  3. On a side note, I believe Walmart sells a 24” RokuTV in the US.

@lippavisualif you ever think about it, see if maybe you can grab the model # of the LG you mentioned. I couldn’t get the WebOS model I bought to work with the native or Annex4 driver.  I think the WebOS version was too low, can’t reminder the exact issue before I shipped it off to my kid for her dorm room.

  4. I dont think voice control should be its own product. it should be a feature of a control system.

Voice is not a native feature of Control4 today. Josh.ai is “the” voice control for Control4 and Crestron. In fact, Crestron Touchpanel mics serve as endpoints for Josh.

The suit brought by Snap put the brakes on the rollout of Josh as its total voice control. Until the suit, Josh was sold on Control4’s site and then during the consolidation (having nothing to do with Josh) Snap’s site. It was officially the go to for Control4 voice control.

    I don't see the Josh/c4 integration stopping.

I think greg was asking about Josh using the halo remote voice button. And that was a hot topic up until the lawsuit

That would be a game changer for many!

Agree, just won’t see any movement until the suit is resolved.  We hear that current integration is and will be supported …and short of the Halo voice feature, it’s still crazy powerful.  I don’t think most understand what we mean when we say there’s a synergy that makes each better than on their own.  Anything you can program in Control4, you can create a voice scene to fire.  And Josh’s room/area awareness is a huge game changer.  Trigger:  Who is in the backyard?  Response:  Camera pops in local, some or all navigators.  So much you can do.

If any dealers get word of when the Josh to Halo integration might be coming that'd be greatly appreciated to know!!!

I don’t believe either side will make any further announcements until this SNAP/AVA/Josh lawsuit is sorted.  Josh is reassuring the dealer network that the integration will remain, but those are just words.

I’m hopeful things get sorted out sooner rather than later.  It’s too good of a synergy to not continue to build from.  I don’t disagree with SNAP killing the AVA integration.  The current future of Control4 is the Halo Remote platform and they spent a bunch of cash getting that rolled out.

  7. Josh no longer has Savant integration. One of the two parties stepped away from the integration. Sad. A lot of Savant dealers spent boatloads of money on Josh equipment.

Here’s the thing that I can’t impress enough…. Josh isn’t for everyone. It’s a luxury home automation platform that also happens to create an amazingly powerful synergy when coupled with Control4. It is by no means inexpensive, because it is a luxury line. It isn’t designed for the masses. (Although the latest hardware programs suggest they are willing to meet in the middle with less features).

The target Josh market is the luxury market.

All of that said, if that’s a direction you choose to go… you won’t be sorry or feel like you’re not getting your money’s worth. It’s a fantastic product and no one in the voice control space is anywhere close today. And if/when they are near comparable, they won’t be a line that’s discounted on PrimeDay.

  8. They do not. I assume the sale is to try to clear out some wifi6 gear… even though it hasn’t been around terribly long. I personally have a blend of Rx10’s and Rx50’s in my project. They are blazing fast and very stable.

Are the new iPhone 15’s wifi7?

  9. Anyone interested in Ruckus gear, message me. There is a very nice sale on their APs and Switches. Fantastic opportunity to finally crossover to enterprise grade APs at prices similar to mainstream home APs. I’m a huge fan of Ruckus and its Unleashed platform. Very simple to setup and manage.

The sale runs through the end of the year.

Message me if you are interested.

    TIA

  10. I have an AVPro AxionX Modular HDBT/HDMI/Audio Matrix.  The Axion platform is AVPro's flagship matrix platform.  AVPro is considered the undeniable gold standard in video distribution.
The box is less than 6 months in service and will be swapped out for MXNet because the client has exceeded the number of endpoints that the 16x16 Axion can do without stacking.  Currently it has 16 HDMI inputs, 14 of which are Downmixing and 8 HDBT Scaling Outputs and 8 HDMI Outputs.  The unit is the most current iteration of the AxionX.
The unit can also serve as a totally independent audio matrix (16x16), depending upon customization.  I am willing to configure the matrix precisely to your specifications (albeit it will exceed the number of outputs most homes require - also GREAT for a sports bar etc.  I am asking dealer cost and will entertain dealer inquiries as the equipment is hard to come by these days.  The unit will carry a full no hassle 10 year warranty (if you know AVPro, they will likely support for life, but only replace 1st 10 years.  I will add the driver and configure for the buyer if necessary.
Message me with your exact requirements and I can price accordingly.
Min. Number of Video Inputs and do they need to be downmixing?
Min. Number and type of video outputs (HDBT/HDMI)?
Do you need fiber hdmi (up to 40m will do 48gbps)?
Do you need balun receivers for the HDBT?
Will you need audio matrixing and if so, how many independent streams (16 outputs is automatic)?
Please do not inquire if you aren't serious about a video distribution solution.

"I've heard of Josh but it seems expensive and complicated"

Expensive compared to what?  Because Josh.ai is a pro-grade voice control system and is far superior to Alexa, Google, Siri control.  (and I have used and my clients use all of those).  It's also shockingly simple to setup and use in the Control4 environment.  As a company, we don't even charge for standard setup with Control4.  I think as a standalone, it get's more complicated, but the Josh driver for Control4 allows Control4 to do all of the heavy lifting (bindings, routing, etc).  I sell Josh.ai, but I am and end user as well and I am enamored with it's power and possibilities.

  12. I'll have these back today.  I don't believe she opened them, but will know soon.  1 Black, 1 Silver Touch.  Since I am not selling these myself, please any members interested must have been on the forum for more than 6mo.  I can't risk a wonky deal for her.  Thanks!

    Good News.

Just back and decided to reboot our EA-5 Controller by physically turning it off, waiting 15 minutes before turning back on - thankfully our system is back up and running - all Keypads and sensors working.

    Happy days 🙂

Awesome!   It’s a level III tech trick lol!  Crazy how on 2023 one of our best tech tools is a powercycle.

  14. Thank you all.
The Consumer Unit is the Breaker Panel/Board in the UK
The work was done by a UK, NICEIC qualified electrician and, where necessary, all equipment was switched off and unplugged from the sockets including items connect via USBs in our sockets. After the work was done and tested, all items were plugged back in and switched on.
Everything seems to be working except, the Keypads, Sensors and 0-10v lights.  We can used our iPhones and iPads to control all lights except the 0-10v which do not respond when the slider controls are used.  The 0-10v Relay Module turns the lights on but the 0-10v Dimmer Module does not respond.
I think it, at least in part, has something to do with the Control4 Ethernet Bus Gateway as it is blinking very fast green/yellow and then red (see attached file).  Does this need to be re-set, reconnected to the system?

Might seem elementary, but have you rebooted the controller since you noticed this?
