  1. Agreed, mine went and then replaced the power supply. Lasted for about a year and half, then went dead again. I used a Meanwell hospital grade power supply (only thing available at the time) and was shocked I only got a 1.5 years out of it. Fixed it again and also ordered a new switch. Gave the switch to a family meme bet and installed the new one. 1.5 years in again and it’s toast. I’m leaning towards design flaw cuz Meanwells last forever usually.
  2. Depends on the turntable, some have it built-in.
  3. Mainly used for audio only sources, like CD player or music streamer. Although I haven’t had the need to use it in a long time.
  4. As long as the camera drivers supports those features, yes, you can use them as triggers. Synology would have nothing to do with those operations, it’s just a recorder.
  5. Since your Eeros are in Bridge mode, it has no business being in between router and first switch. Single cable to each Eero uplink, do not use downlink on Eero.
  6. I buy short (like 6”) extension cords that I use for wall warts that take up too much space. Amazon is great for those, they come in a 6 pack and cheap.
  7. Correct, PDU's and not UPS's. Just an alternative to Wattbox PDU's. Minuteman has some as well.
  8. Digital Loggers are great devices. Definitely no thrills or bells, but they are solid performers. APC still gets my vote, with Minuteman and Tripplite as backups.
  9. Not just a dealer forum, it's all about C4. You'll just be bothering him to install it or program it. Better off asking him what he's willing to work with. No problem asking questions, but when you say you're going to buy used, some dealers frown upon that. Might as well work with the person who'll be installing it. No one here is going to suggest buying used equipment that is not compatible with the latest software.
  10. Last I tried with 14, it barely fits in and doesn't leave much room at all for compression on the wire. Unless they've changed the size of these terminals in the last year or so.
  11. Your dealer friend should be able to answer all of your design questions and expectations.
  12. 12/2 will be tough to fit in those phoenix connectors, hell even 14 awg is tough. You'll have to get creative if you want to use that size wire, ie: use 16 awg from amp to terminal strip/ 12 or 14 awg out to speakers.
  13. Sonance, Triad and Episode are all good 70V speaker options. Personally, I'd stay away from Episode amps and use Crown Audio or QSC amps. Have used Lea Pro and Extron in a pinch which seems to be holding up. Your goal here will be to figure out how many satellite speakers you want (although there is a way to design this properly) and at what 70V Tap setting you want to use. Then add up all the wattage per speaker. Then double that figure to get your amp wattage. Example, 8 speakers x 35 W Tap setting= 280 W x 2 (headroom)= 560 W, so use 600 W Channel. This could also be split up into 2 x 300 W channels with 2 speaker feeds. My personal system uses Crown DCI 4|300 (4 x 300 W channels), of which 2 channels are 70V for Sats and 2 channels are for subs. Subwoofers are typically wired for low impedance ( direct wiring, no daisy-chaining).
  14. There is no direct NVR access in C4, just able to view cameras. That can be done several ways. Either sharing the stream from Synology and using that path, accessing the same stream used for the Synology or creating a new stream within the camera itself and using that.
  15. Sorry can’t help with your ATV issues. I don’t own one nor have installed the latest ATV drivers for anyone. Not a fan of the extra hoops required for the driver but also don’t like Apple in general for many reasons. I’m a Roku fan and always have been. Instead of updating the Fan driver, have you tried to just add it in? Could be the driver that’s causing the crash. Your Lutron issue is unusual. Only times I’ve seen delays from C4 keypads to Lutron, is when the zigbee mesh was weak or not setup right.
  16. If nothing is connected to the red wire on the switch, as in capped off, then just bind the pool lights to the wall switch.
  17. I’d say the only con with Synology vs. BI would be BI has an open source API and you can do a lot with it natively. With that said, I can achieve 95% of what BI does but you do have to figure it out yourself. Some don’t like the camera license aspect of Synology but I find it negligible.
  18. I can’t fully agree with this statement. I wanted to insert a pic of UI Store showing half the cameras are sold out and on backorder. Won’t let me upload it, but you get the point. If it works for you great.
  19. Cameras aren't the greatest, let alone stock availability. Good luck with any warranty support either. They're not weather-rated at all in my eyes.
  20. Completely agnostic to camera brands. When setting a camera up, you can search through brands for quick setup or just type in the url for the cameras stream. Can also use it to share lower res video feeds for cameras that don't support multi-streams. Built-in cloud connection using QuickConnect. I usually setup a local and remote access for each job. I have several commercial systems with over 40+ cameras that I upgraded from traditional NVR's and the customers are absolutely thrilled. Since you already have a NAS, it should have come with at least 2 free camera licenses. Setup Surveillance Station and try it out.
