  1. Are there transformers for the accent lights, hot through and put a Shelly there. Same for the exhaust fan, hot through and Shelly at the fan. 2 KD in the box.
  2. There's one in the online database.
  3. I'm inclined to believe it's less about wanting "Apple", and more about wanting to play anything at will through the native interface. Music inside Control4 is limited by the streaming service's APIs. You can do this not that; have playlists but not search, search but not lists, or limited catalog, or repetitive playlists, mandatory commercials, or limited to a couple streams
  4. Correct, they switched to serial type commands. One side of the conspiracy says so they can charge $16 for a proprietary doorbell button (and $40 for a 'wall station') The other side says so they can do lights and door and more on the same existing 2 wires from previous installations, and it's secure. The MyQ service is where the rent comes into play. RATGDO was created because he was ticked off that his new openers couldn't be integrated with just a contact closure like his old ones.
  5. My guess, because of Chamberlain's history of flakiness. At the end of the day, IF the keys did get revoked, SnapOne will be who everyone yells at. Not because Intrinsic was unwilling to stand up or did anything wrong or whatever, but because you sue the guy who can pay the settlement, you scream at the manager/owner, the one who has the most reputation to loose and from which you can extract your pound of flesh. This is also a breaking new ground driver. I can't think of another driver where the product company requires a tribute payment. (is there another?) And because of the tribute, it's one of the most expensive. And it's highly desirable. That makes it dangerous. Ultimately, perhaps a policy will be made where no tribute is permitted for a driver. I hypothesis that Clare's agreement with Chamberlain has been broken before terms end. Maybe for extortion. "See, others will pay, so now you must too." Highly co-incidental to the timing at least. Maybe even an off the record threat. What if there was an allusion to "If you don't pay for Clare, we'll hang you later with Control4". If you were they, you'd protect yourself and clients and nip it in the bud quick, before it could bite you later. All guesses of course, just from the postings I've seen. Sucks you went about it the right way, and are left holding an empty purse. Especially since you asked first, that does appear to be sometime ago, and before Clare's integration got discontinued.
  6. Control4 tone appears annoyed after all their efforts, and the forever changing terms. Summary, …at your own risk, and we’ll probably get to tell you we told you so. Maybe Chamberlain is finally on the straight and narrow….. time will tell. They’re getting their tribute so who knows.
  7. SnapOne is basically announcing thy're washing their hands of Chamberlain. (Responding to the Clare ending integration I suppose) Any dealer wishing to integrate, these are companies offering solutions, but don't call us, and know there are rules you're suppose to abide by. The negotiations were short, and lightsabers drawn.
  8. Display voltage For a quick and free, you could do a multistate experience button. Green for over 12, blue at say 11, yellow at 10, red at 9. Or there is a third party driver: https://bnet4solutions.com/portfolio/bicons/
  9. They appear to be Tuya. There was a driver for Tuya, but licensing with them was an issue. https://us3.campaign-archive.com/?u=7551a0fe928f1c950c04283ec&id=cd8197c04f
  10. Edited picture probably. Would expect it’s a matrix or moip distribution system with a single controller.
  11. Fast-STAT Common Maker $62 (Fast stat has many models to create "fake" extra thermostat wires) https://www.amazon.com/Fast-STAT-Common-Maker-Popular-Thermostats/dp/B07G2NGFKH
  12. Holiday state variable several scheduled events set and unset Holiday variable
  13. https://www.c4forums.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=7273&key=b3b8315161e7af0e0af46a8566484d5f
  14. Doesn't need to strike the cable, enough current in the air and the cable will pick it up like an antenna. Grounding isn't to safeguard delicate chip sets, it's to avoid fires. The whole National Electrical Code, fire and people safety, not equipment protection. The inline surge will help, but fiber can be immune altogether and cost isn't that different anymore for a whole lot of gain.
  15. Ask the architect first what went wrong? So you can ask the dealer how he'd address those issues. Home theater is the easy one for Control4. The other items you mention will have brands that will integrate better/easier than others. In order for any integration system to work properly with other brands products, it needs software that both can speak, Control4 calls them drivers. Some brands have great drivers and integration goes smooth (Honeywell/Lutron for example) Others are more touchy (Nest Thermostats/EcoBee/Hunter Douglas) and some not at all, (Ring). Some drivers are cloud based and need an internet connection to function, others are local network. Picking the right brands, using local/native drivers and products where possible, and a good dealer will make a successful project.
  16. It's typically not the system that was an issue, it was the dealer. Finding a competent dealer makes a world of difference. Explain you wants and needs, have clear defined goals, and you'll be happy, like most all the other Control4 home owners.
  17. Use webview sample experience button and a URL of choice. NOAA is a good source, and once you've navigated to your local radar the local station is part of the webpage URL.
  18. It's a tight rope for sure. Legally needed to change dealer terms, and at the same time keep the cat in the bag without admitting there is a cat, but the terms have to cover the cat, but there is no cat.
  19. If Connect wasn't going to offer more than 4sight, they would have just raised the price of 4sight or discontinued 4sight and moved every into the "new and improved" Connect. They need to give 90 days notice, and they're a public company so they're keeping the cat in the bag.
  20. I would create a variable to test against, TimeOfDay And a scheduled event for each time change you want to track. Sunset, Midnight, Dawn. If TimeOfDay = Dawn then stop else if TimeOfDay = Sunset then xyz else do abc
  21. Your dealer should have made a backup around 3.3 during the update process. No time line was mentioned, that's the whole post. Couple weeks would be plausible to fix, restart internal testing, and then beta.
