Not exactly. Unifi does not have any rear port switches for example. Network switches are all somewhat the same and usually pretty good by any brand. Now that Araknis routers have OVRC and a half decent firewall they are not an awful choice. Id still use a more advanced firewall.. so thats 3 brands. Network management software is really just for convenience. Most network parameters are universal. The macbook going to sleep doesnt cause APs to go offline. I know this because I run lots of networks both ways.

Because a lot of us pros don’t like those APs…

Continue to run/manage your APs on your local machine. There’s absolutely no reason to use a cloud key or cloud account. The controller being “online” has no bearing on your network/wifi performance.

I have (2) of theses Wattbox faceplate displays. I don’t utilize them in my projects so they have been shelf sitting for about a year. Maybe $100 each if anyone is interested?

No. Old openers supported being hard wired just fine..but soldering to a keypad/remote has been the “standard” for a long time.

A shorted keypad wire could open a garage door. Now they cant. It’s pretty simple and not at all about paid drivers that hardly ever exist.

I dont care about your relationship with Chamberlin any more or less than Snap. If you are selling a driver it should be supported/backed/blessed or whatever you like by both parties. This is a Control4 system and everything that’s part of it is ultimately their liability. If this PAID driver didn’t have the backing of Control4 in all respects I put the responsibility on you the dev. Theres a reason why myself, most of the dealers I know and also apparently Jesse Smith do not support these type of drivers. Theres no slope.

I care much more about intercom broadcasting than video intercom. we all have phones. Most people don’t want to be seen on a touch screen answering a doorbell

I dont know when you got your HA system and Id have to know more about what you are trying to integrate with… however thats usually a huge misconception. I mean most brands support the major 3rd party partner products. Savant list of compatible SS is shyt. We can write custom XML drivers for at least a decade on anything really… I remember years back someone made a driver for the Dominos Pizza Tracker api. Im not supporting systems with random off the wall IoT devices tho. I have never really rant into an experienced Savant dealer that has integration problem. Couldn’t say for sure in your case… We dont need to make this about Savant tho… who’s NOT a Josh partner… currently…

I am a Control4 dealer… have been since 2006. It’s amazing how im never the one bringing Savant into these conversations.. and if you like Josh as a better control system, dont use C4.

Asking what? Why are you buying a Josh screen for a Control4 system?

I dont know why you think these touch screens have anything to do with Control4 integration…
