  1. For the handful of rooms where I use Hue as ceiling lights I just remove the switch from the wall and permanently wire it on, and then replace it with a Lutron Pico and have it control the Hue light via programming. But having said that, Hue isn't really ideal as a primary lighting technology (like ceiling lights etc), it's better to use for accent lighting like Lighstrips and so on. In my one office I have a ceiling fixture that takes 5 of the Hue GU10 bulbs and then I just control it via a Pico on the wall after permanently wiring it on.
  2. Will post here first before bugging my dealer. I have a lot of TCL TV's that have Roku built in and I use them with C4. The problem though is let's say I use the Roku app or the Roku remote to turn on the TV or YouTube, C4 never has any idea of this. All Navigators, Neeo's etc act like the room is turned off. If I want to turn the TV off using a Neeo I have to basically tell it to launch YouTube or something else and then press Power Off. Same in the reverse, I use a Neeo to turn on YouTube on the Roku which works, but then I use the Roku app to turn it off. C4 then shows now playing in that room as Roku TV forever, even though it's turned off. Is that normal? It's IP controlled and uses Mini Apps so I don't get why C4 doesn't report proper status.
  3. That guy is a total tool, like what a super helpful post "the driver exists" and then no follow up. Like why bother even posting. I hate people like that.
  4. That's not normal, I have 4 of these but the version without the keyhole otherwise identical and I've had them for 6+ years and they look exactly the same as the day I bought them, same color/finish also. Do you live by the ocean or something as it almost looks like salt or corrosion.
  5. Maybe C4 doesn't want to make a driver because they know RA3 is so good no one will want to use C4 lighting!
  6. Thanks for the update. Just to add, I use the USB power on the H&T and have it set to report every 0.5 degree change. That works fine I have no issues there. I'm referring more to when a device goes offline, like battery dies, or it gets unplugged from the wall, or poor wifi. The navigators always show the last temperature it reported vs showing -- or whatever as offline. The H&T in my theatre is working finally, but it would go offline until I physically reboot it. It could be offline for 7 days yet C4 navigators all show 69 degrees or whatever, being that it was 69 when it last reported in. I was hoping it would show offline, vs what it does right now as I find I'm always hopping into the Shelly app immediately after the C4 app just to double check and make sure that it's correct! All IoT devices including my controller have Static IP. Are you saying the cloud is supposed to be reporting to C4 that the device is offline, as that definitely does not happen. I do use the cloud driver as well, I've just NEVER had a C4 navigator show a Shelly as offline, but instead just reports the last temperature. I have 2 Honeywell Wifi thermostats, and any time I disconnect them or remove them from wifi, all the navigators show "--" as the current temperature, so you immediately know the device is offline. I don't seem to have this issue with Shelly 1, as if a door sensor is disconnected or the Shelly 1 is offline it shows my garage doors as greyed out with a ? on them. It's really the H&T ones that have the issue. Maybe the new update will solve these issues hopefully! I just find when C4 doesn't report a Shelly device as offline I find I stop trusting C4. So, instead of having 1 app to bring everything together, I find I still use all separate apps just to be safe.
  7. Yeah, when you're using it. From your article directly: "Our results show that Amazon and third parties (including advertising and tracking services) collect smart speaker interaction data." As in, if I'm constantly asking the score of the game, or when a certain store closes, then sure it's going to show me ads online for that. I don't see anywhere in your link that says they always listen and provide ads. It says they sometimes misactivate, such as if it thinks you said Alexa, but that's not the same as spying on you. It's no different than using Amazon or Google and it building a profile of you, but that's not spying. To each his own though, but there's no way I'd pay the cost of Josh just for a bit more privacy.
  8. The Govee driver works well but it doesn't seem to support RGBIC (multi zone/colour lightstrips or Outdoor Ground Lights etc) which are what many Govee products are now and instead sets it to a solid colour. Any chance that this will ever be added? Same with the other Govee devices, like they make an air purifier, leak sensors, humidity and temperature sensors etc. Would be handy if so as they seem to come out with new products all the time. I like their outdoor lighting but I don't want every single light on a strand to be the exact same color when the Govee app itself lets you specify the color per light or section of the strip.
  9. Darn worst timing!!! I just replaced 20 LIFX bulbs with Hue because I couldn't get the Axxon driver working! The Chowmein one worked but it only uses cloud which I really don't like. The Axxon Engineering one says it uses local control but I could never get it to detect any of my bulbs no matter what I'd do even though they are detected right away in Home Assistant and Hubitat. So gave up and replaced all of them with Hue. I'll give this driver a try after also as maybe I can figure out a use for 20 LIFX bulbs now lol.
  10. I have this question also as I was looking at Tuya shades. The link above says it starts at $1,500.00 a month for the cloud API access, not sure if that's for companies integrating their app or for end users, but when I google "tuya API" it takes me to the link eggzlot linked to above. I'm assuming this must be for developers that are integrating their own apps or something as I can't see many residential customers paying $1,500.00 a month as it says "max 75,000" devices lol. I have ZigBee Tuya shade controllers and I just find it so buggy all the time so was thinking of switching them for the Wifi version to try this driver but then saw this so wanted to check too.
  11. That's too bad, I was hoping it worked more like HomeKit where tapping would toggle, but press and hold would make it a dimmer. OS 3 is so old and dated looking so hopefully OS 4 will be out soon that maybe fixes weird issues like these.
  12. If I go into shades and make one of them a favorite, it basically makes it a toggle for open/close but no way to stop it, so it's either full open or full closed. Is there any way to make it stop moving or specify the level? Similar with a light, if I favorite it to a room it turns it into a toggle for on/off. Is there any way to bring up the dimmer controls from the favorite as well?
  13. Take off the tin foil hat as that literally does not happen, and if it does it's called a coincidence.
  14. Phew so glad I checked, I will cancel my camera order with my dealer since that won't work for us. Cheers.
  15. Is it possible to hide things like Cameras entirely but as a per user level? For example, if I have an account for my kids for them to use the C4 app, is there a way to fully block the Cameras option entirely, but still allow Cameras to be shown on T4s etc? If they can't be blocked on a per user basis, is it possible to fully block them on the mobile app but allow them still on other navigators? Or lastly, is there a way to have them ONLY be accessible if the phone/navigator is on the LAN, but not accessible remotely?
  16. Nanoleaf works with C4 I have 5 of them and they work awesome. The driver is here https://annex4.link/drivers/nanoleaf-aurora
  17. I'm using the Shelly Cloud driver and really love it but had a question regarding the H&T temperature sensors as I have about 10 of them. They all work great, but periodically one or two of them just go offline, either for a few hours or a day, and usually come back after a reboot. The problem though is in Composer, it just shows it as "Offline or Sleeping" which is what it shows for all of them (as in even connected ones say this), even though the Shelly app fully says OFFLINE. The Temperature Display Driver that's bound to the Shelly H&T never updates which is my biggest issue. So, for example, the Temperature Display Driver will show on a navigator that the Theatre is 66 degrees which will be correct. That Shelly H&T then goes offline, and the room is now 72 degrees, yet the navigators all show 66 still vs showing the -- or indicating offline. So, from the navigators you'd think all the temperature sensors are online and reporting temperature, when often times it hasn't updated in days because the sensor has been offline. Is there any way to have it so that if a sensor is actually offline (like Shelly app reporting it as offline), it instead shows the -- on the navigators to at least indicate something is wrong? If not, are there any other temperature sensors that are recommended for C4 that would prevent this, that's not from Shelly? I'm trying to have one in each room so that I have a nice dashboard that lets me view the temperature in each room of the house, so the H&T's were ideal as they aren't crazy expensive.
  18. I did it for better signal throughout the house as 1 bridge couldn't hit the entire house plus all of the outside as I have just as many outdoor Hue lights as I do indoor. I primarily did it though a few years ago for redundancy as I was having an issue where my Hue bridge would die after about 6 months constantly, like just fully dead and I'd have to replace it and reprogram all my lights from scratch which literally made me want to shoot myself. That happened at least 3 or 4 times over a 2 year period. Got frustrated with that a few years ago so split the network up over a few bridges so at least if one failed I wouldn't have to reprogram everything (and of course not one failure since lol, not that I'm complaining!). I mostly just use 2 of them, I have one that's my Indoor Bridge for indoor lighting, and then my second one is the Outdoor Bridge which is in the garage and used for landscaping and outdoor Hue lights. I have a 3rd one in the theatre which has a few lights connected to it (had bought a spare one and forgot to return it lol but it's not really necessary). The Hue app makes it easy to switch bridges so it's really not a big deal having multiple at all.
  19. News to me, I have 80 Hue lights over 3 bridges and I don't have this issue at all.
  20. Not sure about HE, but I run Composer Pro on my Windows 11 ARM system and it runs great, I haven't had any issues at all and have been running it for months. From what I understand, HE is just a crippled version of Pro, so shouldn't be any different. Not sure if it matters but I have a M1 Max Apple Silicon running Windows 11 ARM on Parallels. .NET is basically a programming language or set of libraries, similar to how apps used to need Java etc, it's basically a dependency for it to run. Check to ensure you have the latest version and do all Windows updates etc as well. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-11
  21. I haven't written any driver, I was just using it via programming to do actions like "Publish MQTT message." It was just weird as it would work for a day or so and then stop until I reboot the controller then it works again. Maybe it's something with the keepalive and timeout settings, but I never configured those on my other devices that use MQTT and they always publish fine. Having said that, I'm dumb and just realized that Home Assistant supports webhooks for triggers, making MQTT unnecessary as I was only using MQTT to trigger events on Home Assistant (mainly Philips Hue Dynamics scenes and multi coloured lightstrip scenes which C4 doesn't support). Right now I'm just using the Generic TCP Driver to make HTTP POST requests and it works great, so I will leave it as this!
  22. Cloud has nothing to do with it though. Yes Insteon will keep working if you have a PLM or what not, but how exactly are you going to keep buying switches and dimmers considering the entire company is gone? It's not like they just shut down their cloud or something, they are completely out of business. It's really no different than if Snap also went out of business. Yes stuff will work for a bit, but it's not going to work forever. It's the 100% fully cloud only crap that you want to avoid, like Blink cameras, or things like that where they would literally cease to work the moment the cloud is gone.
  23. So, quick update, I removed the old Berto drivers and then added these new ones. They worked and I could publish MQTT messages to my broker and all was well. When I got up this morning though nothing would work any more, even logging into Composer and trying to publish a message the broker would never receive it. If I use my other systems and publish messages the broker receives them right away, so it's only C4 that stops working. I then reboot Director and immediately it starts working again. It will be good for maybe 24 hours and then back to just doing nothing until I reboot Director. Wish I had more luck with this but I can't keep it working for more than a day before it stops, so I will stick to the Generic TCP driver instead of MQTT as I have spent way too long already on this. Thanks!
