  1. One last tip that comes to mind is to turn the Sleep to "never". This of course will just help with the responsiveness of the ATV when you go to use it each time.
  2. Lastly on Audio it depends on what the ATV is connected to. If the ATV is dedicated to an AV Processor or Receiver then select what I think is called "Best Quality Audio" as you would get Dolby Atmos if available. If you use the ATV as part of a distributed audio source and use an HDMI extractor this can cause issues as most can't downmix Atmos to 2 channel I believe. In that case you may need to set it to Dolby Digital 5.1. Not everything is recorded in Atmos so it may not impacted that much but I do run into this from time to time and need to quickly change the settings but it is pretty easy.
  3. Another PQ tip is under the Video & Audio settings and here is a pic of my settings. Even though my TV supports Dolby Vision you don't want to "enable" it on ATV and just have the format set to 4K SDR (I am assuming your TV is 4K HDR compatible) but with Range and Frame Rate turned on. Again, this will prevent ATV from forcing everything to be viewed in Dolby Vision or even HDR even though the original content was not mastered that way. It seems somewhat counter-intuitive on the settings but that seems to be the best general consensus from the PQ "experts"..
  4. As for picture quality be sure to go to settings>video and audio>match content and turn on Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate. This will adjust the HDR and Frame rate to match whatever the original content is supposed to have. If not then ATV will force HDR even for non-HDR content which blows out the image quality.

    Roon

@time2jet can you post any screenshots as to how Roon and C4 integrate? I have been following Roon for a little while and it is definitely interesting and something I might like to potentially incorporate into my system in the future.
  6. Are you looking for tips and tricks in the setup menu as far as picture & audio quality etc?
  7. Sounds like a good move and I agree that Mitch is great to work with.
  8. I was just researching this comparison as well. It looks like you get access to Rachio's weather station list (which is pretty large) free of charge vs. with Hunter's Hydrawise you would need to subscribe to their paid app to get a comparable list. I think it was like $63 a year for Hydrawise using their top tier plan. This article was also pretty helpful in my opinion as I have a Hunter Pro-C today but am looking to potentially change. https://beonhome.com/rachio-vs-hydrawise-hc/
  9. I have playing with the settings as well here recently as I am just now figured out how to activate those thanks to @ILoveC4. I would agree and say to start with the suggested Backlight LED max and min above and then make any adjustments to suit your needs. I now have the max at 180 and min at 75 and that seems to be working well for my taste. It is somewhat challenging that some lights require this setting and others do not based on a multitude of factors (proximity to other sources of light in the room). I even saw @ILoveC4 comment on another post that having two C4 light switches stacked side by side can produce various ambient results between the two which would be even more frustrating.
  10. Success!! Thank you all especially @ILoveC4 I don't fully understand the programing difference between the two examples that "worked" but by going through the suggested one above the results were much better (I did deselect the fully customized toggle and chose the 3rd option). The backlight is much stronger and way more consistent. Before the lights were a mixture of white, blue & green even though I was only selecting white. Now they are all solid and bright white. It is funny how the little things can bring you joy..ha!
  11. Ahh! Is this it? I got it to work the other way but let me try this.
  12. I was playing around with this again and got it to work at least in the kitchen In HE under Programing I was incorrectly on the "Kitchen 5KP" icon but I needed to be on the above blue Kitchen room icon. I am obviously still learning composer so lots of trial and error.
  13. Thank you for the response. I checked in HE under "monitoring" for that keypad and I saw a greyed out button called LED behavior but I could not do anything with it. When I look under "Programing" and select the specific keypad I see under Misc Commands "Set backlight color". I tried to pick a color but then it won't let me drop the action under the script. I didn't know if that means I am just doing it wrong or if mine does not have that capability to have the backlight stay on all the time.
  14. I am curious about this myself as I have wanted to have the entire keypad words back lit if possible. Right now I only see what I think is the small LED command light come on when you select a button. Attached is a picture of my wireless keypad dimmer. If this is the correct model (I think it is) what are the commands in HE to turn it on? I am on 2.10.6
  15. This might help but here is what is in the documentation tab under the TuneIn driver: ACTIONS =============================================================== Clear Search History This action will clear the search history. Sync Favorites for Programming This action will synchronize the favorite stations with the tunein.com account that the device is joined with. This will be necessary only when programming is used to play a favorite station that the user marked as a favorite using the tunein.com website using their webbrowser rather than through the Control4 interface. Update Status This action will force an update of the Status property. Use this action if you would like to check the current status. See the documentation for the Status property for more details. Drop This action will drop this device from the tunein.com account that it is currently joined with. Please remember that the user can also drop the device themselves by logging into their tunein.com account. Join This action will join this device to the tunein.com account specified by the Username and Password properties, and drop it from any other account it may currently be joined with. It is advised that you clear the Username and Password properties after successfully joining the device. Please remember that the user can join the device to their tunein.com account themselves, using a web browser and the registration code obtained from the Settings menu.
  16. I think you are correct and thankfully they have a free subscription option. I was just checking but I could have sworn when I initially logged in on the Control4 side it gave me a code that I then had to then link to TuneIn's website under Account Settings and Devices (see below).
  17. Great timing as I just ran into this exact issue about 2 weeks ago and @msgreenf helped me to figure it out so I can share. For starters I believe you need to have created yours favorites in TuneIn for whatever stations you want. Then in Composer HE when in programming on the Actions side select the room you are controlling, then in "Select Media" click on the little box with 3 dots and when that pop up box comes up select "Broadcast Audio" to find your TuneIn selection. It was completely counterintuitive compared to Pandora. An alternative would be to use the free IHeartRadio driver as those you can create normal favorites on a keypad like a Pandora station. See a pic below for the TuneIn example and hopefully this helps.
  18. I used Mitch's services over the weekend to help install a driver and to clean up some old punch list items. I was truly impressed by his speed and efficiency of work. He was knocking out the clean up items almost as fast as I could type them. When you have somebody who really knows what they are doing it shows as he quickly addressed some issues my local dealer had overlooked or just didn't know how to fix. I would definitely recommend using his services. Thanks Mitch!
  19. Thanks for the feedback on the Intrinsicdev driver @Thepritch88 as I have been looking at that one and wondering how it has been working for others. I have an issue that is preventing me from going back to IR so their driver could be the key to keep me using IP but also being able to upgrade my Apple TVOS as I have it stuck on 12.X.
  20. As for the shades it sounds like your C4 controller is looking for a specific IP address. You will probably want to assign a static IP address for your shades. I had a somewhat similar incident happen and once I locked in the IP address I have been good.
  21. I believe the HC800 is capped at 16/44.1 on the resolution. As for the EA-5 or EA-3 just note if you want to achieve full 24/192 you are restricted to a maximum of 2 streams otherwise the resolution drops just slightly (24/96 & 24/48) the more you add. It is of course arguable if one might notice that difference and there are a number of other factors that can contribute (source & equipment).
  22. agree with @LollerAgent on the free driver. Worst case you try that one and then you have a back up option if you need more features. I have a fairly simple setup with 2 exterior shades to create a screened in porch that operate jointly but also independently if needed so I only really needed the ability to go up & down.
  23. Correct on how the MyLink works but as stated you will need a Somfy remote as well to get it started. I believe the driver is available on the Somfy website but I am guessing in Pro as well? In HE mine says 'Somfy myLink Interface v2.1" for RTS blinds. https://www.somfysystems.com/en-us/products/smart-home-controls/smart-home/automation-systems/control4
