  1. Let us know if you get it setup, I have one of those wands sitting around somewhere myself.
  2. Can't do that. A lighting dimmer works by quickly switching on/off the CURRENT (Triac); less current at one time = less brightness. An AC Fan Controller works by changing the voltage's FREQUENCY; reduced frequency = slower rotation. A DC Fan Controller works by reducing DC supply VOLTAGE; lower voltage = slower rotation. You can not interchange any of these.

  4. Are you sure that’s not a toggle, and reverse direction each time?
  5. Thanks. Can clients delete them from the cloud/history? or they're there for the 7 days. (pretty sure many states now want clients to be able to clear cloud stuff on demand)
  6. Agree it's confusing. Here's how I see it, and I understand it's redundant in ways, trying to figure it out myself to explain it to clients. An NVR is a vault. Large long term PRIVATE storage. Insight is a user interface. Easy access. Cameras are the data source for both. If you built Insight into the NVR, you'd be essentially building a gaming computer. Processor for this, another for that. Ram for this, storage for that. And you'd have a possibly less secure storage as it's now cloud connected, which many don't want. By making it two boxes, you have options for different client needs. Maybe front outside cameras are OK with them for the cloud review, while keeping inside and pool area only private local storage. Some clients may be fine with all cloud and a few cameras, no NVR required. Others, all private. Two boxes, you have all the options. Without a cloud storage connection, you'd have a slower client interface, which is what you have now with an x20 NVR. So yes, that's redundant. But Luma isn't as slick an interface, and by it's nature closed to the Control4 system for review. Somebody other than the vault needs to hold the short term clips for quick access. These short term clips need to be accessed by multiple interfaces. In house, by the Control4 system. Clients out of house, by an app. And ability to send to clients, share and easily archive. As it's more likely to be accessed by people when they're not home, it makes sense to have them in the cloud, rather than local storage. And being real, there's a revenue stream created there, the worlds going there.
  7. Prewire - contact sensors and relays. Retrofit - Genie Aladdin Connect (can do three doors) The Aladdin connect is an add on WiFi button processor box for other brand garage doors, provides upto 3 relay outputs and uses wireless tilt sensors for the doors. You'll still need a MyQ interface to go from relay outputs to MyQ security, such as garage gadget or solder your own. Driver in the Control4 database. https://www.geniecompany.com/aladdin-connect-/aladdin-connect Through the Aladdin app, they also gain things like virtual guest keys, logs, auto close, time scheduling etc $150 for a 3 door setup: Kit for first door, 2 add on sensors, and a 3 button remote to modify.
  8. Do you have a centralized video matrix switching system? All the boxes in the rack and just TVs in the rooms? When they blink, is there a visual confirmation of the TV power state? Is just the image blanking? (Is the TV powered on and no signal the issue, or is it simpler programing issue of the TV power) Got TV power LEDs? If it's a matrix it's possible how the wiring was done, shielded or not, distance from high voltage stuff, terminations, etc. It's also possible it's EDID HDCP communication issues where the brand of products aren't getting along.
  9. We had this discussion this morning. I think the cloud save needs to be 30 days of events, then it would open up more projects. And I suspect that's why there is the alluded to tier subscription model. Clients tend to vacation for more than 7 days, and while yes they'll get notifications, they don't want to be bothered to review them and worry about the house. -> Can someone confirm that when the client turns off notifications through the Insight/Control4 integration, it doesn't stop the history and recording of events, it just halts the push.
  10. Luma Insight Bridge now available. (AI processor to handle people and vehicle detection through specific cameras, log, and send still notifications that link to actual clips through Control4 app) $1200, Includes 3 year Subscription of Luma Insight Manages 4 Cameras, 4 zones per camera Requires Control4 3.4+ Requires Active 4 Sight as well X10 and X20 Luma Cameras, and Chime Video Doorbell 7 Days to the Cloud Customer control of notifications on/off Setup through OVRC Cost of subscription renewal not announced There will be tier offerings, so planning additional abilities Push includes a snapshot, tap opens clip directly in C4 app. Review, save, share clips. See past events in Control4 GUI History section on touchscreens and apps. (Neither says yes or no to TV GUI) Looks like a core processor - power, ethernet, usb port because.
  11. Dealer may be concerned you'll see the mess he made. Composer HE can be added to your account by another dealer, several here may be willing to assist. The installing dealer may change his warranty position and blame stuff on your changes, just be aware some dealers are bad. Backup so you can revert. Keep a log of your changes if you're a newbie to programming, start slow. It's a one time purchase, a code is added to your account to use to login to the software, a dealer can see if you have a license for HE as it's noted in the account.
  12. Lets us know brand, model of recorder, and if the cameras are plugged into the recorder or the network switch; which you can tell by looking at the back of the recorder, is there 1 network cable to it, or several.
  13. FYI - Pico offers programming as Button 1 Push, and Button 1 Release.
  14. Well in this case it was one of the Facebook groups.
  15. Speculation was the Xfiinity v2 driver might work, did you happen to try it?
  16. Congrats on the data sheet. Fourth Quarter / January was proposed on another forum.
  17. There's a somewhat related post on Facebook Pro Group today (T4 scenario buttons not updating properly), you might be chasing an unconfirmed gremlin. If anything positive is added to that post, I'll relay. Theirs the app is always fine, and changing rooms, and coming back will correct the button state.
  18. Did you write your own driver to pull from Tomorrow.io?
  19. Can anybody explain why the ideal goal isn't 60.0Hz, or 50.0Hz ?
  20. Most dealers started with RTI or URC (and Niles and Xantech before them). Then moved on to Control4 as their business grew.
