JSTRONG
Anyone know why the small bottom section of the T3 wireless 7" does not respond to touch on the bottom (pause, play, volume power, etc..) or if its possible to re-calibrate? Thanks
thegreatheed
Restore factory settings in the menu. You may need to recreate the network settings afterward to reconnect to your network.
JSTRONG
I cant because the "reset device" is in the low section that does not respond to touch
thegreatheed
There's a pinhole button that will do the same thing. Just press and hold and the screen will tell you that it is doing a factory reset.
Gary Leeds UK
Try - Going into the driver and Rebooting the Touchscreen - Shows in advanced Properties - If you have HE
JSTRONG
Thanks Gary and thegreat. I have tried several times to hard reset using the pin method. I held it in for 5 seconds then 10 then 20 and all it does as soon as I push the pin in is turn off the panel. I tried the "reboot" in HE and still no response to touch at the lower section
thegreatheed
Oh right, it requires more than that.
JSTRONG
Thanks again but I dont have that "RESET" text and I dont have that microphone. The panel is a C4-TT7 wireless There does appear to be a tiny hole at the bottom of the panel but Im not sure if its a reset so im reluctant to put a pin in there. My reset is on top from what I can tell
thegreatheed
All T3s have wireless, but we're going to assume it's a tabletop. JSTRONG
Brownbatsbreath
If it’s a portable you have to do the pin method or hold down the power button method while it is docked to the charger. Other wise it’ll just turn the screen off. I’d call your dealer. It’ll most likely need to be returned.
JSTRONG
OK thanks. Yes its a tabletop and the volume up and reset press while docked seemed to work but no its stuck on "NO COMMAND" at the boot up logo
JSTRONG
ok the reset worked but the bottom touch is still not working. time to send it back I guess

Drake0508
Not to hijack the thread but I’ve read that there are a lot of issues with the new touchscreens. What are the oldest ones that will function like the new screens but have been reliable for you guys? I prefer table top.
Matt Lowe
this would be an issue for control4 to fix as its likely a defective panel. they have a 2 year warranty if bought new i have 3 at home and they have been great so far for 2 months just about. JSTRONG
My in-walls work perfectly. It was just that portable touch screen that had issues. I found it to be more convenient to just use iPads or phones if I want wireless control
Drake0508
I have an iPad with an iPort case and dock. It works fine but it looks like you miss out on a lot of features that the C4 touchscreens have.

You don’t lose much functionality; however, the always on and direct connection of the T3 touchscreens is a big plus. You lose intercom (soon to be launched for the iPad anyway) and the weather link from the home screen (you can link this elsewhere - e.g. in comfort with an appropriate driver. You also lose page jumping to a camera. Apart from that, a few drivers won’t work on the iPad (mainly those using a direct web interface so there are workarounds for these). My 2 cent recommendation would be to always use a T3 touchscreen for on the wall integration (due to the first point above) and use an iPad (or other tablet) for all remote use. Drake0508
If the tablets are able to utilize intercom, that would be awesome. The direct connection is nice. I used up my four devices in the first ten minutes that my system was installed. Guess I can buy more licenses. I also have fire tablets on the wall from my DIY days. They aren’t beautiful but they work. This one has been up for two years with no issues. It would be nice to have a camera feed pop up on motion so I’ll likely buy a wall mounted T3 eventually. Good point on camera pop ups. I updated my previous post for other readers.
Drake0508
No, you make good points. The camera pop up feature won’t be useful to everyone. My wife really likes the idea and any buy in I can get from her is a plus. South Africa C4 user
Drake0508
My problem with using these other devices is that I’m out of licenses. Any idea how much additional devices cost?

Any idea how much additional devices cost? On the current generation products, licenses are unlimited (if not actually, practically. I.e. at least 50). Not sure about an older director though. I’ve seem posts about limited licenses but all before my time as a user.
Drake0508
I just bought a CA-1 and it shows 4 only. I’d love 50!!

CA1’s are a new (non-AV) controller and I have no experience with them. One of the real experts ( @Cyknight, @msgreenf, @Matt Lowe Etc.) would need to chime in on this one.
