  1. You are going to love it! Garage door experience buttons are great; response time is fantastic; alerts/push notifications work great too.
  2. I’m having a similar issue with custom wallpaper. My custom pics are mostly gone and I no longer have the option to re-add. I had a catastrophic error which required a factory reset on my EA-5 post 3.2 upgrade. I know my dealer was online with C4 support and 2 patches were applied (don’t know what they were). I’ve been reluctant to re-boot because I was down for the better part of 3 days and I got an earful from you-know-who and I can’t have another outage until after Thanksgiving!!! My guess is all the custom pic files are still there.
  3. I'd price to sell mine with the system or I'd have to invest some pre-sale to deinstall/retrofit - primarily due to lighting control. Several lights wouldn't work without the controller and those that would would require going to hidden locations to turn them on. And a retrofit might be pretty ugly because most switch locations have single gang boxes with keypad dimmers and multi-gang boxes would be required. TVs might be an issue too as all are wall mounted and some on tiled walls that really require remote additional sources or you would spoil a really clean look. But you never know what a specific buyer will want . . . might be a shock to find out the cost of the house without the system is more due to the retrofit!
  4. I have a Luma 500 DVR and I use Luma VMS for Mac too. Camera PTZ settings are under "Control Panel" then select "Main View". Zoom, Iris and Focus control buttons are in the "PTZ Control" section on the left (Rainey and dark out tonight!).
  5. Well, our dealers know a heck of a lot more than we do about it! Plus it's his design so he's accountable for it working - so I'd follow the recommendation too.
  6. @CT-Mike - plan looks good to me. I assume you have LiftMaster Security+ doors now so you need the Garadgets. The Z2IOs also serve to expand the Zigbee mesh - so you might wait on the CA-1 until after you get those in and favor their installation closer to the flakey thermostat if it makes sense. Just as a simple test, I took an SR-260 remote to the garage Z2IO install location and made sure I could work the TV from there - like you I had garage door lights switches on C4 so I knew I had Zigbee presence in the garage. The idea of swapping the thermostats makes sense too. Price doesn't look out of line either. My "all in" for 2 garage doors was $520 - includes all parts and programming (for just the garage door integration pieces - I had more work done that was outside of the garage door scope). I'm not sure what a CA-1 goes for - but it seems that is spec'd to solve a different problem.
  7. I implemented the design and I'm happy to report it works great! Thank you to all that helped with review/comments and special thanks to @msgreenf for a great job with all the programming and @chopedogg88for excellent service providing the C4 parts I needed. I highly recommend both of them any time you need assistance. This was my first experience with remote support and I'll do it again without hesitation. The responsiveness of the Z2IO-based solution is incredibly different than the MyQ integration solution plus I really like the C4 "garage door" experience button. Although I allowed for their future addition, I chose not to add a second contact sensor to indicate "fully open" at this time - just one contact sensor for now. Here are some photos I took to document the install: Cat5 installed for the garage door obstruction sensors I used to piggy back the contact sensor Selecting the location of the contact sensor Installing the contact sensor - they don't come with installation instructions and it took me a bit to figure it out!! Wiring the LiftMaster Security+ adapter and ready for Z2IO install Z2IO install showing wiring hook-ups plus final install pic - looks a little busy, but it's on the ceiling above the motor and the items are small so you really don't see it. The additional item plugged into the surge protector is a LiftMaster Security+ repeater for an older car - it is not part of the C4-garage door integration solution. I'd be happy to answer any questions if you would have, but I'll need Mitch's help with any Composer-related questions!
  8. @jcn Not yet. I don't have the Z2IO's. I'm guessing within the next 2-3 weeks I'll report my outcome - and I will document the install experience.
  9. My system was installed about 3 years ago and I find it would be very convenient if I had more functionality at one of my "wall switch" locations. Can you easily "swap out" an adaptive phase dimmer (C4-ADP120) with a keypad dimmer (C4-KD120) to obtain more buttons (functionality)? I have an ADP in a hallway (see photo below) where I really could use additional functionality and would like to replace it with a KPD. The ADP is currently coupled with an auxiliary keypad (C4-KA) to control two can lights per the diagram below (AD30 and A30). I would still like to control the two can lights from the current location of the ADP with one of the buttons on the new KPD as well as keep the aux KA as is. My decision point is I'll proceed as long as there is little invasiveness (i.e. swap 1 ADP120 for a KD120)! Thanks for your help.
  10. Thank you to all - very helpful responses. Interesting idea - do you have logic that says if door was status=closed and is now neither closed nor open then status="opening"; if the door was status=open and is now neither open nor closed then status="closing"? Any other alerts/automation driven off of "closing" and "opening" status? I agree it would be much simpler if Liftmaster / Chamberlain would support an official API. But even then, if they didn't change their architecture, I would still be subject to internet connectivity issues as well as delays in status change. Not life-changing issues for sure (because I had the original MyQ integration and lived with it just fine), but at least I feel like I'm getting some sort of return on my "sweat" investment. The $$'s don't seem awful so far - the adapters are $20 each and the contact sensors are $16 each. Still don't know the cost of the Z2IOs, but I'm sure it will be significantly more than the other parts. And there are other suggested options from posters above that I can consider to reduce my overall cost.
  11. A while back I posted that my dealer wanted to charge me to come out and plan my garage door integration (still never recovered from MyQ driver fail). My new plan is to do the design and install myself and have my dealer do the programming plus provide the 2 Z2IOs (I have 2 garage doors). My request to this group is help reviewing the plan to see if I learned what I was supposed to from all the great previous posts on this topic - thanks in advance. My goals are to control the opening/closing of the garage doors with Control4, display the current open/closed status of the garage doors, carry over the previous programming I had on buttons related to coordinated lighting, plus introduce new push notifications of door open too long, etc. The components that I believe will provide those capabilities are: 2 x Z2IOs to provide the relay control and contact sensing capabilities; I think I have Zigbee presence in the garages now via switches for outdoor lights plus in the rooms immediately adjacent 2 X Liftmaster Security+ 2.0 Dry Contact Adaptors to provide the interface between the Z2IO relay control and Liftmaster motors 2 X Rail mounted magnetic contact sensors I included a diagram of the connections. I plan to mount the Z2IOs and Dry Contact Adaptors on the ceiling above the Liftmaster motors. I'm lucky in that as part of the original install, Cat 5 cables were run inside the walls from the garage door safety sensors back to the motors - I plan to utilize an unused pair in the Cat 5 run to get the contact sensors presence back to the Z2IOs. Power for the Z2IOs will come from the "wall" outlet in the ceiling serving the motors. The biggest risk I see in the project is Zigbee presence in the garage. I believe it's there, but I don't have a meter or anything to validate it. Do SR260's run on Zigbee or wifi? Maybe I could test control with an SR up by the motor? Does it look like I have wiring termination points correct? Here are the specific parts I plan on purchasing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KYGJT4W/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.garadget.com/product/security-2-0-dry-contact-adapter/ I considered the NYCE tilt sensors, but ended up selecting the magnetic contact sensors so there are no batteries and my perception of less maintenance with the wired sensors. I'm currently on v3.0.0 and want to upgrade to most current version via this install. Finally, any recommendations for automation / notification that you find most useful? Thanks for your help - it is greatly appreciated.
  12. Definitely a crack - I can slip a piece of paper into the gap.
  13. The house is 3 years old this month. We are on the same schedule! Good news is this is the only one; and probably the most used. We pretty much press the sides now.
  14. Can an end user order them, or do you need to go through a dealer? I have one that I need to replace.
  15. Thank you to all for your responses - they are very helpful. Before I made the original post, I had given my dealer a chance to change their approach, but they declined. I'm going to give them another shot using what I've learned here. Thanks and I'll let you know how it goes.
  16. We built our house 3 years ago and worked with a dealer recommended by our builder to add home automation from Control4. The dealer did a fantastic job and we have continued to do business with them both monthly security monitoring as well as new equipment and feature requests. I have been very happy with all the services provided by our dealer. To help better frame my question, we have done about $100k in business with our dealer - and again, I want to stress I have been very happy with every transaction. I recently asked my dealer to quote some additional business - basically our MyQ integration failed when everyone else's did so I want a Nyce tilt sensors for 2 garage doors and Z2IO integration, a new wall switch installed to go to multiple buttons vs the 1 now and I spec'd the button behaviors I wanted (with photos of the current buttons installed included in my email), plus an upgrade of the OS, and 1 or 2 small other items. I feel I did a pretty good job of spec'ing the work and on previous requests, my salesman has praised the detail included in my work requests because he says, "it's so detailed we can't screw this up". And I realize that's just a "figure of speech", but my point is I do everything I can to remove ambiguity in my requests. The issue I have now is that I got a response from my dealer on my last work request that they want to send someone out to spec my requests - which is ok - but they want to charge me an hourly rate to spec the work. I just don't feel like I should have to pay someone to work up a sales estimate for the job I want done. I feel like my dealer did the entire install, I have never used anyone else to do any work on my system, and I have never wasted their time with frivolous requests - if I ask for it, I'm pretty much doing it. I sure don't work with that business model with any other vendors I use for work on my home. Do other dealers charge customers that fit my profile to spec new work? Am I being unreasonable? Thanks for your help. I'm considering changing vendors and I really don't want to. I'm looking for a reason not to change, but I also don't see paying for something that should not be a charge.
  17. Approximately 3 years old and in excellent condition. I just upgraded to Triad amp and switch. $675 includes shipping in the continental US. Just what is shown in the photos - you will need a power cord. If interested please message me. Thank you.
  18. I have 3 pair of Legrand evoQ 3000 series MS3800 8" In-Ceiling speakers with all mounting hardware, screen covers, rims, mounting screws, etc. for sale. The speakers are about 3 years old and work great. I have them because I recently upgraded to Klipsch in 3 rooms. $125 per pair each including shipping in the continental US or $300 for all 3 pairs including shipping in the continental US If you are interested, please message me. Thank you.
  19. Agree. I have 4 LG TV's and have used the Annex4 drivers for over 2 years with no issues. I do have all TV's hard wired.
  20. I have a buddy that tries to discourage hackers and uses "VIRUS_PIT" as his SSID. I always get a chuckle when I go to his place.
  21. It's fixed now - I needed a driver update. Thanks Mitch.
  22. I've used Deezer based on my dealer recommendation for over 2 years and really enjoy the service and Control4 integration. Yesterday, I upgraded Deezer service to HIFI+. I have an EA-5 v1 running 3.0.0. The issue I'm having is that when I check the "info" item for the tracks playing, it's always MP3 vs. FLAC. My account info checked via the EA says HIFI service level; I've logged in and out of my Deezer account; I've deleted and re-added a couple of tracks and re-played; I've searched and played brand new tracks - all resulting in MP3 service level actually being played. Is there a something I'm not doing? Thanks for your help.
