Not quite zero. I've been running it for 3 years at two houses with 4 AppleTV's at each house. I'm a day 1 updater and we've experienced no issues so far. So we know it works in at least 2 households. lol.

But now I'm giving @IntrinsicGroup's iOS 16 AppleTV driver a run and it's working quite well. Love the additional features and functionality it provides including access to the AppleTV Control Panel.

I've got a beta from our developer that's currently about to be sent out to our testers. Assuming there's no major issues it should be released in the next few weeks.

I managed to get a few of them up and running and they worked great. Couldn't believe how quickly the apps launched. These would be great as miniapps. I haven't really thoroughly tested, I did note that they dont "wake" the appleTV if its in screensaver mode. But will give em a run and will report any issues.

Yes... MiniApps will hopefully be coming soon in a later release, we just wanted to get the core driver out as quickly as we could.

@jimbones the quick launch codes needed for popular apps are available in the programming interface in Composer... I've asked our developer if they can add some info to the manual

Hi all, everyone who has an existing tvOS 13 and 14 driver with us should have received an email from us today with an update (assuming you have consented to emails from us). Our tvOS 16 driver is now available and offered free of charge to everyone with a license for the tvOS 13 and 14 driver. Simply download the driver files here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ahph4k23axdm6lo/AACEcDlO_0l7PnEr3Vxvl2WVa?dl=0 and follow the integration note to ensure correct installation of the driver.
We know this has taken a lot longer than anticipated and we can only apologise for that - if we could have got the driver out sooner we would have done. It is offered now free of charge for anyone with an existing driver license that still requires it and isn't using an alternative.

Setup 4 AppleTV's in about 10min. Went perfectly. No issues. Controls are snappy and responsive. Nice work.

Regarding app launching I don't believe it's in the integration note, let me get some info from the developer and get back to you on that one... most likely be the start of next week.

Great news, appreciated pushing through this driver although the long dev but keeping up with Apple is an exhausting effort anyways 😃

This Control4 Apple TV Driver allows a Control4 system to communicate with an Apple TV 4th, 5th (4K) or 6th (4K) generation running tvOS16 to communicate via ethernet.

Hopefully - I can't make any promises on it though until the driver is completed but that's our intention.

The statement below is no longer correct.  As of Dec 2nd 2021, Control4 systems running OS 3.1.3 and above can access drivers like this through phones & tablets. It just requires that the driver is updated to support the new javascript API.  See https://control4.github.io/docs-driverworks-proxyprotocol/#javascript-api
 

Hi all, apologies for the lack of comms - we've been wanting to hold off posting until the launch of a TVOS 15 driver is properly in sight.  

Whilst we've had our proof of concepts working for several months, translating that it something scalable and that is able to function in the confines of a control platform sandbox has been a mammoth task - the resources needed for this driver simply don't existing at all in the Control4 (or other control platform) sandboxes.  This has meant we have to build processes from scratch - something that would normally be build up over a number of years, not months!  It has been a huge investment from our team to do this, but we are keen to ensure we continue to support our customers, as we did for Apple TV 1-3rd Gen, ATV TVOS13 and ATV TVOS14.  With previous changes we've had something ready within 24 hours of launch - unfortunately due to the extensive nature of the change this has taken a fair bit longer, 
We are almost there now, so thanks for bearing with us.  Although TVOS15 is going to be a new driver, it's our intent to make this available free of charge for a designated time period to users of our TVOS14 driver.
I don't want want to give a fixed date but can say the end is site at last.  We'll be sure to post on here when we open up the beta.
