It’s also IMO but others in the industry as well that an analog solution while still very important in some ways, is an antiquated design when it comes to AV distribution. Something that should be done with MoIP or other digital scalable solutions.

You are talking with Control4 directly are are you taking what your dealer says?

I will only say that the “home screen” is one of the usual audible “wows” for my preexisting C4 clients switching over. It’s not just about system status, it’s an immediate quick button to the zones and service in the UI you are selecting.

Huh? I remember was Snap was so small they didnt even have a booth at CEDIA. They have ALWAYS supplied the rest of the industry equipment. That’s the whole genesis of the company. Before that we were purchasing large amounts of premier AV, networking and CCTV gear from C4 directly. I can buy elevated HARMON and other premiums lines from Savant. This is pretty much always been the case.

My keys have airtags My dogs collars have airtags My kids have airtags in school bags and wearables for basic communication.. all of these things can trigger different lighting and home response for a verity of reasons. …to be clear this doesnt make or break a system. This wouldnt make Elan all of the sudden better than C4. If we’re truly comparing the best systems nit picking theses specifics at this point in technology I think is warranted. Let’s also not pretend this forum wouldnt be going nuts if Control4 realeased native support for Apple/Siri like this…

Yes. I find these things extremely important as options because of the cause and “supremeness” of pro systems but VC a minority request in my option. The native wearable and tag geofencing integration could be more useful by large margins. I also would guess people may speak more ofter into something they wear over a table set device.

Lol what? Full integration would be passing it on to do its own thing? So anything thats not Control4 branded isnt full integration? What are you even talking about? You can use Siri to natively trigger Savant. You can use Airtags and wearable tech to natively trigger Savant. Something that is specifically talked about and asked about here for C4 systems. Savant has quietly talked about this to us for years. This is just more putting your fingers in your ears repeating “all systems are the same, all systems are the same, all systems are the same…” lol.

I agree with this first part 100% C4 systems are really the one that will suffer here. Are you using the AVR for audio? I suggest just getting another ATV and splitting the Joey. IMO ruining dual HDMI zones out of a single AVR is nothing but headache. I do have a fully functional Sony 5000ES that was lightly used form a clients home…if you are maybe interested in a deal.

I would say it’s 50/50. Besides service or SAAS contracts its one of the few reoccurring revenue streams LV integrators can have. I think im asked about it on almost every resi job.
