Im having mixed results, 3 of my firesticks work fine, two don't work at all (cant even be selected in composer). All of them are 4k sticks. For the ones that are working I agree it is great! The ability to load custom apps on firestick makes them a way better choice over roku for me personally.

I hate my vera so really excited about the possibility of something like this.

concept is I'm walking out of my house, the switch is lit up so I know oh some light is still on, I click that button it turns it all off. Yes I could click the button every time but honestly I'm lazy and I probably wouldn't do it if the light on the keypad isn't on to remind me.

My somfy shades are connected to smartthings which allows voice control through alexa. I then use a vera as a secondary zwave hub to copy all my smartthings devices and integrate into control4. For what its worth I don't think vera is a very good hub/solution at all... The only reason I have it is its the only one that works with control4

I’m still having issues with the announcement delay but that’s not new to 3.2. I had a strange bug when upgrading history only showed up in composer. Had to have my dealer restore an old project and then reupgrade but 2nd time it was fine.

I recently added a keypad near my garage door for when I am leaving the house. I have a button set up to turn off all lights in the house using a advance lighting scene. What I would like to do is have that button light up yellow if any light is on in the house and then not light up if all the lights turn off. Is there a simple way to do this? I could create a variable but I have over 20 lights and that seems like a lot of work. Also all of my lights are lutron connected to c4 using the pro bridge if that matters... Wondering if there is a simple way? I'm sure there is a paid driver but trying to avoid that if possible. Thanks in advance!

silly question, once updated to the new firmware how do you get the history button to show? I can see history agent in composer but theres nothing on my c4 app... Checked the navigator screen in composer and didn't see it there either...

agree if you are trying to play competitive FPS but for racing or other type games or just casual play the delay wont be a deal breaker. I use this amazon link with success in my theater room even though the console is in a bedroom. We also have one in our living room that connects to a tv in the kitchen so my wife can watch what we are watching while she cooks and there is no audio delay which would be annoying since you would be able to hear it if they weren't in sync.

from someone who is a noob when it comes to networking what all did this take to do? is this something I could figure out watching youtube or reading some kind of material online? I get the concept of a VPN and I even have set up a VPN using AWS for free following a youtube video but I don't really know what I am doing... I am pretty good at following directions tho lol

Added the announcement to my touch display panel and it fires every time so it is definitely something wrong with the amp triggering... Still can't figure it out though... Outside of the bindings in composer and moving the selector over to "on" trigger on the back of the amp is there something else I could be missing to have the relay trigger the control4 amp? As mentioned my music still works but maybe it is still just using audio sense not the relay to turn the amp on...

I have always had issues with announcements not playing and was told it was because it was taking too long for my amp to turn on. I now have added a relay connection from my EA3 to the 8 zone control4 amp and got the bindings set up. Still I am having problems where the announcements are not playing... If I click execute multiple times on my programing it will eventually play and then for the next 10 seconds or so if I play an announcement it will work. If I set up the programing to play the announcement, delay 2, 4, 6, 10 seconds etc and then play the announcement again it still doesn't work more than half the time. Only if I hit the execute button multiple times will it sometimes play. If I listen closely it almost sounds like the speakers are on but they just aren't playing the audio... The audio is also set up to go through a control4 branded matrix. The physical connections are EA3 -> control4 16 zone audio matrix -> control4 8 zone amp -> ceiling speakers. The relay is binding from the ea3 directly to the control4 8 zone amp. I have the relay trigger slider on the back of the amp in the right spot. The binding is working to turn on other music sources so I think that is all set up correctly... I am on the latest 3.1.3. There is also a control4 av path setter in my project in case that is maybe the issue? I have multiple amps in my project but for the announcements I've been isolating it to just the zones that the 8 zone amp with the relay connection is set up for. Anyone have any ideas?

I know some people put a bell on a rope and tie it to the door and train their dogs to hit the bell to notify them. You could upgrade that idea with a magnet on the rope and an alarm sensor in the right spot on the door to trigger a C4 announcement.

good point hadn't thought of that since i'm using it on my main tv to reduce the firestick input lag... FLIRC does require IR either from an IR blaster connected to a controller or I guess you could use a Z2IO but in that case why not just use the z2io direct to the TV and no need for the flirc at all.

I've also managed to do this using an LTS camera (rebranded hik). I use it at my side gates to turn on flood lights if someone enters and send me a message if its night time... I will say thought its not 100% sometimes it takes several minutes for the notification to come through or for the light to turn on. This is an issue on the camera side not the C4 side as the nvr notification center is delayed. As others mentioned a different device besides a camera is going to be a lot more reliable. For my front door I use a motion sensor to do the same notification you are talking about but it faces towards the door so I don't get to many false alarms. For my gate application mentioned above I want to put honeywell wireless outdoor alarm contact sensors into my alarm system which is integrated into C4 but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Currently I am using a motion detector (alarm zone but in C4) in my living room to turn on some accent lighting when it is night time and motion is detected. The light automatically turns off at 5 minutes when no motion is detected. This is mainly used as a nightlight type scenario when I get up in the middle of the night and head to the kitchen the light turns on so I can see. I also have it programmed to only turn on if the TV is off since sometimes I want things to be dark when watching a movie at night. I also have a 6 button keypad in the room and one of the buttons is labeled light and controls the same light as the motion detector so I can turn it on/off manually during the day or whenever. What I would like to do is set it up so if I press the light button on the keypad the light will turn on for a longer period of time (more than 5 minutes) vs when the motion detector turns on the light. Been thinking about this for a bit and cant wrap my head around how to program something like this... any of you gurus have any ideas? Thanks!

not sure on the IRUSB but you might want to check out this instead FLIRC amazon link. I use this with an amazon firestick, and it is much cheaper than IRUSB... ALso with amazon you could easily return this if it doesnt work. I have a bunch of the old 6 button keypads in my house. It looks like some of them are running different versions. Is there somewhere that tells me what the difference is and is there a way I can upgrade the ones on the old versions? As mentioned some are running 03.19.49 and some are running 03.22.41. All are on zigbee. Thanks!

A bit off topic but i'd recommend making sure vera works for you before going down this path... I have vera it is horrible compared to smartthings or any other hub. I get that you will likely just want to pull the devices into c4 but for me things consitantly drop such as my somfy z wave blinds and half of my other z wave devices don't work at all with vera such as my kiwset locks even tho others from the same brand work fine... As far as controllers go, my setup is a Ea3 that runs as main and does onscreen in my theater, ea1 in the living room, t3 touch pannel, security system, 10+ lutron lights, 17 of the old 6 button keypads throughout the house, 10 different IP cameras, 4 honeywell thermostats, 13 audio zones, an HC800 which i use as additional audio streams and IO for things like my doorbell and garage and security panel. The EA3 runs it just fine although I also was recommended an ea5 to start with.

Price drop to $35 each otherwise will post them to eBay next weekend

Also experiencing long load times. I had thought it was b/c I have too many devices added lately and only running a ea3 as main but hopefully it’s just software thing they can fix...
