  1. Any dumb motor and Shelly can work with the Shelly driver if you would like to save money and have more choices.
  2. What did they actually tell you. I heard from you that you said they were zero help, but what did they tell you? People are going to have a lot of questions and there are some dealers here willing to help, but it can help if you could be a little more detailed on what happened with the original installer. The seller is required to provide details on the system. If you recently bought it and didn't get anything at closing and the system was working during the sale then you have some leverage, legally. The controller is older and most everyone is going to suggest that if you want to enjoy the whole house audio that you upgrade. If you only have audio that's a pretty quick solve, but does involve some money. I'd suggest you get clear on what you want from the home automation system and what you would budget and then let some of the remote dealers help you out.
  3. This. For instance all of these use the image. They are either ripping each other off or it was an image made available to them by Control4 at some point. https://www.thecableguy.co.nz/audio-and-video https://www.digitalavintegrations.com/ https://www.drexlerhooke.co.uk/services https://www.virtuosoav.co.uk/home-cinema https://www.davisaudio.com/chicago-media-rooms/ I think it might have been part of the marketing for the 4k matrix years ago. Here is another view of the showroom.
  4. I believe this image comes from a control4 media package. It's used by many dealers.
  5. A retired professor might have a tendency to over engineer.
  6. Phone, watch, voice... If you use a fast-stat common maker you can use almost any thermostat like an Ecobee etc.
  7. Fast-stat common maker for the win.
  8. Ah heh... not on the forum software. I was wondering if you could copy the programming from composer to text in this way. I've always found it to be xml. I'm hoping I'm missing a feature where I can type code in composer rather than drag/drop/clicky/clicky. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  9. No need to prairie dog on this topic if you have a solution.
  10. Curious, how do you copy the programming out formatted in that way? Or did you write it pseudo code style?
  11. I was able to google and find the spec sheet and validate the specs without issue. https://www.control4.com/docs/product/triad-8-zone-power-amplifier/triad-data-sheet/english/revision/A//triad-8-zone-power-amplifier-triad-data-sheet-rev-a.pdf
  12. Sure. I think some people want to add more concurrent sources to a project while others just want to have an isolated solution for streaming sources that isn't a controller. You still need an amp with a core. You need and amp with this. You need speakers etc. I think this item is currently not going to fit well or tightly with a COntrol4 system because it's currently only controlled though its own application. But a person could use it by connecting it to an amp or amps with auto sensing or a 12v trigger (per zone) to drive any zones they want. Looks like it can play local files off an attached driver per zone/source. This is probably a very useful solution for some people. OSD doesn't have any published API's or documents so I would imagine an interested party would need to reach out to them directly for driver development. It's a lower end brand but they offer some features that people want.
  13. Save 1000+ dollars and have 4 streams vs 3. But if you can't get a driver easily its not very useful.
  14. If you can say the City I'm sure people can highlight some local choices for experienced installers so you can get 2-3 bids. You know, like normal business approach to expensive implementations that are difficult to change. If you haven't built yet it tells people where you are in the process and what can still be changed to meet your needs. Basic stuff like media/security closet for a rack of gear. Electrical plan for line and low voltage. Panelized or central lighting control or not. Drops for appliances, sensors, speakers, alarm system, security cameras, in floor heating, wall tablets, shower control etc. If you want automated lighting a lot of things can be different like a different approach to 3way or N-way lighting.
  15. You are still designing the house and haven't pulled permits yet? What city is the property in?
  16. What do you need and what do you want from any home automation. Forget vendor for the moment. To me your post is trolling a bit. Not sure you are really telling the truth, but if you are and you are here trying to talk about Control4 you should absolutely be able to rattle off what you need and want.

  18. The old version has serial. I don't see it on this one.
  19. Not sure I said that though. I don't really disagree with that. I think it's simply possible. We do all sorts of software things to glue things together in a platform like C4. Doing the same with the hardware really isn't a stretch. IR bugs aren't really all that different are they? Looks like Roku search depends on some services like: https://universalsearch.io/how-it-works/ https://www.nielsen.com/data-center/gracenote-id/ Those help to standardize the metadata. I wonder if a party could subscribe to their data to run their own searches to then make the deep link roku calls rather than running Roku search and navigating on device. They obviously have a db of all (most?) of the content. But yea, I agree it would be nice to have the voice api.
  20. It's not mission critical. I think you are overreacting.
  21. Not really. Acknowledging it and trying to look for a solution. I guess I could have +1'd you. How is Josh.ai handling it? Are they speech to text and then guessing at the intents and translating it into the deep link api?
  22. Best you could do if you were desperate for Tuya support would be to integrate it through Home Assistant.
