Yes, Bluestacks does allow you to do this, but Bluestacks in full of adware for games and is 99.9% focused on games and pushing you to install games. Being able to run the Android apps natively without needing anything would be useful.
In the Bluestacks world it seems that all "apps" are know as "games" - like this:

In this downtime I programmed my home system to do a couple things when I leave. A double tap on my essential switch delays 15 min, then turns off my lights and puts the computers to sleep (using chowmain's generic tcp comand driver and eventghost)
When I come back home my motions set off a WoL packet to wake my machines and turn on my lights. Additionally any computer activity will turn off the lights in other rooms. This is done with MCE Controller desktop software and the User Activity driver both from Charlie Kindel.

sitdownman reacted to booch in Rack cooling -- dealer liked it, so figured I'd share
Built my house with a closet in mind, but it lacked circulation and the components were running hot, especially with a dense rack. Threw this together with online parts (the main ones being a Cloudline T6 and a Tripp Lite exhaust duct) -- works great and is good for a ~20dg temp. drop (not shown, FYI) while reducing net noise due to fan speed. Sharing for inspiration/if helpful.

The ones from Amazon won't work with Control4.  Not the same Zigbee stack.

As stated, the driver support ONLY the non-cloud Sonoff device (noted "DIY" on their website)

I do not plan to write a driver for the cloud device because as most cloud stuff, it work for a time, then the cloud crap changes or die, and the device become unusable... So I'll stick with local control as much as possible.

Wow, this thread got way too much traction.

Bottom line is a good dealer (99% of us) works hard not only to serve its clients, but to even become a dealer. A simple 5-7% over the true cost (with all of the dealer’s legitimate overhead and investment) is basically MSRP (or close). You aren’t just buying the equipment, you are paying for experience, knowledge and total protection from failure. A good dealer (again, 99% of us) will support your equipment warranties (good luck with that buying off of eBay or Craigslist etc) and take care that your system and network is always performing at 100% maximum efficiency and is tailored to the way you live.

For all of you looking to backdoor a system, first try getting 2-3, even 10 estimates (and don’t be afraid to PM some dealers here, because some of the best are right here, everyday) and I guarantee you that taking the the lowest one will somehow come back to bite you in the ass. If you’re that interested in having C4, then you’re admitting you find it to be an exceptional system. It didn’t become that overnight, but it did become that because of the constant cooperation and blood, sweat and tears of and between C4 and its partners (dealers, etc).

Not for nothing, but during a pandemic, we’re all keeping our clients networks, systems and programming running. And the remote programmers here are very reasonably and typically filling in when you can’t get your own dealer quick enough or your dealer has exhausted all of its knowledge. We ALL care.

What exactly do you do for a living? I’d bet my last 5-7%, that you’d frown at me offering to buy your goods and or services for 5-7% over cost. Otherwise, you couldn’t afford even a second hand highly discounted system and a temp cracked version of CPro. I don’t care what your experience is (network, electrical engineer, software writer or the likes), Control4 is so technically advanced and evolving that you could never keep up with the specific, ever changing (for the better) equipment, driver, Director and 3rd party Device API changes. That doesn’t come without a price. Most of us WISH it was that easy. Sadly, (and gladly) it’s fluid, dynamic and fights to remain cutting edge in the automation field.

Do you realize how many different directions one could take when trying to automate a home? Without the big three, you’d have 16 apps, a minimum of 2-3 remotes and I would bet my last 5-7% that things wouldn’t talk to each other the way Control4 allows them to. You’d have to understand that one day mixed brand devices coexist perfectly and the next, dead forever. There are 5-6 “promising” automation solution technologies that fell flat and couldn’t keep up. This is why I’m one of the few that LOVES that SnapAV stepped up. They too pay close attention to cutting edge tech. And as much as there was speculation that Snap would degrade the model, I knew they’d help take it to the next level.

Not trying to be a dick, but I literally know of maybe only 2 out of 1500 dealers that don’t bend over backwards to take good care of their client base. And those eventually go away on their own or kicking and screaming when C4 pulls their plug. When I was solely an end user, my dealer wasn’t the cheapest out there, but they treated me like I’d expect to be treated when laying out the kind of money a complete system costs (even at the most competitive of pricing). A good dealer understands that once they land a client, there’s a serious obligation to the client and their ever changing needs as their lives change and technology evolves.

This post is definitely not going to help my popularity around here and I normally don’t get this passionate about things like this, but there may be a different Canadian based user forum you’d have been better off posting this in. This forum is for believers and early adopters (from C4 employees that give of their time, to driver developers, dealers, c4 techs, remote programmers and passionate end users) that ALL choose to information share and support each other to assure everyone is getting exactly what they expected from their Control4 investment.

Consumers - Integrators can reach out to customers to add value to their home automation system by installing trial versions of our drivers remotely into customer homes so they can live with the drivers for 3 months without any commitment. Staff discounts (from 25% to 50% off) We want to make sure that integrators have the opportunity to get to know our drivers so what better way than providing it at a heavily reduced price for use in their own home. Lists of drivers that can be installed remotely without additional hardware.
