Sleep is 0xc 0x0034  which translates to 2000052 in QHIDCODE    (conversion detail in the protocol manual, but mainly just hex to dec conversion)
Technically it is Android KEYCODE_POWER in the table.  The Android key code column lists how each HID key is used (or ignored) by Android.

    Hi Eric,
The QHIDCODEs are built into our C4 driver (to respond to navigator commands etc).  Are you looking for a specific code that isn't available via navigator?
Our protocol for the QHIDCODE mapping is at: https://www.video-storm.com/manuals/IrUSB_protocol.pdf
The Android reference for the base HID codes is:  https://source.android.com/docs/core/interaction/input/keyboard-devices#hid-keyboard-and-keypad-page-0x07

In essence, long-press enter on a shield is just a context menu - something that one would assign to info or guide on a C4 remote.
As per videostorm's explanation, this is due to limited available buttons - a C4 remote/screen may not work the same as the original remote, simply because it's layout is different - but that doesn't mean the underlying codes aren't available under their 'own' buttons.

VideoStorm also provides direct access to the colored buttons, plus the ability to add commands for direct app access in case there is an app that doesn't have a Universal Mini Driver.

I've loaded it too but I'm not "using" it. I still much prefer the VideoStorm driver's functionality.

    For the sake of clarity:
You MUST use the IRUSB app with the IRUSB hardware.  This is for purely technical reasons.  Trust me, if we didn't need to spend the time / money to develop the app we wouldn't have.  This app is FREE (so is our advanced C4 driver, BTW).   When the app auto launches on boot, we MUST display a full screen page to the user  (for technical and security reasons). You have the OPTION to load our other apps on the device to change what the full screen boot page says.  Those apps are also FREE.  We don't care if you actually use them, but we do this to increase awareness of our other products.  We obviously aren't doing this just to sell a $39 dongle.  However, our other apps are excellent for home automation projects and do have free options (now with zero ads) as well so you might want to actually check them out.  (Their C4 drivers are also free). Finally, SplashTiles makes a super powerful custom screen saver for your Shield.  That is why we let IRUSB users know about it.  It's a nice feature which is free for home use.

Precisely why as a smart home professional I use custom programming to take care of such issues. 😉

Just take the extra 1 minute to install our NetPlayTV and/or SplashTiles app.  Then your screen looks like this

Not sure if this has ever been shared, but if you don't want to go through the trouble of debugging an app to find the QLAUNCH command, and you have the app on your android phone, there's an app called "Fully" kiosk browser that's meant to lock the android device to only a specific app - well, as part of that, if you use single app mode, it shows the QLAUNCH command for an app.  I quickly found the updated QLAUNCH for the peloton app by using my phone.  Saved the time of debugging it...

It wasn't me looking for help, it was msgreenf asking the question. I was just tagging VideoStorm in case they could help. BTW, if you need remote help, @msgreenf is a great person to ask.

press hold is mostly used for directional keys (acceleration) and ffw/rev.
long press keys are used to access sub menus that are device specific (long press home, etc).

Thanks to msgreenf I'm running the newest driver and the mini apps.  My functionality is back for both the Shield home screen and Kodi. Can anyone explain how the press hold function works? I have it set for long but when I use the select button on my Control4 remote it just opens the app as it always has.  I assume that this is used for moving icons around on the screen as the original Shield remote does.

That function was left.in he by accident but doesn't work.

Message me Today if you like and I am happy to help. Also make sure your Irusb fw is updated on the shield.

They'll need to know the IP address of the Shield for it to work. Hopefully they have access to the router so they can use an address reservation.

I just downloaded the new version and it still has a couple minor typos, one of which still results in a generic icon. All entries that say "mediaplay_android_irusb" should say"mediaplayer_android_irusb" the other is just a mislabeled icon size.
So I took the liberty of making the xml changes along with adding "shield" or "amazon" depending upon which icon pack is included in the c4z file. so the new location names in these two files are as follows:
"mediaplayer_android_irusb_amazon" in the file named "mediaplayer_android_irusb_amazon.c4z"
"mediaplayer_android_irusb_shield" in the file named "mediaplayer_android_irusb_shield.c4z"

This way Shield owners have an actual Nvidia icon for their system instead of seeing Amazon.

Ok, so I did some digging and figured out from the Apple TV IR driver that Jesse Smith made, that the icon locations listed in the xml have to match the driver filename.  So I changed mediaplay_ip_amazon_fire to mediaplayer_android_irusb and BOOM! I now have the Nvidia icons I chose to use both in the app and on the OSD. I was even able to get the logo to show in the identification window.  I included the rezipped file that I made for personal use as a Shield driver. The only changes I made were the icons, where they are located in the driver, corrections to location information in the xml, and correction to the information for "identify_image.gif"
    mediaplayer_android_irusb.c4z

Videostorm offers a free driver that covers most of the basic needs on their site and Alan Chow offers a paid driver with more features on his site.

You'll need to get the pro Shield. On the new models it's the only one with USB ports.

The new IRUSB driver has been uploaded to our site this morning.
You can now use the new c4 "Universal" mini drivers with our app.  The irusb_minidrivers.zip file on our site contains all the ones that are compatible with this driver.  You can still use the older mini drivers as well. App URLs have been internally updated for all apps.   App launching has been delayed by half a second for compatibility reasons  (make sure the apps always launch) Support for our upcoming SplashTiles Cloud service has been added  (new service will launch around the first of the year)
