  1. I generally double up on the toast messages and regular push notifications - garage door open/closed; garage door left open, etc. They are only up there for seconds.
  2. @rea I just got notified of an update on the Deezer API - my playlists are all back working on both Sonos and Control4. You should give it a try and see if your problem is resolved. Good luck!
  3. I received a response from the Deezer Community manager that the problem is being addressed now. Here's a link to the post. https://en.deezercommunity.com/other-devices-49/cannot-browse-playlist-deezer-music-from-within-sonos-or-control4-68661?postid=184669#post184669
  4. I guess I should have added that when I access the playlists directly from the Deezer app, all the songs are there and they play just fine.
  5. I'm having the same problem with a few of my playlists. I get the same behavior whether I'm trying to play the list from C4 or from Sonos. I posted on the Deezer forum and at least one other is having the same problem for lists that have worked for years. My guess is that something changed on the Deezer API recently.
  6. My dealer recommended Deezer at the time of our install and we've had it for almost 4 years. The C4 integration is great; Deezer is also available on Sonos. Deezer has browser access as well as apps for your mobile devices. We've been very happy with it.
  7. My dealer installed Luxul gear with my system install during my new home build 4 years ago. I have an ABR-4500 router, 2 24-port switches, XWC-1000 AP controller, and 3 XAP-1410 APs. I think if you search this site, you'll find a lot of negative opinions of Luxul gear. In my 4 years of using the gear - I've found it to be reliable with solid performance. I've gone through multiple firmware upgrades with only one issue in being able to connect to an AP with an old Mac - my wife's newer Mac didn't have the problem so not sure who's issue it was. So the good is it's always been there and I can maintain it myself (and I'm comfortable doing that) plus I have a dealer for backup. The AP controller is good at publishing configs to the AP's and updating firmware on them too, so you aren't logging into them by the one's to make updates. I really haven't tested whether it's any good at managing the AP to which you are connected. I can tell you I don't perceive any roaming issues. The things I don't like about the gear is that while the router's GUI works with Safari, the XWC-1000 does not - I have to use Chrome. The issue for me isn't using Chrome per se (although I'd prefer not), it's the potential lack of architectural development standards exposed by the issue. Maybe use of Safari is just lucky on the router, but I doubt it. Probably two different development teams not quite on the same page. The other thing I'd like to see on the router is support for an external VPN service. The router has it's own VPN server for support of access back to your network, but you'd have to utilize a client-based solution if you wanted an external provider. Finally, it is a dealer based solution - which is great - but it means support documentation is very limited. Between YouTube's, the documentation that you can find, and the intuitiveness of the applications themselves, I haven't found it to be that big a deal. But you do feel like you are flying a little blind sometime. While you can back up your config files, there isn't across the board functionality to restore the configs - some of the equipment has a restore function and some does not. And, I can always take screen captures and call my dealer if I need serious support. All-in-all, the gear does what it is supposed to do and I've been happy with it. If I was replacing all the gear today, I'd probably be doing a serious price vs. feature comparison and an important key would be continued overall support from my dealer. I'd want to fully understand their position if I "went off the reservation" so to speak. Plus I'd want to give them a shot at the business. So the bottom line is while it wouldn't be a "slam dunk" to buy it all again, I can certainly envision several scenarios where I would.
  8. Not sure this is of much worth to you, but I went through the same process when we built our home. We live in southwest Florida 10 miles from the beach and I researched outdoor TVs for our lanai (fully covered but open air). I ended up putting up an old 35" Sony (essentially free since I had no where else to use it) on one wall and bought a 2nd tier LG 4k (just under OLED level) in the main viewing area. Assuming a useful life for a proper outdoor TV of 8 years, I figured a break-even on cost of 2-3 years. Lucky for me we will have been moved in for 4 years this April and both TVs are going strong so I'm happy with my decision. I also use the Annex driver for the LGs and I've been very happy with that too. But I get it for you, the last thing you want with a beach home is to have to mess with a TV when your time there is limited as it is - and so I'm guessing reliability is a very high priority requirement. We live here year around so our priorities are probably a bit different.
  9. BTW - My experience with the Bond Bridge has been fantastic. I learned about it through this forum and did a lot of reading posts, Chowmain’s driver doc, Bond forum, etc. The product has worked as advertised-easy to install and add devices. I got away with one bridge to control 6 fans, 3 hurricane shades, and 1 fireplace situated in 4 different rooms-your mileage may vary as it’s just like wifi AP’s - range is dependent on construction and other obstructions between the source and target. Wife uses it daily. I haven’t integrated to C4 yet because I wanted to determine reliability and usefulness of 1-way integration. And I’m totally happy with the product and will be integrating to C4. There are ways to get at least the fans to 2-way integration, but I don’t plan to do those mods at this point.
  10. Bond works on my fireplace pretty well - on, off and Hi flame buttons work; Low button does not. But it varies by make and model. Bond documentation and support is very responsive with compatibility answers if you send them a picture of your remote with FCC ID. This Bond link also provides good feedback on supported devices - it uses FCC ID as input: https://bondhome.io/supported-devices/
  11. I would imagine if you get a Mac with the new M1 chip you can run the C4 app on your Mac - the M1 runs all the other IOS apps natively. But I haven't seen it run - has anyone tried? The link for the M1 on the Apple site states (well down the page) that the M1 Mac runs all iPhone and iPad apps. Phone and iPad apps For the first time, you can run your favorite iPhone and iPad apps directly on Mac. That means more games to play. More content to watch. And more apps for all the things you love to do. They work and behave like true Mac apps — with a menu bar, support for resizable windows, mouse and trackpad control, and more. iPhone and iPad apps you purchased previously that are now available for Mac can simply be downloaded from your purchased list. And, of course, they’re available on the Mac App Store. https://www.apple.com/mac/m1/
  12. Looks like you may have already compared driver / TVOS alignment - but any chance a new version of TVOS got auto-installed last night? Or a driver auto-update?
  13. @DLite - how reliable is the cloud service during an outage? I wanted it, but ended up not buying the cloud service because whenever our power goes out, it seems the internet is down with it (my ISP is Comcast). Maybe it connects via cell service and I just didn't investigate enough!?!?
  14. Or send a push notification to your phone when the TV is turned on between certain hours. Doesn't keep the TV from being turned on, but at least you know it happened.
  15. I bought the C4-LU862D video switch 3 years ago and I'm glad I did. I love the functionality and it's performed very well. However, I wouldn't buy it today. The main reason is I need HDBaseT and the online data sheet says the LU862D still maxes out at 4:2:0 at 4K60 which means the box still uses the old Valens chip set for its HDBaseT implementation. The Valens Stello chip family has been out for a while and it looks like the AVPro Edge HDBaseT matrix has incorporated as its rated at 4:4:4 at 4K60. And it looks like the AVPro operates in mixed mode (4K and 1080p) environments - which is perfect because I have an old Pioneer Elite TV that I just can't seem to give up! So I only get 1080P via the LU862D on all my 4K TVs.
  16. Does anyone know whether this product is shipping or if not, an ETA? TIA
  17. I have a strange problem with my DS2 that my dealer and I can't figure out. I have an EA-5 on 3.2.1 and a DS2 with hardware version 570v5 and firmware version 2.25.2.34.15. I also have a Luma 501 DVR with 2 security cams. The video feed from the 2 Luma cams and the DS2 are combined into the C4 Security Camera view. My problem is the DS2 video will not show on the 4 - camera view pane, but the 2 Luma cams will. The DS2 video will show when in single camera view. I also get stills under History from the DS2 via motion detection events. We get the same result on all types of end user devices - T3, iPhone, iPad, TV OSD, etc. I'm not sure how the problem started because I don't view the cameras every day - I just went to view one day and saw the problem. On that day, I found the DS2 totally hosed with no ability to log directly into the DS2 UI nor a response from a basic ping. I disconnected and reconnected the POE feed to reboot and the DS2 came back up fine with the exception of the 4-cam live video restored. To try and fix, my dealer did the basic reboot and factory restore of the DS2 steps, but neither have resolved the problem. The support tech went offline to research further a few days ago. Any ideas for next steps?
  18. I don’t have HE, but 5:30a is > 5:00a Why not use 5:00p instead do 5a?
  19. We built our house with the system integrated into the build plan. In my case, I'd price the house assuming the C4 infrastructure goes with it. Most of the gear has near zero market value after 3 years so removing it doesn't provide me much value. If the buyer didn't want the light control capability, it would be a non-trivial cost to retrofit by installing multi-gang box traditional switches at all the places where I have single-gang, multi-button KD's, re-run speaker wires to local sites, etc. So I'd explain/demo to the buyer the benefits and capabilities of the system, the challenges of de-installing the system, and the many decisions and options for how to de-install partial scope. If after that they still didn't want the system, I'd recommend they contract with someone after the sale to retrofit (and cross my fingers I didn't lose the buyer). I view it more like a decision on whether to remodel the kitchen before you sell the house. Or selling a car with the Nav system originally installed and the buyer may be happy using their phone instead to save some $$. You have to look at your own situation and market and make your best call. No OSFA on this one.
  20. I had a follow-up session with my dealer support and all but 1 of the custom pic files were not present in the system. They believe the loss of the custom pics was due to a problem on the factory restore (vs a 3.2 issue). So I had to retake pics and apply after support "cleared" the custom pics from the system - which I interpreted as the pointers to the missing files were deleted/cleared. I now have my own custom pic backup file!
  21. Great article - very interesting. Enjoyed reading the impact of technology on the music industry over the years. Makes perfect sense. I guess in today's "pay per play" business model there won't be any more IN- A-GADDA-DA-VIDAs. Not only do you kill your own revenue, all your peers hate you because you killed theirs too! Another interesting tid-bit was the trend of song titles being shortened so that voice commands don't get confused - even by the "Texan" accent no less! If you have a complex song name, you may not get played because of auto-correct - wow. Although "quality" is in the eye of the beholder (and there are "greatest hits" albums), I wonder if this model promotes overall better music because you can no longer "stuff the album" with lower quality tracks to get it out the door. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Love it! However, maybe the Old Testament God intended it that way, but the New Testament God created 45's, $0.99 individual songs for iPods, and internet streaming services with playlists so we are all free to express our own artistic ability!
  23. I have Xfinity and you can log into the router and change the local IP address of the router as well as the DHCP range. It's under Connection-->Local IP Configuration. You can do DHCP reservations under Connected Devices-->Devices.
