  1. I wouldn’t delete a PM from someone offering to install this driver in my system
  2. Jury seems split here. I have Sonos, mainly use it with Sirius, but also have a Playbar and speakers / Connect Amp for surround in Family Room. Have 4 connect amps throughout the house. For me, the Sonos / C4 integration does everything I need it to. As we know, left to be desired all the things I want to do. Personally I think I’ll ride it out till my gear starts breaking and potentially upgrade to next gen Sonos. Equipment is between 2-5 years old so maybe by then the API will have improved. Wonder what the cost difference is between upgrading each piece of equipment as it goes over time vs. ripping out and rebuilding when the first critical Sonos device dies.
  3. Caveat: There are folks on here much smarter than me, but this could be as simple as: Create a timer called [kitchen lights]. Set the time for [x] minutes When motion detected in living room -> turn on kitchen light switch -> start timer "Kitchen Lights" Program the Kitchen Lights timer to: when timer expires -> if no motion in living room -> turn off kitchen lights Then program the switch to -> when bottom button pressed -> stop the timer. This will create your override. One thing to understand is there are several ways of doing this - you could also create a macro. Don't be afraid to play.
  4. Thanks fellas, I'll speak to my Dealer on this one to make sure we set it up correctly. I have 33 devices on my EA3 so still have some bandwidth in that regard.
  5. Just personal preference - we don't bring mobile devices into the bedroom and would prefer taking advantage of a larger screen that will already be there (potentially The Samsung Frame). On the audio issue - I'm already in Sonos Purgatory so I don't think the limited audio output would be a problem. Actually have an extra Connect Amp sitting around waiting for this MB Reno project. Finally, I have a second SR-260 already so would just need to buy the controller. Its an investment, for sure. Would there be other benefits of adding the EA1? Stronger mesh, more zigbee devices, access to dry contacts? Also want to make sure the EA1 doesn't screw up any of my existing devices...
  6. Me too, Have dedicated buttons on a programmable Keypad. Press and hold for 2 seconds triggers relay, LED color changes. It’s the bomb.
  7. Currently running my system off of an EA3. The OSD/Nav is on my family room. Want to have OSD on Master Bedroom as well. I want camera access, lights and shades, and security system (when they get around to adding it back to OSD). How do I accomplish this without losing family room Nav? Add EA-1? Will this muck up my existing infrastructure? Other solutions? Thanks in advance for your responses.
  8. Last time the MYQ driver went down (this summer) I broke down and got myself an Axxess relay and contact sensor and some garage door contact sensors. Took a few hours to install cost about $300 To do both doors with programming but works like a charm. Instant two way feedback, event programming, etc. Only issue I’m aware of is that certain newer Chamberlin openers require a separate module in order to make the connection between the relay and your GDO’s. Others can explain better. IMHO this process is better than using unpredictable API from MYQ. You pay a little more but you don’t worry about a damn thing.
  9. Hi, Gary, I’m thinking of getting a Frame for our Master bedroom. How has it worked out for you? Any tips for someone thinking about getting one?
  10. Yea Rachio C4 driver isn’t anything to write home about. That said, the app is awesome.
  11. I saw the YouTue of two guys installing one of these with that Strongbox, looks like a pain in the D to install it this way: Is this really the way you install this TV? I feel like all that gear is just gonna cook back there. I see they make a longer version of the proprietary cable that goes from the Box to the TV but it isn’t rated for through the wall. Is this being overly cautious, or the dumbest idea ever? I could have easily fit that onebox into my equipment rack one floor below and run that cable directly to the back of that TV.
  12. C4 Folk. sorry to hog the board over the last 72 hrs... Have Amcrest cameras integrated and get pixelated video stream on TV navigators. I don't expect HD quality, but was hoping there is a way to improve upon the quality illustrated below. Any tips would be extremely appreciated! Thanks
  13. Might be unique to Rachio driver, but I believe the driver just does "run for x minutes" or "off". So if you are in mid-watering schedule and trigger an "off", it wouldn't pick up where it left off when you restart. I think the answer to my question is no, but asking just in case others had insights.
  14. Can you use the snapshot with the Rachio Driver? i.e. Sprinklers are on - someone opens the gate - take snapshot of sprinklers....stop sprinklers...set timer....revert snapshot....sprinklers go back on.
  15. Thanks for sharing all the picks! The Frame seems promising.
  16. Looks very promising! I’d be running this with my Fios box, Roku, and possibly an EA1 to provide OSD for security cameras and security system access. Have people successfully integrated this thing?
  17. OK, don't laugh at my musical taste, but here's a link to the site I had mentioned earlier. Guy has lots of lessons posted by name. He allows you to preview them before buying and once you find one you like you add it to your cart and checkout with paypal. Then you download the video and associated documentation. Every once in a while he runs a sale - like 10% off: https://www.gratefulguitarlessons.com/ This looks like a pretty decent platform for bringing your product to market. The key would be to make some attractive basic videos that all newbies would want in order to drive volume, along with some highly technical ones and / or "bundles" that could potentially move at premium prices. Good luck, I'd definitely be a customer.
  18. OK, thanks for the feedback so far on this topic! After watching a few videos I can see the potential for extreme screen glare, or poor picture quality. Let's please expand the discussion to include other creative methods for making the TV look like less of an eyesore in a bedroom. Feel free to share pictures or links and please do share your experiences - both system designers / installers as well as end-users. Probably should have posted this to "Push the Envelope" apologies for that.
  19. Hey there, anyone have experience with mirror TVs? We r redoing our master and I have 2 choices...mirror TV or no TV. We don’t watch a ton in the bedroom but I am fighting the Mrs not to give it up. let me know what your experiences have been. I found a website that builds custom ones for any TV: https://www.twowaymirrors.com/framed-mirror-tv/ is this the way to go or do they sell them out of the box? Naturally would have to have IP integration for my project. thanks, y’all
  20. Cool. I’ll put my ideas down on paper and get with you on this Mitch.
  21. Before I ping one of my go-to remote programmers I wanted to ask if it is a big PITA to rearrange a project tree. As my project has grown the tree has gotten a little disorganized. I was thinking in a perfect world I could add floors (everything is on the “main” floor now) and move rooms to the floors to match my house layout. Would also like to add virtual rooms for certain devices. would certainly make programing easier for me. is it worth the effort?
  22. I’d suggest ala carte to allow some experienced users to pick what they want to pay for. I know a guitar lesson website that does this. He has dozens of songs up there which you can preview and then buy if interested in. Varying prices depending on length and complexity. You buy and then download it and it’s yours for life. Even came with a PDF of chords - maybe you can do something similar.
  23. Light properties is one that I have trouble with, such as cold start values, minimums, ramp rates. With all the different LED products in my house I find that some dim properly and some have a very steep curve. not sure if that is included in Dimmer Load Setup. Ambient room lighting comes to mind as well as it relates to backlighting and LED brightness. thanks, this is a great idea.
