  1. Plug Link into RCA Audio Input of Core Add a driver to Composer Bind said driver to Core Analog Input Refresh Navigators Select Link, and start music in Link's App (confirm Links vol at 100% or fixed output if that's an option)

BDavisNJ, I suspect that because the power handling is quite low when the Dim8 has a channel set as a 'non-dimmable load', it's ignored for use that way to avoid people putting any significant load on it. The Dim8 for a motor is only 1/8 HP vs 1 HP for a Relay8 for example.
  3. Yes, driver is supplied by Luma through a Control4 dealer. You need something to encode the streams for Control4 to be able to show them. In the past there was (may still be) an Axis encoder you could put in line between the cameras and any old DVR. But it's probably cheaper and more reliable these days using the Luma DVR.

BDavisNJ is asking.... Since a Dimmer8 can have a load set to be non-dimmable/switched, can he use that setting for the 'relay' portion of a 0-10v circuit rather than specing in Relay8? For instance, lets say you have two 0-10v circuits in a project and you've spec'd a 0-10v module to handle them, and you've got two spare Dimmer8 circuits leftover in the project, could you use those rather than add the cost of a Relay8 for the two needed 0-10v relays.

Nope that's something else. (Trick a 0-10v dimmer controlled ceiling fan to show in Comfort rather than Lights)
  6. Update: Posted on dealer forum 1-30-24 8am. A new HE is built and will be going through internal testing. When ready, it's expected you'll just need to update HE.
  7. Not every client is respectful. Not every dealer is responsive. Talking to my rep team a few months back, it was clear that it's a big issue for many, and for Control4, than most of us are aware of.
  8. I've played with this to relay a couple status between home and work system. https://www.berto.co.uk/berto-pushover Ideally would be a cloud service to store values to be read and updated from both/multiple systems.
  9. No hints of anything. This is prominently structured as a terms/90days notice announcement. However, April 23rd is two weeks after ISC West in Las Vegas, which they're showing at. And if I'm correct was where the formal launch of Core happened.
  10. Other than the viewing cone, the two fabrics are going to be very similar. The slate will have less reflection on a ceiling than the pure white, as it has a lower half gain. But if the room is wider, and you need better off axis viewing depending on seating, than the white is a better choice.
  11. All that money in screen and projector, the best thing you can do for the room is to repaint the ceiling a dark color for $100 worth of paint. if you're worried about multipurpose, and the room too dark, than put in more lights. Will make way more of a difference than Slate vs Pure White.
  12. I'd pay $250 a year to subscribe to that as a service.
  13. Stated: New accounts after April 23 = Connect New accounts later upgrade from a CA1 or Lite to a Core = pay based on director Old accounts add to = no Connect required Old accounts software upgrade = no Connect required Old accounts maintain 4sight = no Connect required Old account new features = Connect Not Stated Old account replace director with same or better processor
  14. Control4 is anticipating that most are going to want Connect, old and new accounts. This isn't a money grab. They could have just increased cost of controllers and included to offset, but multi-controller projects would be unfairly taxed. Instead, there's a first year fee per new account, don't like it after the year, don't renew. Currently, people are upset because they think 4sight and Connect are the same. I'm confident that won't be the case. But they can't say more. But they had to put out new dealer terms, and advanced notice.
  15. Control4 has stated in the dealer FAQ clients may continue to purchase 4sight directly or through a dealer for legacy systems on line prior to April 23. Dealers can certainly stack 4sight on an account, been able for years, buy 3 and no renewal concerns for 3 years. However, many people buying end of the model year cars, often have buyers remorse when they see the new one released. And at this moment there appears to be no advantage, or penalty, to waiting to see.
  16. There are new dealer terms released as well. I'll take this to mean, you agreed to provide prompt service, and you didn't so you need to xyz or you won't be an Assist dealer anymore. No implication it has to do with dealer size, volume, level etc.
  17. Nope. Not on any Beta, no inside info. But I can read between the lines. And I have a fairly good guess where this is all going. Why are there 3 prices for Connect?
  18. I find this all a little suspicious. If everything related to the advisory panel was as presented to me, what possible reason could there be to not provide me with direct access? Unannounced trade secrets. Plain and simple. People keep looking at this announcement like it's a done project that's all there is, it's just getting started, this is a lead in to.
  19. It may indeed address poor dealer service though. Dealers sign up to be Assist, not a big deal but it is a thing and a check mark on the dealer account. Slow to respond to an Assist hand off, client feedback, client recalling about the issue, could in theory (absolutely NOTHING has been said or implied) lead to corrective measures.
  20. 1. Shows as an asset on Control4's financials 2. Allows client to change dealer without affecting service (yes, the dealer set as my home pro gets next months check, not locked to the selling dealer) 3. Dealer only gets check while a dealer, any turnover where a client doesn't change their pro results in no partner pay out 4. Accounting of who's eligible for services, and allows the showing of the contact info to only those based on if paid, secret club access 5. Most dealers couldn't handle setting up an RMR 6. Interest: client pays yearly, dealer paid monthly
  21. I have no doubt there's more coming regarding Connect. Why April 23, seems such a random date? Well, ISC is in Vegas April 9-12. Make announcement, available in 2 weeks, back up 90 days for we provided advance notice of changes to come.
  22. https://www.control4.com/o/assist †Programing may be limited to programing that can be performed by using the system’s “When >> Then” programing functionality as well as adding new products that can be reasonably added remotely. Security system updates are not included. 1Limited to remote assistance for plug-and-play devices that are compatible with Control4 There's a lot unsaid, so time will tell. Will they walk a customer through putting an emitter back on a replaced cable box? Will a client expect to have to when they're paying? Don't know. But based on the first expectations here, a lot needs to be clarified. People will pay for service that is true. But people PAYING for service, raise expectations of service, and often beyond what is offered. "....I pay my dealer $3000 a year for service, and I had to tape this thing on just so I could watch TV. And then the guy who installed it wanted another $200 to come out to the house and glue it. What a joke." Not the house cleaner ripped it off in the first place, or that it was like that for two weeks before the big game, or the dealer suggested using the app, or the dealer didn't make the $3000, or hey someone answered the call at 10:00pm.
  23. They're not programming, it's stated basic when then in the fine print. This is triage level, fix with a reboot, or send on a report to the dealer. This is house full or people and I forgot how to sign into Pandora. My remote is stuck on waiting for network. At most, I got a new TV, outlet dimmer, or added a thermostat. Firemen, not carpenters.
