  1. Your 48 port switch is on the older end of Unifi gear.  I'd recommend the Pro line switches if you are doing Moip.

Unifi seems to be doing a lot of work in this area on their switches and it might be worth going into early access firmware to see if that helps.  I've ran the 900 series on my unifi setup and it worked well but I didn't use it for audio, I was mainly focused on video distribution.  I put the Moip devices in a VLAN and enabled all the settings you have above.  Everything worked well.  I eventually ditched it because it wouldn't do 4k60.

Like others have stated, it might be best to pick up a netgear switch and keep moip on its own switch.  Netgear is an SDVOE partner and has all the settings built in to support Moip.

Yes you can edit or create call groups in the communication agent and set the doorbell to dial a specific call group where you can select which devices are part of that group.  Side note....do people still call other people servants?

He is asking if he can forward it so the owner doesn't have to listen to the call first.   I don't believe there is a way to forward a call on a touch panel.

Well, it depends what HVAC system you install. Some of the more advanced systems such as Carrier Infinity require the infinity thermostat. So if standard thermostats work with the system you intend to install great. If something like the carrier infinity you can purchase at driver to complete the integration.

I would ask since they are still in the design phase. No proprietary thermostats. Tell them you want to use your own thermostats.

  4. Standard thermostats work on zone systems. There will be a zone control board installed that helps decode what to do when the thermostats are requesting hvac. Example, the basement calls for heat while the upstairs calls for air conditioning. The zone control board will figure that out.

when it comes to thermostats I prefer the control4 branded ones. They allow the most integration and run on zigbee. They also will work without the controller being online.  However, people complain they are ugly and the relays click loud. Because if this, I’ve moved the thermostats to my furnace room and I control temp in my house through a series of remote thermostats. I have two thermostats per floor. One mobile and one on the wall. I use nest for my wall thermostats as they look nice and could be converted to working when I move out. They nest so not control the hvac, I have most of it automated and I can control the set temps from voice or t4 wall touch panels. I also have a mobile temp sensor that is a Shelly h&t gen2 and it can be moved based on preference. It mainly stays in my son’s room.

Between the mobile thermostats and nest I average the temp on each floor with the temp aggregation driver to get a control temp for each floor. The control4 thermostats get their temp from the aggregation driver for each floor. The wife is happy that those control4 ones live in the furnace room :)

Sounds like a nice driver but after getting SCREWED with the dropped driver support of MyQ after paying money for it I am not so inclined. The I/O module that I already had and now  hard wired to my garage door was free, not cloud based, works 100% of the time and don't have to worry about getting dropped. Ok, just bitter from the bad experience :<

RATGDO is the same as your directly connected I/O module but provides more information. No cloud control. Its a serial connection for your garage door and provides status as well as control of the door. It does not rely on a hacked API connection to work.

And most companies have that money, and thus support, built into the product.

Dan you really need to relax a bit: non of this is intended to be all that serious.

Those companies have a history of going out of business or have shitty support. I'm a fan of paid support models.  I hate lifetime passes as they always tend to go away.  I'm a fan of 4sight to keep c4 in business.

    Video clip history.

As for the other line: I actually don't particularly like or dislike Unifi's option, but much like there networking gear I'll refrain from installing it due to lack of a support channel (I just had my guys rip out another unifi switch that failed, but we didn't install and don't have paperwork for to rma (at least not quickly) as it took down a complete C4 system as well as the internet for the family) - but my (mild) point was that it's opinion, not fact. You're taking my comment way out of proportion.

So please don't throw a 'please educate us' line at me: you made an opinionated statement in the form of fact: if you feel that it is indeed fact - then the onus of educating all of us is on you.

Unifi does provide free and paid support options. https://ui.com/site-support.  If you want real support it cost money.

Not sure how my statement before should be considered a fact.  Its obvious I was stating my opinion.  If you would like to argue that opinion and provide a better one, go a head. Are you suggesting that from now on, on the forum, you must preface all statements with "I Believe" to make sure people don't get confused on a very subjective topic?

If there is a better one out there, I honestly would like to know.  If there isn't a better one out there, I think my subjective opinion is strong.

I really like what I see coming out of Homekit/Apple with the support of Scrypted.

Other contenders are the cloud base systems like Nest and Ring which offer a decent user experience.

  8. Just to be clear that all camera systems will not allow you to scrub a timeline inside of Control4.  There is no native NVR integration in Control4 that allows you to do everything through the C4 app.  The closest you are going to get to that is the history integration with the c4 chime doorbell.

Every other camera will integrate the same with Control4 (with slight variations).  You will be able to view the live feeds and get PTZ control of the camera.  Some cameras might integrate history now.  You can also get push notification on smart alerts (people, cars, animals) depending on the camera and the driver.

Overall, the best experience for camera and NVR software is Unifi. The app is light years ahead of these other systems and scrubbing a timeline is super easy.  No annual fees to worry about either.  Unifi integrates with Control4 and has the ability to do push notifications on smart events.  The integration requires a paid 3rd party driver.  The doorbell actual works and push notifications are instant.

  9. I've officially given up on these remotes.  There doesn't seem to be any hope for them.  They only work well if you are always pulling them right from the charger but its a crap shoot outside of that.  I'm going back to the neeos as I find it way easier to pick it up and in one click everything turns on and I'm good to go.  With the halos it takes up to two actions to get to what you want and this is after you wait for the remote to wake up.  If they could fix the speed issues and offer a similar interface to the neeo I will switch back.

I modified last post but here it is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B978T5FT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .  I hope it works out well!  I got big plans for this!

These run on Tuya. I own one.  I haven't attempted to integrate it with C4. They do not pair with Control4 zigbee.

Your best bet is buy the Liftmaster 850LM.  This will allow you to connect it to your cars homelink buttons.  You then hook this into the back of your Control4 controller (contact sensor) or use a z2io to capture the contract closure.  You can then action off of it.  I do this today and it works really well.

Does the Annex4 driver not handle this?

@Rexabyte is who you want to talk to.  I think LG changed something in their firmware that broke some IP control.

Might have to make a custom driver on this one, I have had some issue with TCL another cheap option of TV. I find to stick to main stream brands of TV as i find they just work - in saying that though can't expect the customer to go out and buy new TV as the same time...

    yeah...like Sony...oh wait....that IP integration broke.

Ok, try Samsung. Oh those FRAME Tvs keep breaking.

Fine...LG it is.  Shit...they break too.

The best TV integration I've seen has been Roku TV.  That API never changes and is super reliable for IP control.   TCL is the brand I stick with and it works really well.

Otherwise....IR control seems to be full proof way to keep an integration running.

I've recently been using fibercommand HDMI over fiber and all of a sudden there is no video. Not sure if it's a cable issue. What other HDMI over fiber or optical HDMI brands are recommended

Are you on Roku?  I've noticed when Roku switches to HDR it will lose picture for a few seconds before it shows again.   The same happens on Shield but its much faster.

Maybe I am wrong, but all my c4 lock cards are red.  The regular zigbee are in fact yellow

The first ones that came out were red.  They haven't been red for MANY years now.  The difference between a standard zigbee card and a C4 zigbee card is the firmware number.
