  1. Iv been using Parallels for over a decade on all models.
  2. The most substantial change in video distribution from HDBT is IP. Snap(Control4) - Media Over IP is their branded system. I would suggest JAP(Just Add Power) or AVPro IP but either way you are dealing with more traditional network data packets and not extended signal.
  3. “..after heavy rain.” How does it get resolved each time or do you wait for it to come back on its own? How is it connected?
  4. This something on site that most experienced techs can sort out through different troubleshooting techniques. Having this problem for 10 years is never acceptable, if it existed from the original installation not only should that dealer be solving the problem for free or little cost. As a dealer, these are the resources clients rely on us to have or whats the point? Do you know how your TVs power is controlled? Tech have been realistically above the old school high voltage issues for a while now, far less issues than the analog and basic digital stuff when you first had the install done.
  5. Yes. You mouthing off nonsense is over my head. You really are this sites worst.
  6. Wut? I really have even less idea on your point. Over 40m people use Pandora free (ad revenue driven) service…
  7. I know Deezer is still pretty high up there on the list of subscriptions.
  8. That means what? I am confused. I am not sure what you see but Pandora always being free and always compatible, it’s been a staple in most smart homes for a long time and widely used by most people I know in general..because again its free. Either way you are giving an opinion, Pandora is one of the most popular services in the US by statistics.
  9. I mean… every client I have uses it. Why would most people care less about free music?
  10. It takes years, sometimes not at all for some stuff from CEDIA to be released. This isn’t specific to Snap or new in the industry…
  11. This model wasnt on any release schedule I have seen so I wouldnt hold your breath.
  12. Keeping this as direct as possible since these are pretty basic things… It sounds like your dealer is grossly under experienced or lazy and full of bs. I would look elsewhere. “Moved away from CAT6 because no nobody could get that to work consistently” … this is like basic AV nowadays. Do you want to tinker with a system? Do you mind individual apps? Do you have the time to swap everything when a 3rd party brand or integration dries up? I would never give money to Brilliant who could disappear as fast as they have come in. I certainly have yet to be convinced/impressed by their reps to install any of their product. Good luck retrofitting those into a standard depth HiVo box. Stick to trusted brands not going anywhere like a Lutron line.
  13. I actually still have a Card Access (C4) ceiling mount motion sensor thats new in box. These are what I had in all of my rooms at home. My whole C4 house lighting was adaptive to ambient light.
  14. I dont know what you mean by buddy up.. but dont give clients the impression you are a Control4 dealer and support/carry a brand when you dont.
  15. I have about 12 SR250s that work fine. Taking offers + shipping.
  16. I have two 7000 series AVRs for sale. Both work fine and were pulled for 4k upgrades. $200 each + shipping. I also have a handful of SR5009s, some work fine and some have bad HDMI ports so I would verify if there is any interest.
  17. Distribution centers (Snap included) usualy dont have qualifying numbers except for premium brands… in this forums case being Control4. You can also apply for an account at many of the Snap brand distributors around the country if you dont want to buy from the direct.
  18. Control4 motion sensors have ambient light readings I used to program off of..
  19. I think theres always opportunities. I do more specific jobs now as a small shop and dont deal by numbers. I also have 15 years of Control4/Diamond/Pinnacle experience. We just want to keep things in perspective. A LOT of what we (dealers) do seems very basic as some power users on here know but you would be amazed how quickly you can overlook something when each project is unique.
  20. Most electrical side work is pretty basic. I would imagine im not the only dealer here regularly taking over projects that are $50k+ and done by a “pro” clearly had zero understanding about high end and custom low voltage integration (tech bros) or are trained only understanding of the tech solutions being promised (non tech bros). Im sorry but we dont need more of that. There are non listed dealers that do small work. IMO…selling single zone Control4 systems is pretty ridiculous. If you do custom Home theater installs then yes, other wise trying to compete with a Sonos/ARC/Streamer combinations is not great.
  21. In a way yes… however if you are starting a dealership I would assume you have some type of estimated projects ready to go to utilize the costs of the buy in, which also includes usually a pretty nice additional discount for the dealer. You would also need to demo said system appropriately in a private or commercial space so that costs is also absorbed. Also as we dealers know, the buy in is also nothing compared to what you need to sell to keep the brand.
  22. “Starting to do automation systems on the side” is also a terrifying sentence…. OP, have you ever drilled into a $20k fireplace to hang a TV? Do you know what a $200k smart home looks like? My point is IMO starting a dealership without ever working with the product and without having heavy experience in related systems (Elan, Crestron, AMX, Savant, RTI) you really have no business doing so. Not only is it a disservice to the customers but it will further damage the dealer model.
  23. So far iv enjoyed them. I have tried a few different trying to notice any non obvious differences. Very much Harmony Lite. I need to order one for home myself and see what can be done about larger HA type integration
