There is a specific command to disable and enable art mode, this is what you want to tie into your schedule.

@mujtaba.khokhar, I don’t seem to be able to find that under programming. Do you remember where it is?

Sounds like your art mode app is not connected to the tv…

You mean linking the Art Mode mini app to the TV under connections? This I assume was done, because if I choose Art Mode manually from Watch, it enters Art Mode fine.

  2. @mujtaba.khokhar I’m not sure the driver is working the way it’s supposed to for me. When I set “on power off” to turn the TV off or to Art Mode without app, they both work fine. But when I set it to Art mode with app, room off doesn’t do anything at all. The TV stays on the same input as when it was on, and C4 shows room off just like other rooms with the Frame. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

  3. Thanks @mujtaba.khokhar. The art mode driver has luckily already been installed. If I’m understanding it right, do you mean that I just turn on the room using the art mode mini app during the day when the room goes off, and don’t do anything at night when the room goes off? Or Inder programming is there a specific command to enable/disable art mode?

  4. Is there a way to control the turning on and off of the “Art Mode” in the Frame TV when powered off?

    Trying to do the following:

    1. Watching TV - TV is on, play sources normally.

    2. Someone in the room, but not sleeping or watching TV - enable Samsung “Art Mode” (to show art work and make it look like a couture frame). This can be done by programming that when at least one light in the room is on or the shades are open, enable “Art Mode” on the TV.

    3. Someone is sleeping in the room - truly turn off the TV. If all lights are off and the curtain is closed, it likely means someone in the room is sleeping.

The problem is that once the “Art Mode” is enabled on the TV, it doesn’t differentiate between cases 2 and 3. So if there’s a way to enable and disable the “Art Mode”, it would solve the problem.

I am not villifying the poster but when you say 'Is this what's under "Connections" in Composer Pro?' then that means you are familiar with the UI of Composer Pro.  To know about the  Connections tab would mean that you have seen a screen of Composer, which means that you are using it or have looked over you dealer's shoulder when hs is using Composer Pro.

I don't really care if someone is using Composer Pro and I wish that power DIY users were able to use Composer Pro.  But I gave up arguing about that on these forums about a decade ago.  Those that really want to use Composer Pro will find a way.

By the way, if you ask me how I know about the Connections tab then I will have to plead the Fifth. 😉

    Hahaha. Plead the Fifth 🤣

You're right about the connections tab though. When few things weren’t working the way I would’ve liked, I noticed what my dealer was doing to change it, and that’s when I saw the connections part. I am an engineer and a complete tech guy outside of Control4, so noticing someone using any software is enough to get an idea of how it works.

Maybe some day our wishes will be heard and is end users will get access to Composer Pro.

Wow !! One mention of connections or bindings and the poor guy is using pro!! Can people really not ask legitimate questions to try and understand more??

Haha. I actually didn’t know the word bindings until someone used it on this forum thread earlier. I picked up the term from this thread.

Not quite, as of os3xxx (at least since 3.1 I want to say, you can always have a NEWER composer to use on an OLDER software system - you can freely update composer to the latest without updating the system at this point (it actually has specific management packages per software version)

    Updating is Pro only

Perfect. Then I don’t need to worry about upgrading composer HE too early.

It sounds like you are already using Composer Pro to be able to ask such a detailed question.  Why bother with Composer HE if you already have access to Composer Pro?

I’ve never used Composer Pro, but I’ve noticed what my dealer does to some extent while using it. Can end users get access to Composer Pro? I would love to get it, but I thought it’s dealer only.

  8. What are the limitations of Composer HE for OS3 (I'm running OS 3.2.3 currently)? More specifically, what can't Composer HE do that Composer Pro can?

I know that Composer HE can't add/remove devices/drivers. But once a driver is installed in Composer Pro, can all of the settings/parameters of the driver available in Composer Pro be edited in Composer HE as well?

Other than adding drivers, what else is limited?

I apologize if this is covered in another thread.

  9. I have 5 Hikvision cameras (1080p) and one Door Bird (720p) integrated into OS 3.2.3. When Security -> Cameras is opened and the app goes to the page with a preview of all cameras, it loads quick on the Android app and T3 screen. However, on the iOS app it takes a long time to show the previews of the Hikvision cameras. Initially, it shows the spinning wheel, then after about a minute it shows a symbol to indicate there's no camera feed from any of the cameras. After a few more minutes, it starts slowly loading the preview of the cameras one by one.

At any time if I tap on the preview of a camera whose preview hasn't been loaded yet, the live feed of the camera in the page with only one camera loads quick. So, it doesn't seem to be a problem of C4 not getting the camera feed. The problem is only on the page where all cameras previews are shown at the same time, and only on iOS.

I tried changing the Hikvision cameras to 720p, but that didn't make any difference.

OP, this is how you program what you want to do. No need for snapshots or any other programming. The "Control4" and "Recall" commands are at Room level. The "Recall" command will take you back to your source.

@eddy.trochez can I ask you to share the image again? The link isn’t working any more. Thank you!

This one I certainly get - would be nice if there was an option similar to "channels" that lists mini-apps

In a way, the Roku driver nicely allows this with it's built-in channel driver, but unless you only use Rokus, this wouldn't help.

Personally I just list the most commonly used apps, using the regular driver to select any less used ones.

Yes, something like the Roku channel driver would have been perfect! The ability to create a custom set of those would have been even better. For example, I'm using only Apple TV from the LG TV (to get Atmos support) and all the other mini apps from the Fire TV Cube. So if there was a way to create my own group of these mini apps (from my own combination of sources), it would have been amazing!

Unfortunately, even the list of commonly used apps is quite high today, but using mini apps for only those does make the most sense now of the available options.

  12. @therockhr thanks for looking it up. I was wondering if maybe the Ex-Link on this TV has some other port that isn’t obvious. If it’s a 3.5mm connector, I guess I’m out of luck. Thanks for the help!

just out of curiosity, if the TV did have Ex-Link, would it have been 2 way communication like IP control or still one way like IR?

  13. Thanks @therockhr. There isn't any port on the TV labeled Ex-Link or Serial. Are you sure the UA40D6000 should have it? The only 3.5mm port I see on the TV is for the headphones.

When I do a driver search for Samsung [Serial][IR], I only find TVs with the letter E in the model number following the size as the lowest letter. So, I assume these corresponds to TVs a year newer than the one I'm trying to integrate.
