  1. Figured it out. Asset UPnP didn't work. Downloaded Twonky and now it works. Hi, folks, happy new year. I could sure use some assistance with setting up my DLNA music. I have my music files stored on a QNAP TS-251+ and I have installed Asset UPnP on the NAS to act as a DLNA server. I've configured My Music (DLNA) to find the server, and all appears to be setup correctly, as follows: However, when I launch My Music (DLNA) from a navigator, The files do not appear: Feels like I need to tweak something on the QNAP side, but I'm not sure about that. Anyone with experience with QNAP / My Music (DLNA) / Asset UPnP that can give me a hand? By way of reference, the QNAP is on firmware version 4.3.5.0722 Build 20181007 Thanks in advance to anyone willing and able to help.
  2. I'm interested in knowing this too. I just have a transfer switch at my house so everything is run by the generator. I'd probably have to have it rewired in order to steer power only to certain circuits or appliances. If there was a way to integrate the generator into C4 I could see some fun programing - like setting a "power conserve" mode through a variable that would roll-back things like HVAC, # of outside lights on, etc.
  3. Agree with the above. If your router isn't hooked up to a UPS it (and any other network equipment) could reboot in a power outage while the generator fires up. Having some essentials like your router, AV switch, and Controllers hooked up to a UPS will save you a bit of a headache when that happens. I have Kohler and their Oncue Plus app. Before I got a UPS I wouldn't get notifications on power outage because the router was rebooting at the same time the app attempted to send the notification. Other minor inconveniences that might occur: STB's rebooting - if you are taping a game or a show your recording could get interrupted. My FIOS boxes take a good 5 minutes to reboot so if you are watching live you lose 5 minutes. Always seemed to happen during a sporting event at a critical time. TV - If my LG TV loses power I have to turn it on manually before C4 can control it IP Cameras - sometimes if my Amcrest cameras lose power they won't reboot correctly and I'll have to manually reboot them NAS - same, in a sudden power loss it won't reboot right and will have to manually. Misc. say you are on vacation out of state and monitoring your home remotely, if any of your critical network equipment doesn't reboot properly you could lose remote access over something as silly as a 10-second blackout while the generator fires up. Make sure you look at ones specifically designed for use with a standby generator, not all of them do.
  4. Are you looking just to match the other C4 switches in your home? I believe they now make a "dumb" switch to match the decor which functions as a simple light switch.
  5. Thanks, Mitch. Does the Triad need to be connected to the EA3 or can I connect it to the EA1 that is on the same side of the house that the Triad would be on?
  6. Hey guys, Merry Christmas Follow-up question: Can someone give me or point me to an overview of how to use the DLNA server? I have the My Music DLNA driver in my project and I have my itunes library and ripped music on a QNAP. I installed "Asset" on my QNAP to act as a server and I configured the My Music DLNA driver to find my server. So how do I listen to the music now? I feel like the answer is I can't and that is because neither my EA3 or my EA1 are connected to any audio output device. Is this correct? If so, would the Triad One solve this problem? Further, would the Triad need to be connected to one of my controllers to get the functionality? The location where I am considering swapping out my Connect Amp is an aux closet that also warehouses my EA1. Thanks, folks, don't drink too much eggnog!
  7. Thanks, everyone. Definitely considering making this change. Have a great Holiday everybody!
  8. Sorry for long post. Background: I have Sonos - had it prior to getting C4 - and have what I consider to be a pretty decent amount invested into the system. I have a home "theater" in my family room that includes a connectamp, playbar, and in-ceiling surround speakers; a second playbar in another room, and two connect amps (kitchen and patio) with associated wired speakers at each location. I honestly have no qualms about the theater setups as I don't need to feel like I'm in an IMAX to watch reruns of Two and a Half Men or King of Queens. I have zero performance issues with sonos for my TV viewing. My problem is with the performance of the music side. I generally listen to Sirius and Pandora and use the C4 integration to launch favorite stations via a button press at my Kitchen and Patio locations. For about a month now, my Sonos has been intermittently acting up - failing to respond to button presses. To resolve, I'll have to launch the Sonos app and pick my station. When doing so I will often get a number of "Sonos Failed to connect to Sirius / Pandora" messages before finally getting a connection after several attempts. When I think about how I use my Sonos for music, 99% of the time (especially lately) it's in my Kitchen gathering space, which is were we spend a ton of time. My question is - does it make sense to phase out my Sonos equipment and move to something such as Triad? I feel like swapping out my kitchen connectamp for a Triad One would solve the issue of my near daily struggle with just getting the music to play. Seems like I can simply hook my kitchen speakers up to this thing, have my dealer add it to my project, and add my stations through HE. Also feels like I'd have better options for browsing music with things such as room control driver, etc. Let me know your thoughts, thanks everyone.
  9. Thanks. Funny thing, my RC doesn't have an FCC number on it.
  10. I have a Real Fyre at my house and love it. Never tried to integrate it after reading a few posts about the challenges with gas fireplaces. When Bond came out I thought again for a moment about doing it but wasn't sure it would be compatible. Is there a way to check if Bond works with Real Fyre prior to making the investment?
  11. I thought about this, but with a Sonos household...I understand it's not great.
  12. Used TP Link HHS110 to monitor energy consumption on my washing machine to send notification when a load has finished.
  13. I ended up grabbing the OL1000RTXL2U. Haven't had a major power outage since so can't say for sure if problem is solved. Curious, how do I enable "generator" setting? Don't remember reading about that in the manual.
  14. FYI - good sale right now on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Kasa-Smart-Wifi-Plug/dp/B07RCNB2L3/ref=as_li_ss_tl?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3761a12f-1ea8-4546-b00c-380b74c80294&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=21381255011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=SF0E7WGQTECWVWPXM7VC&linkCode=sl1&tag=nypprimeday2020-20&linkId=899b9dbc1f25bdd544170666fc72ab7e&language=en_US
  15. Quick follow-up - replaced the battery and troubles are now behind me. Thanks.
  16. OK, so have been watching TV for about an hour, not crazy with channel surfing and we are down to 53% after being at 100% per my last post. Feels like a bad battery...
  17. Yup, that's checked. Was thinking we didn't seat it right, but after first time this happened I was pretty deliberate about seating it in the charger. I did the ole pull the battery pack out and put it back in trick, maybe that will work. Thanks, Ari.
  18. SR260 is acting weird this last week. Battery indicator will go from full to 0% then back to full. Will get the following as well: Started looking at the setup guide and I see that the charge indicator will turn green when it's fully charged. I haven't seen a green LED for as long as I can remember - it's either red or off: Do I have a bad battery? It's about 3 years old. Thanks, in advance for the sage advice...
  19. Not sure if one Z2IO can do two doors and two contact sensors or if it is limited to just one per unit, but I know that the Axxess Relay and Contact Sensor can because that's what I have in my 2-door setup. https://www.axxind.com/smarthome/relay-contact-sensor/ Otherwise looks fine.
  20. Anybody know how to disable the LED on / off indicator on the HS103? It's great to have my white noise machine integrated but when it turns on the blue LED is way too bright!
  21. Used a Kasa outlet to automate my white noise machine. Can I get a standing ovation?
  22. Layman answer - it's a nifty little driver you can trigger to take a snapshot of the state of devices. System remembers the state they were in and then can revert back to that state later. Example: doorbell rings - while you were watching Roku with the lights at 50% in the family room and the rest of the lights in the house / outside are off. You program your snapshot driver so that when someone rings, first thing that happens is a snapshot of the current state of the media scene and lights are taken. Then, set a quick delay and have the outside lights pop on, maybe the light in your foyer, maybe the family room lights go to 100%, pause the media scene and bring the IP camera up on screen for 30 seconds so you can see who's there. Maybe set a timer for one minute. When the timer expires, REVERT snapshot will bring each device back to where they were - inside / outside lights go off, family room lights go back to 50%, TV goes back to ROKU. This is just one example, there are tons of applications. Search around the forum and talk to your dealer. I have about half a dozen instances of this driver for all kinds of things. For this application - I'll program a keypad button to trigger an HVAC override - It will take a snapshot of what state the Ecobees are in. When I disengage the override, it will REVERT them back to where they were. No need to program an "if" or "else" to figure out what mode it was in. It will just jump right back to where it was.
  23. I like this idea. As I think this through I noted the same issue. Some windows aren't on contact sensors and they are also the ones we tend to open most. Think I'll program something here with the snapshot driver. @msgreenf I'll hit you up to add another instance in my rack room!
  24. Yea, have been thinking about it too. Hoping someone will swoop in with a solution.
