  1. It appears you can do that, but if new features are added you can only get them with Connect and not 4Sight according to the current docs. That means you can keep on keeping on for some time if you don't want or need anything new and shiny they deploy. You can still get patches and upgrades. Seems like they are going to start embracing feature flags flipped by Connect licensing. That can get complex for a small shop.
  2. This is interesting, Integrators that want to take on customers with Assist accounts will have to be an "Assist Authorized" integrator. I sure hope that doesn't squeeze out the rockin' small operators. Also makes me wonder if Assist is really being maned by the dealers.
  3. This is a really good point. This may lead to dealer consolidation and more competition for existing Control4 clients. Not always a bad thing.
  4. I think its interesting that Assist requires direct payment to C4 from the customer. This doesn't permit the dealer to discount or even give up their cut if they want.
  5. If I were a dealer I would love this... I'm a software engineer and have worked with off-shore teams for 25 years. Who do you think will be handling L1?

  7. You can tell they have concerns by how they phrased the press releases. Quite a bit of spin in there. You do not say this kind of thing unless you are trying hard to plant that thought in everyone's mind.
  8. Not sure if this video link is shared in the above links. https://vimeo.com/886926663
  9. I'm preparing to return to C4 and have been gearing up. I'll have to read through all of this to know what my next steps should be and how much this change is adding to my costs. I have an existing account for an HC800 that isn't online. Am I grandfathered in? OR do I need to set up a Core3 or Core5 before April for some advantage?
  10. Weird. I have not had that problem. Is the panel on the most recent firmware? Do you have it on a 2.4 AP with reserved IP?
  11. Thanks. This is a good tip. I had sort of considered them a good buy configured for 1080P. I saw a bunch of CVE's on Uray gear so I was a little weary of that brand... but to my inexperienced eye some of these look like they are all from the same manufacturer. Perhaps the majority of the firmware is based on the same few packages and they all have the same vulnerabilities.
  12. Like so-so or it's seems like a good 4k picture? Thanks for chiming in there. Yes, I know for tiling in portrait I don't need more than 1080P, but if I'm buying 3 or 4 of them I was thinking of getting a 4k one for the same reason as @eggzlot. I mean if I'm going all in on Netplay I might was well be able to do 4k and full screen on the other 8 TV's if I wanted. Just wondering about the quality. If it's just so-so and not much better than 1080P then I wont bother. Not a great deal of reviews on this kind of item. I'd prefer a 4 channel rack mount or I've seen some 8 channel 4k 30fps rack mount units for 700, but who knows if they suck or not. Some of your encoder links and other links are broken on your website so I'm doing the best I can to search about for options.
  13. @eggzlot did you end up with a KunuoMagic encoder? I'm looking at them to solve a need to tile on a portrait TV. I'd like to get something more current than many of the encoders, but only if it makes sense.
  14. @videostorm Thank you, this is great. Audio source control. If I had 3 tiles stacked vertically using Netplay and three encoders, what are my options for selecting the audio from those three sources or mixing them and outputting them from the TV? I also have 2 CMX1616A2 to deploy so I can also output the audio to the zone or zones. Can a Lumi TV be used with Netplay? Curious if I can use a LumiTV in place of a VRX042.
  15. @videostorm Do you have an experience in supporting a The Frame TV in portrait mode and showing 3 16:9 sources stacked on the screen? If I wanted to do that on one tv what's required? Does splashtiles do that or do I need Netplay etc? I like what's happening with the splashtiles and had wanted to do a Dakboard like situation. I'm keen on getting a tiling solution for video and security cameras. Thanks for your time.
  16. The datasheets are available on the Control4 website. https://www.control4.com/docs/product/core-lite/data-sheet/english/latest/ The forum would not let me post them all. It thought it was spam lol. So in the above link replace the model name accordingly for the below models. /core-1/ /core-3/ /core-5/
  17. I have a 50" Samsung The Frame mounted in portrait mode in the kitchen. We've been using it for images and mirroring a phone. This display is not great and displaying video content in portrait mode so I'm looking for options to tiling multiple sources. Does anyone have a solution to say tile 3x1 sources or creatively tile on the tv in portrait mode? In a perfect world I'd like to be able to tile things like security cameras and fill the real estate. I'm hoping for simple. So far I think perhaps Videostorm could maybe do it, but I'm not entirely sure what would be involved and at what cost.
  18. I have an IQP4 with a PowerG hardwire adapter. I'm using the C4 integration with another platform and it works well. There are some quirks, but overall I think it's a very good value. For me it was a toss up between the IQP4 and the Pro. At times I regret not going with the Pro, but there were two main considerations for going with the IQP4 and Hardwire. The IQ Remote panel (if you want a panel) is low in features. I wanted a feature rich panel for the wife. My hardwire location is also 14' below grade on one side so the cell connection may have been impacted. The features on the IQ Pro that I want and didn't get are ethernet and loops. I had a bunch of 433 contact sensors so I was able to get the IQP4 with the 433 daughter card. I'm very pleased with the responsiveness. I am not thrilled with the ADC doorbell performance. The voice announcements are crude, but functional. The headscratcher for me was that the IQP4 is 7v and the IQ Remote is 12v. Makes no sense. I was able to wire them over 150' of 4 wire without issue though. Super easy to self install. I use Surety for monitoring and I bought from Surety and Alarmgrid.
  19. Thanks for the confirmation. It's what I had assumed. No support for more complex z-wave devices without C4 support. Forgive me for asking questions that have probably been discussed lately. I'm just coming back to C4. Anyone know if Matter bridging is in the future for C4? e.g. bridging in Z-wave and Zigbee devices from other hubs? Seems like a common way forward these days.
  20. Great to know that switches are working. Do developers have the ability to add z-wave drivers?
  21. That's interesting. Do you think the PM will work? Have you tried the Zooz switches and devices? I have a bunch of them.
  22. Has anyone tried the Shelly Wave 1 z-wave relays on a Core? Are they working with the generic support? They are available outside of the US at the moment, but there is a US part number for these so perhaps we will get them this year in the US. https://kb.shelly.cloud/knowledge-base/wave-1
  23. I'm looking into coming back to C4 after letting it get long in the tooth in my current house. All of the existing C4 gear is racked, but it's all outdated and not worth saving. However, I do have some remotes and a CMX16 audio matrix to keep. Motivating features for trying again: I'd like to get the whole house audio set up with the Videostorm audio matrix for music and announcements Integrate the Qolsys security panel Hue integration Automate 1 home theater with local gear Leverage Z-wave potentially in the future for locks and switches Ecobee integration 1 wall tablet I think I'm looking at needing: Core3 T4 10" Maybe a core something for the theater Remote Integration help getting it set up. I will re-rack everything. I can provide a lot more detail when we get into things. I'm a software engineer and technical so communication etc should be easy. I'm a DIY kinda guy so I'm hoping for some help from someone that is more comfortable with that than not. I'm not in a rush. Thanks for your interest.
