (using pushalot, pushbullet or pushover) Control4 can send Skype messages Control4 can send Google Glass notifications (with Message, Image URL and URL fields). Control4 can send notifications to your Android wear device (requires IF app installed). Control4 can send your BMW (Connected Drive Compatible) a message on your car’s front screen display (120 characters limited) Control4 can send your Tesla (EVE enabled) a message (with subject, message and message type fields) on your car’s dashboard Control4 can turn on or off your GE Smart Appliance and more. Control4 can tell your Android phone to turn on/off Bluetooth or wifi (might be useful when you’re leaving or coming back home). Tell the world via Facebook what your home is upto (might not be a good idea).

    Inbound (IFTTT < Control4)

Amazon Alexa (Amazon Echo, Tap, etc) can send commands to Control4 via voice recognition to do things like turn lights on, play music, house off and more. Assissant.ai can send commands to Control4 via voice recognition Control4 can read out stock prices or notify you when they raise or lower (requires Chowmain Advanced Announcements Driver) iOS Location and Android Location (via the IF app) can tell Control4 when you are approaching or leaving home. Your BMW (Connected Drive Compatible) can tell Control4 when it is entering or exiting an area. Your EVE enabled Tesla car can tell Control4 when it has arrived home, is leaving home or on the way home. Your Automatic, Zubie or Dash enabled car can tell Conrol4 when you have turned the car on or off within a certain area. Your GE, LG and Samsung Smart appliances can tell Control4 when it has been turned on, off, if for example an oven timer is done, if there is a leak in the dishwasher, if the filter needs cleaning, if the dryer cycle has finished, if the fridge door has been left open for too long, Your Nest Protect smoke alarm can send Control4 smoke emergency, warning and carbon monoxide emergencies Your Netatmo Welcome can tell Control4 when a specific person, known person or even an unknown person has been seen or arrives home (facial recognition) Your Roost Smart Battery can tell Control4 (via the announcement agent) when its battery is low (Great for smoke alarms). If the temperature (via weather forecast/conditions) changes in your area tell Control4 to do something. Your Android phone can tell Control4 when it has connected or disconnected to/from a specific Wifi network

eddy.trochez reacted to alanchow in Chowmain - Big Ass Fans / Big Ass Lights Driver
Chowmain - Big Ass Fans / Big Ass Lights Driver
The Chowmain Big Ass Fans Driver for Control4 allows integration of the IP controllable Big Ass Fans and Big Ass Lights into Control4 allowing full 2 way multispeed fan and multi level lighting control over your home.
Integration into Control4 allows control from a single point using Control4's touchscreens, mobile applications, keypads, handheld remote controls and cloud based 4sight remote monitoring and control service. On top of that it exposes control over the Haiku products in the Control4 ecosystem to provide interaction from other devices in the home.
From turning off your fans and lights when you arm your security system to automatically turning them on when it detects you are at home and if the temperature is at an uncomfortable level integration provides you with so many different solutions to make your lifestyle that much easier.
    General Features
Automatically Discover and Manage Big Ass Fan Devices on your network using our new Big Ass Fans V2 Agent Instantaneous Feedback Wide variety of read/write variables for feedback and advanced programming Light Features
Automatic Naming of Lights Auto mapped light levels (Control4 has 0-100 where Haiku has 0-16) Support for Advanced Lighting Scenes Two way feedback – Level, Device Name, Device MAC Address, Device IP Address Programming Commands OS 3.3.0 CCT / White Temperature Light Color Wheel Support BUTTON_LINK support for brightness and CCT control by 3rd party devices Fan Features
7 Speed Control Automatic naming of Fans Assign Preset Speed (On speed when toggled) Two way feedback – Speed, Device Name, Device MAC Address, Device IP Address Programming Commands - Whoosh Mode, Fan Auto, Fan Direction BUTTON_LINK support for Toggle and cycle up/down support by 3rd party devices Sensors
Occupancy/Motion Sensor Support and bindings to detect if a room is occupied or not Temperature and Humidity Sensor Support FAQ
Which Big Ass Fan Products are supported by this driver?
At this time, the following products are supported:
Haiku (H and I Series) Haiku L Haiku Light i6 es6 If its supported by the Big Ass Fans mobile app, it's probably supported by our driver.
Where is the Fan in Control4's interface?
Fan control is available from Control4's lighting page
How come the dimmer level changes slightly when i set a level?
Many light only have dim levels of 0-16, which may cause the level changes to vary
I notice that the driver automatically renames. What if i want to name it myself?
Adjust the Auto Rename Property on the fan.
How do i use whoosh, fan direction or the automatic settings?
These functions are programmed as one-way commands in the fan / light driver's programming commands. You should tie these into experience buttons, schedules or other event based programming.
What Control4 OS is required for this driver?
OS 3.3.0 or above is required for our Big Ass Fans V2 driver. For Legacy systems, V1 may still be used, but requires older firmware and supports limited hardware
My Fans were working correctly in V1, however, the fans do not operate in V2
You must upgrade your mobile app from the original Haiku App to the new Big Ass fans app and update the firmware. V2 requires updated firmware for operation. V1 does not require updated firmware, but it does not support all of the features or hardware of V2.
I have functionality I want to use which isn't available as a command or binding
We expose lots of functionality as variables which you can modify. If there are variables which you can't write to, or if you want functionality which is better handled in another way, let us know.
Do you offer any other cool drivers?
Control4 is a major part of our business. We develop new drivers all the time. You can see all of our drivers on our website (http://www.chowmainsoft.com). Sign up to our newsletter to get notified when new drivers out.
I want to try this driver out before buying it?
All Chowmain drivers for Control4 come with a 90 day trial.
Where can i find out more?
You can find out more about the driver from the following link.

eddy.trochez reacted to RyanE in Programing conditionals not working as expected
Composer Programming Delays are not implemented poorly.
They do not cause Director to stop doing what it's doing for X seconds, and shouldn't cause any system latency.
From what I've seen, they are implemented internally very similar to timers.
The main reason you might want to use timers instead of delays is that they're more flexible.  When you use a delay in a script, it will delay running the rest of the script, and if that script gets triggered multiple times, delays can cause things to work differently than you might expect, where if you'd used a timer, it's more straightforward (i.e. the 'rest of the story' would only get executed once, when the timer expires).

Also, and this is a personal preference. I'd change the time to "when time is night time". This way it works with the sunset. Here in NYC, it gets dark at 4:30 pm in the winter. You want that light to work when it's dark out. Delete 1 second delay and stop command.
