So far I have only had one zone hooked up and I have tried a couple of zones so far with the same result. I will try a different set of speakers - the problem is that I am waiting for some phoenix connectors and they aren't that easy to find.

I just acquried a used C4-AMP108. When the amp has been turned off for a while and I turn it on with an active source then it works for about 20 seconds and then the sound dies and the power LED switches from blue to red and all the zone indicators go dark. If I then try again I only get sound for about one second until this happens. It seems to me like perhaps something is overheating or something similar since it starts playing and then cuts out. Anyone seen anything like this before?

A couple of Spotify Connect questions. Do you need an EA-3 or EA-5 for Spotify or will it work if your main controller is an HC-800? There seems to be conflicting info in this thread as post 1 says it won't work if your main controller is an NC-250, but that post doesn't mention and 800. But then a post just up above this from May 12 says that it doesn't work on an HC800. Does Spotify connect use a connection from Spotify's servers to C4 or does it go through a client (like an iPhone) and therefore remain dependent on the client remaining on the LAN? One thing I find annoying with Shairbridge/Airplay is that if I start playing to Shairbridge from my phone and then if my phone leaves the LAN it kills the playback. Does the same thing happen with Spotify?

How does Netplay work for content like Netflix? Is it just played locally on the AndroidTV device or is it somehow centrally streamed so that you could distribute content to multiple rooms/endpoints in sync? Does Netplay support 1x3 matrices? The video mentions 2x2 and 3x3 but I am considering a 1x3 application of smaller screens at a spot in my kitchen. And 1x3 might make sense in a HT room where you have a large central screen with smaller screens on either side.

Would it help if you used C4 to power cycle the iPad power supply from time to time? 12 hours off, 12 hours on or something like that?

I would suggest using a separate computer running Apache to accomplish this in conjunction with the Generic TCP driver. Have the generic TCP drive hit a URL that you create on a Linux web server, a Raspberry Pi will do for this. Have that execute the ssh command that you need when that URL gets hit. I do similar stuff today with my C4 system - I have it launch Python scripts to do various things, including allowing me to interface with my Tesla, like starting/stopping chargin, turnin on the clmiate system, etc.

Why doesn't the iPad app have the full functionality that the C4 TS3 has? Surely things like intercom, Wake-Up agent are technically possible on an iPad are they not? Are they too hard to program? Not worth the effort since the iPad is not always on/connected to C4? Or is C4 trying to connect their profit margins because an iPad app that was a good as a TS3 would mean no more TS3 sales? I agree that the TS3 is a more "fit for purpose" device, but it is 3.2X as expensive than an iPad and, an iPad could have other uses.

Alan - does this driver allow an outlet switch, like an HS100, to be bound to a light so that you can have devices show up as lights in C4? Just like with the C4 outlet switch/dimmer?

It actually is severely compressed - likely using H.265. An uncompressed 4K movie would be many TeraBytes in size. But it likely uses a much higher bitrate than streaming services.

I have my DSC system integrated into C4 and I use it to turn on a light for a hallway. It works quite well with about a 0.5 second lag.

Yes, that did it. For some reason it didn't work the first time I tried it, but subsequently it did work.
