  1. No knock on you Neil, I’m sure you did everything right. Example of customer relaying information that they don’t have or understand.
  2. Not only that, it’s your dealers responsibility, not C4’s. Take up your issues with them. charging 20 hours labor for updating drivers seems a bit sketchy to me.
  3. How many channels?? Mine doesn’t do this for non-touch but I only have like 8-10 channels.
  4. This is where that VideoStorm switch shines as it does the ramp down of audio, plays announcement, then ramps back up. I never had to add any additional silent audio to the announcements for the signal sensing amps. Which also doesn’t require using the snapshot driver to capture each room.
  5. You’d need the Ethernet option installed on the CMX switch. Does not work with just rs233 control. Then the announcement setup is accessed through the webpage for the switch.
  6. Took a deeper look and the announcements in that switch is part of using Netplay and not directly on the switch, I believe. I know I have at least 2 customers that use it for doorbells, etc.
  7. That audio switch has a built-in announcement feature. However, I don't recall if fading was part of it. Videostorm would be able to answer this for you though.
  8. I know you didn’t quote me but…. who has the time, money and patience to be field testers? I sure don’t and I don’t expect my clients to either. Technology/features are changing too fast and almost all software being pushed out now is a “hope and pray”, while they wait for field reports to come in.
  9. This is a good example of why I always wait about 4-6 months before updating. I can’t afford to be a Guinea pig for new software.
  10. You can keep the walls white by making your own foam wall panels. It’s pretty easy to do and is a fun, moderately priced, project. But I’d also make sure to have a dark material surround for the screen. you’ll be satisfied in the end no matter what. As long as your budget is happy, you’re happy.
  11. Just use a similar model where the driver is available. Commands are all the same.
  12. Well outdoor TV’s typically have a compartment to store said extenders and also covers the inputs. Without some sort of enclosure, extenders and even the TV inputs may not last too long outdoors.
  13. Penny wise, pound foolish. As an integrator, we do not install indoor TVs outside just for liability. So that should tell you something. Now if you want to also get an outdoor enclosure so that you can buy a cheaper TV, then do that. But it’s certainly easier just buying the outdoor Tv.
  14. Uray 1080p has been working great for me and some customers for years. Havent tried their 4K versions yet. I don’t really see the need for it. If it’s a dedicated area like a media room or theater, it should be using dedicated sources for the best quality.
  15. Every once in a while I’ll get the same message, but using Xfinity. Restart remote and it comes right back. I don’t use Apple so can’t help there really. But at least you have a voice option for it, when it works. Still waiting on Roku support, if Roku gets their heads out of their…
  16. If you restart the Halo, does voice start working again?
  17. Or use the wiring at the Tstat location to install a remote sensor. That’s what I do around my area. Install the stats next to the boiler and supply a separate 24v power supply to keep them happy.
  18. Yes, same as baseboard heating that uses a boiler.
  19. Port forwarding potentially opens up a whole other can of worms. Not recommended.
  20. Or swap the box again for one that allows IP control and voice!! IP control has been flawless for me with the new 4K boxes for the last 4 months.
