Alexa can act as a middle man depending on what you want to do.

For example, Alexa can sense when Ring Arms/Disarms.
And Alexa Control4 skill can set a wall dimmer to a level.
So you could have Alexa set wall dimmer to 10 when armed, 0 when disarmed. And then have Control4 respond to when light level changes.

the doc is micro USB and teh actual tablet has a USB C port.  So any poe solution for USB C would work

One of the biggest things requested has been a low cost intercom enabled tablet.  This has actually been possible since the 2.7.1 Days!  
Hardware
Right now I think some of the best hardware to do this on a $129 Lenovo Tab M10 HD which has a great charging dock or the $99 Lenovo Tab M8 HD which has the same base but trades the 10 inch screen for the 8 inch screen.
Install the control4 app as you normally would and install the Linphone app.
Basics
Then in control4 you need to add a Universal SIP driver to the room where you are using the tablet.  
That is how the intercom appears in that room. 
Then configure Linphone to use that extension.
Improving the experience
You can use the Control4 in Pinned app mode which will make it be the main app running but then you will miss incoming calls
 
You can also enable Google Assistant Ambient mode to allow you to have a phone screensaver and information screen for Google Assistant.

I´m 100% ripping to main-movie-MKVs using MakeMKV in a docker container with a USB-UHD-drive connected directly to the UNRAID-server the MakeMKV-Docker is running.
You can even configure it for auto-ripping: you insert a disc, main-movie is ripped, then disc-tray opens.
I don´t need all the additional stuff on the discs and i´am tired of all the trailers before the actual movie starts.

I have a DS411+. It doesn’t have enough power to process subtitles in real time when streaming with Plex. I don’t have local subtitle files and the playback is severely affected when streaming with subtitles on.

Jet airplane, huh? guess we are flying different planes.  Having actually compared them - the "cheap" blinds are not particularly loud, in either absolute or relative terms.  Louder than Lutron? Sure, but unless you have some special needs, you're going to be using them about three times/day, roughly 30 seconds of the 86,400 in a day.  I enjoyed spending the ~13K I saved on something other than my C4 dealer and a Lutron shop.  Maybe it's just me

Thats one of the many models we support.  Wish that particular model was available worldwide as it is a killer product.  At under $30usd MSRP it is a great price point!  In-wall for the win!

You can do triad 1 with bookshelf speakers as one option. Heos. Sonos

Wireless has come a long way but still not as good as wired.
The trade offs may not be worthwhile to you as it’s a town house so you’ll most likely end up cutting drywall to get a pathway.

If you're finishing a space I don't really see the reason not to go wired. A lot less chance of issues.

...don't underestimate what a good dealer can do for you here as well. We've done plenty of this type of 'retro' fitting - and as long as you're open to suggestions (ie willing to hear and understand when putting a speaker 'there' instead of 'here' makes sense) - you might be surprised what can be accomplished without having to fix things afterwards.
But make sure to take pictures as much as you can - direction of beams/rafter, wall spacing etc.

I had this situation with a home builder in the housing boom of 2006. I wanted to run low voltage wire, he said NO! He wouldn’t let me pay him to do it either. I cleared my evenings and paid close attention. When HVAC, plumbing and electrical were done, I pulled an all nighter and ran all the low voltage wire I wanted. The builder was bugged, but there was nothing he could do about it. That, and the reality was he didn’t want me doing it because he didn’t want me messing up his timeline or his trades. I had accomplished it without doing that so he didn’t care. 
 
Buy a few boxes of speaker wire, some CAT6, assemble a few basic tools and get a friend or 2. Watch for the opportune moment and just get it done. He won’t pull it out. He can’t prove it was you. He won’t care. 

Will the builder run conduit for you? Or can you bribe his subcontractor to do it?
 
or sneak in right before drywall goes up and put your wiring in...
