  1. Somfy has some very nice rechargeable motors.
  2. I would stick with Somfy since that's what you already have. The Ultra Somfy motors are very quiet and less expensive than Lutron. I sell a lot of motorized shades and I have never heard of Gaporsa.
  3. If you need help with shades please let me know. Be sure to read my article Blinds and Shades 101 here:
  4. If you are looking to purchase motorized or even manual shades and blinds, take a look at the attached article. Shades & Blinds 101.pdf
  5. Available for both Serena and Triathlon systems. https://www.reviewgeek.com/110865/lutrons-latest-honeycomb-smart-shades-keep-more-light-out/
  6. You can do a quick alarm by pushing #4. But don't do this on the way out of the house.
  7. Apple's draconian rules are the reason I switched to Android and never looked back.
  8. Hunter Douglas has "Banded Shades" (Zebra) that work with their PowerView motorized system.
  9. You have several options: Lutron is the best and most expensive. It integrates very, very well with Control4 and other systems. https://www.lutron.com/en-US/products/Pages/shadingsystems/sivoiaqs/windowtreatments/draperysystems/draperytradional.aspx Somfy makes excellent and somewhat more affordably priced drapery tracks and motors. They also integrate with Control4. https://www.somfysystems.com/en-us/products/shades-blinds-curtains/motorized-curtains Forest Drapery Hardware is another option. They use serial control to integrate with 3rd party control systems. They make the most attractive solutions. https://www.forestdh.com/motorized-collections Keep in mind that with Lutton and Somfy the tracks are very plain looking and may not appeal to your spouse's aesthetic sense of style. There is one company that makes expensive cover poles for the Lutron tracks. I have them in my home and they are beautiful. I sell all the options above at discount pricing specifically for the forums members here.
  10. We are in South Florida? What town are you located in?
  11. Does anyone know if the Contemporary faceplate will work with a 2-gang decora arrangement -- 1 side a contemporary rocker and a single decora outlet next to it?
  12. I'm going to switch out all my lighting faceplates and buttons for the new Contemporary Lighting. Love it.
  13. I bought a couple of Contemporary color change kits to replace existing buttons and I really like them. The kits come with a clear sensor bar and a top actuator bar. My question is regarding Contemporary engraved buttons. These do not come with either a sensor bar or a top actuator bar. Do I need to buy these separately, or can I use the current ones with the Contemporary buttons? The clear bottom sensor bar may not even be needed and they don't seem to be available.
  14. I sell Hunter Douglas shading to forum members at a nice discount. We can also arrange for local HD installers to do the work for you. Contact me at dawn@egretelectronics.com or Dawn@EgretInteriors.com. 1. Yes, the Silhouette Duolite is a great option for bedrooms. Keep in mind that there will still be light gaps on the sides. 2. If selecting the rechargeable option, you can either go with the plug-in adapter, or the external battery charger or both. 3. HD Roller shades can go up to 140"w with limited fabrics, so for a very wide opening you will need multiple shades and motors, or possibly an AC motor than can lift coupled shades. It makes sense to go with a single brand for control, but if you are going with Control4 you could do different systems. Some Somfy motors can lift higher loads. 4. Yes, some of the new motors are very quiet, but not as quiet as Lutron. 6. The wand motor system is called Soft-Touch. It's about half the price of Hunter Douglas' PowerView, but it does not work with a remote control or a Hub -- so it won't be Control4 controllable. The motor is also louder than the PowerView motors.
  15. Serena Shades can be controlled by any of the hubs, same with Triathlon and Sivoia. But, you need the SmartBridge Pro or higher to integrate with Control4 and you need the RA2 Select Hub or higher to control louvered products. In addition, if you want to be able to use the Lutron app, you will need a SmartBridge, SmartBridge Pro, or RA2 Select Bridge. The Radio RA2 Main Repeater does not work with the app, but a hub can be added to a RA2 system so you can use the app. I have a chart that indicates which size wire you need. What will be your longest run? We typically have the wire come out of the corner of the jamb.
  16. I am a Lutron full shades dealer and have sold Lutron (with great pricing) to forum members here. Lutron shading is sold in three categories: Serena Shades (consumer): A DIY battery and wired for power line with Lutron's excellent Triathlon motors. Available in a full-range of fabrics and styles (roller shades, honeycomb shades and wood blinds with motorized tilt). A few options, such as Battery Boost are not available with Serena. Triathlon (professional): Triathlon is Lutron's step-up shading line. Like Serena, it can be powered via battery or by wire. Not nearly as many options as Sivoia (below), but for most, this line is great. You have the option of Battery Boost which will give you up to 7 years of battery life based on the shade size, material and usage. Other great Triathlon options include hembar alignment and more flexible mounting options. Sivoia (professional & full shades): Sivoia is the highest end Lutron shading. There are several different motor options (all wired), many different mounting options, numerous power and control options, and additional shading types: Horizontal Sheers (think Silhouette), Motorized Drapery Tracks, Kirbe Vertical Draperies, Roman Shade Motors, and Wood Blinds with Motorized raise/lower/tilt. Control: All Lutron Shading can be controlled with Lutron Pico remote controls. Additionally, Lutron Hubs such as the SmartBridge, SmartBridge Pro, Radio Ra2 Select and Radio Ra2 Main Repeater can control the shades. An exception is that Louvered products need Radio Ra Select Hubs or higher to control them. If you have Control4 or another 3rd party control system, you need the SmartBridge Pro or higher for integration. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
