The home bridge driver uses the drivers proxy to determine if it is a  light. So if it is already identified in the Control4 system as a light, then Home will see it as a light same goes for the fan. Of course, I'm not  familiar with that particular lighting system however I am comfortable that if it's integrated into Control4 it can work with the Home bridge and Home.

You can also use virtual zwave devices in vera and use the c4 drivers to have them in the project.
Example I have energy meters on my washer and dryer that turn a virtual switch on and off when the voltage goes above/below a certain level and c4 can be programmed to react when that witch's status changes.
You can do the inverse by controlling the virtual switch and in vera make scenes to control a device when the virtual switch changes state

You know how the dealers on here like to say the users on this forum are not typical? Well same goes for the dealers on here. All the dealers in my area are audio/video guys that could just as easily use Harmony.
I would like to know how many C4 setups are single room home theater setups with just IR control. I would bet over half.
That said, C4 isn't going after the low end market; they are going after Crestrons residential market. C4 will lose a few people to Amazon that were on the fence but not enough to change their strategy.

I dont feel that alexa is taking any of control4's consumer marketshare. Maybe coming in on the DIY type samsung smartthings, wink's customers. At the moment comparing alexa to control4 is like a tesla vs a rollerskate

Elvis reacted to Cyknight in Spotify Connect in 2.10
As I've seen some questions concerning this I figured I'd give a bit of info.
As of 2.10 Spotify Connect is available in Control4.
Please note that if your system is running on an HC250 as the main controller it will NOT be able to do Spotify Connect.
At this point in time please note that you CANNOT control volume from within Spotify - you have to use Control4.
You have the ability to create 20 presets from playlists to trigger in programming, plus the 'normal' spotify connect option.
This is driver based, and you can have multiple drivers in a single system, and they'll show up as separate connect locations.
This allows you to have multiple different streams at the same time, but also allows you to use it as triggers similar to Shairbridge.
The driver allows for auto room on setups similar to Shairbridge.
So as an example you can have a Spotify driver named 'Connect Living' and program that to turn on the living automatically, plus additional rooms as well, and then add one called 'whole house' and have it automatically switch all audio zones to that connect stream.
I'm unsure on the max number of drivers you can add at this point, but I imagine there is a cap, just like there is for Shairbridge (forgot the amount but it's over 10 I think).
Note that if you set up that 'living' option, you can still join multiple rooms to that 'living' stream via C4 should you want to.

Well there's your problem right there. I speak from experience. Don't make the same mistake I made. Get a reputable dealer to get you up and running. You can DIY it after that and you can often save money using the remote dealers that frequent this forum. @StroTek LLC @AK1 @Matt Lowe @funnyfarm299 -- the list is long and reputable.

I'm currently using Homebridge and we love it. I'm using it with the Wink plugin and it works like a champ. If you can make a C4 plugin work as well, you'll be a hero. My wife loves it and uses it -- and that is the litmus test. She also adopted Alexa faster than I imagined as well. The fact that it is so easy to access on the phone, and it works, is key.
I'd be happy to test it if you want since I have homebridge running. Not sure I need it, but I will test it. "Hey Siri, turn on the news" -- and have it fire a voice scene -- now that I would need.

I've been working on developing a homebridge plugin to fully enable HomeKit control/reporting of various Control4 devices.  Initially I'm supporting lights, dimmers, door contact sensors, window contact sensors, generic contact sensors, motion sensors and security systems (because that's what I have in my home).  I'm also working on a Control4 driver that will communicate with the homebridge plugin for all system devices without additional programming needed.
This will give the benefit of:
    * Direct control of Control4 systems via HomeKit w/ Siri voice control
    * Remote access (if you have home hubs such as Apple TV 4 or iPad) without 4Sight needed
    * Direct integration of "favorite" devices into the iOS control center views
    * Control of all Control4 devices via Apple Watch
    SO....a few questions:
    1) Does anybody out there have interest in such a thing?
    2) Are there folks out there that might want to beta test?

Elvis reacted to Alex Lewis in Changing dealers
Hi @GoBigBlue.  One of the great things about Control4 is that you can change your dealer whenever you wish.
This is great from the client's point of view and I see it as a good way for companies like mine to gain new client's who are not happy with there current dealer as well as ensuring customer satisfaction is met.
We strive for the best client satisfaction and have a number clients that have migrated to us.
@alanchow makes a good point about dealership status.  These statuses are based solely on sales in a particular time period, so whilst a dealer may be a Platinum status and shift high numbers of Control4 equipment, there's nothing to prove they offer the best in aftercare for their clients.
It is possible to restrict all access to you system and I'd be happy to discuss this with you if you drop me a personal message.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I'm not getting consistent behavior yet. I was, now I'm not. I was, then I wasn't. Kind of like an Aggie checking a turn signal. "Now it's working. Now it's not. Now it's working. Now it's not." Hope yours keeps working great.

I've been programming and testing for about 3 hours now.
In my case, things are getting noticeably better. Patience is really required. It takes time to go from Composer > Controller > Control4 Cloud > Control4 Alexa Skills > Alexa Discovery.
Discovery Channel must be The Discovery Channel, otherwise she'll run discovery every time. The Weather Channel won't work, try TWC Avoid the trailing word "Mix" (DirecTV has mix channels. I use the word Grid instead) Avoid starting with a word that could be considered a music genre. If the Voice Scene doesn't show up on alexa.amazon.com then wait, re-discover, and try again. There's a HUGE risk of name confusion. You can create a voice scene name and, apparently, change the Alexa recognition word on the Control4 Alexa skills page. Then you can have on the Alexa page group names. If you have another HA hub or device Alexa recognizes, the risk gets even greater. I can't begin to imagine what is going to be like with multiple TVs that one might want to control with multiple Echoes.
