Unifi does provide free and paid support options. https://ui.com/site-support. If you want real support it cost money. Not sure how my statement before should be considered a fact. Its obvious I was stating my opinion. If you would like to argue that opinion and provide a better one, go a head. Are you suggesting that from now on, on the forum, you must preface all statements with "I Believe" to make sure people don't get confused on a very subjective topic? If there is a better one out there, I honestly would like to know. If there isn't a better one out there, I think my subjective opinion is strong. I really like what I see coming out of Homekit/Apple with the support of Scrypted. Other contenders are the cloud base systems like Nest and Ring which offer a decent user experience.

Just to be clear that all camera systems will not allow you to scrub a timeline inside of Control4. There is no native NVR integration in Control4 that allows you to do everything through the C4 app. The closest you are going to get to that is the history integration with the c4 chime doorbell. Every other camera will integrate the same with Control4 (with slight variations). You will be able to view the live feeds and get PTZ control of the camera. Some cameras might integrate history now. You can also get push notification on smart alerts (people, cars, animals) depending on the camera and the driver. Overall, the best experience for camera and NVR software is Unifi. The app is light years ahead of these other systems and scrubbing a timeline is super easy. No annual fees to worry about either. Unifi integrates with Control4 and has the ability to do push notifications on smart events. The integration requires a paid 3rd party driver. The doorbell actual works and push notifications are instant.

Control4 Announces Core Light - Halo Touch Bundle
DanITman replied to DawnGordon's topic in Control4 Hardware
They do, they are identical. Moving to an EA3 from an EA1 will have zero performance improvements. I'm currently running an office that has 3 x T4 touch panels, Cameras, and alarms all on a CA-1 -
I’ve always struggled to get double tap to work consistently.

I've officially given up on these remotes. There doesn't seem to be any hope for them. They only work well if you are always pulling them right from the charger but its a crap shoot outside of that. I'm going back to the neeos as I find it way easier to pick it up and in one click everything turns on and I'm good to go. With the halos it takes up to two actions to get to what you want and this is after you wait for the remote to wake up. If they could fix the speed issues and offer a similar interface to the neeo I will switch back.

These run on Tuya. I own one. I haven't attempted to integrate it with C4. They do not pair with Control4 zigbee. Your best bet is buy the Liftmaster 850LM. This will allow you to connect it to your cars homelink buttons. You then hook this into the back of your Control4 controller (contact sensor) or use a z2io to capture the contract closure. You can then action off of it. I do this today and it works really well.

@Rexabyte is who you want to talk to. I think LG changed something in their firmware that broke some IP control.

yeah...like Sony...oh wait....that IP integration broke. Ok, try Samsung. Oh those FRAME Tvs keep breaking. Fine...LG it is. Shit...they break too. The best TV integration I've seen has been Roku TV. That API never changes and is super reliable for IP control. TCL is the brand I stick with and it works really well. Otherwise....IR control seems to be full proof way to keep an integration running.

Basic Question - Editing a Variable Value in Composer
DanITman replied to bdo21's topic in Programming with Composer
I'm pretty sure you have to recreate the statement, you can't edit a statement. -
Just get a z2io and it runs off wall power. Has temp and humidity.

Are you on Roku? I've noticed when Roku switches to HDR it will lose picture for a few seconds before it shows again. The same happens on Shield but its much faster.

The first ones that came out were red. They haven't been red for MANY years now. The difference between a standard zigbee card and a C4 zigbee card is the firmware number.

The driver above will install and work. You need to get a license from @IntrinsicGroup though. I’m not sure they will sell one right now.- 133 replies

Trash is strong word and I don't agree. I own both. While the Davis Vantage Pro 2 is nice its also a maintenance nightmare. Specifically the rain gauge and keeping it operational. The birds and spiders love that thing. The davis does not contain all of its sensors on the weather station itself and it requires that you run a control panel that looks like its from the 90s. You have to buy another device if you want it to work over wifi. The tempest has lightning detection which the Davis does not. Overall, I'm likely going to remove my Davis soon since the Tempest has been pretty close to the readings on my Davis.

Anyone tried ratgdo for Garage Door?
DanITman replied to zaphod's topic in General Control4 Discussion
Awesome, Thanks. It sounds like they might be changing their marketing to not say that it can be powered by the garage motor. -
Anyone tried ratgdo for Garage Door?
DanITman replied to zaphod's topic in General Control4 Discussion
Konnected is dropping a version of RATGDO that is powered by the opener. I have a pre-order in. https://konnected.io/products/smart-garage-door-opener-blaq-myq-alternative -
The traditional Roku remote doesn't contain a channel up and down button. Its cool that Youtube TV and some other apps support it. You can fix this on your own by repackaging the Roku driver. Inside the C4Z (unzip) you will find an XML file. In that XML file will be a section that determines which buttons to show. You can modify this to show the buttons you want. Control4 tried to match the buttons that a traditional Roku remote shows. @RyanE
