  1. Agreed, but some people have said that they have to re-link the Alexa skill to C4. I haven't found that to be the case.
  2. These Yolink devices seem pretty cool. @Southerncentralrain Are you still using them? Do you still use IFTT or are you using other ways to integrate them into C4? Like MQTT or HTTP?
  3. Thanks, but it should have been there yesterday, or even Saturday. Wouldn't C4 have monitoring to know immediately when something like this breaks?
  4. It's back now, I didn't have to reset anything, it just works again.
  5. Where is that from? I didn't see it on their web page yesterday.
  6. Thanks, I really like the Open Source aspect of HA, although there may be a downside to it if stuff stops getting supported. IMO C4 would be better if they were more open to allowing end users to write drivers, but they make that difficult.
  7. Any idea if that will require new controllers? Or will all existing controllers be able to run ZB3? Or just EA and Core? Or just Core?
  8. If it's any consolation I am still down here and it was working a day or two ago.
  9. You probably have an EA-5 or EA-3 as your controller. That still works fine.
  10. FWIW, I am having problems with Alexa today as well. Maybe some functionality is down right now. Do you use any ad-blocking like PiHole? I find that can cause issues until you figure out what to whitelist.
  11. Looks like an interesting piece of hardware, especially with MyQ being so hostile to third party integration. https://paulwieland.github.io/ratgdo/ About ratgdo ratgdo gives you local MQTT / ESPHome & dry contact control plus full status feedback for your Chamberlain/LiftMaster garage door opener. Security+ 2.0 uses an encrypted serial signal to control the door opener’s open/close and light functions, which makes it impossible to use Shelly One, Go Control, Insteon I/O linc or any other dry contact relay device to control the door. ratgdo supports virtually all residential garage door openers made by Chamberlain, and also supports other manufacturers through dry contact control. ratgdo is a hardware control board that wires to your door opener’s terminals. The firmware allows you to control the door with MQTT or ESPHome over your local WiFi network which can be used to integrate directly with NodeRED or Home Assistant, eliminating the need for another “smart” device. WiFi is not required if you wish to only use the dry contact interface. ratgdo is not a cloud device and does not require a subscription service. The firmware is open source and free for anyone to use.
  12. For fun I installed HA last night in a docker on my unRAID server and I was surprised how easy it was to setup a bunch of devices that it found on my LAN, including Rokus, Sonos, Hue devices, SolarEdge inverter, C4 lights, etc. It would take a while to properly configure, and I don't know how well it would do stuff like whole home audio, but it is pretty impressive. It runs pretty fast on my server, and no hurdles to jump through for a DIYer.
  13. If you guys are going to update this driver is it possible to have a way to send data for variables to Control4? Currently I can send commands like http://192.168.1.12:52690/OfficeLightOn, but is there any way you could have it accept URLs like http://192.168.1.12:52690/SetVariables?Temp1=26 where Temp1 is a variable that is existing in Control4? Or something similar? Or is there another way to do this currently?
  14. What are you looking to do with the solar info in C4? Turn on and off various things if solar power is being generated?
  15. Are these part of the core Control4 driver set or do you have to purchase from a third party?
  16. Excellent - what driver are you using? You wouldn't happen to know any more about controlling these boxes via IP, would you? I may switch to these boxes in the future and would love to be able to change channels via IP commands for non-Control4 purposes.
  17. It looks like the @david@berto.co.uk has written drivers to do this and other features and they are on Github here. But it isn't clear to me which drivers I would need to control Sonoff/Tasmota switches? But what drivers would I need installed to directly control a switch without needing cloud or a MQTT broker? Just the Berto Sonoff Relay driver? Would I also need the Berto Cloud driver? And can these drivers read temperatures and energy usage from Sonoff devices? Or just flip relays/switches and read the status of relays/switches?
  18. I am starting to play around with Sonoff devices flashed with Tasmota. There are some rather old discussions on these forums. What are people using? And how are you using it? Are you using it via MQTT? Or HTTP calls that could be used with something like the @alanchow's Generic TCP driver. @Amr What are you using? Anyone else using Tasmota flashed devices?
  19. It probably isn't worth it to pay someone a few hundred bucks. I will see if I can play around with the existing drivers. I have taken a driver in the past and rewritten it, but that was somewhat different as it was for a media player. And the driver that I was starting with was not encrypted.
  20. Heater can be much more than a relay, but you can also just use a relay, which is very common in third party home automation. Many DIY solutions just use a relay connected to the heater. That is what I do - I use a relay on a C4 controller to close the circuit on the pool heater's fireman's switch and this is what is very commonly done as pretty much all pool heaters have a fireman's switch. For my pool pump I just installed a Sonoff high power switch (POWR3) - I haven't yet integrated this into C4 but would like to in a way that is consistent with the pool interface. It isn't the end of the world to have them show up under Comfort/Comfort Extras, especially since you can use a shortcut to put them on the "room's" front page, but it would be better to have them show up as a Pool in my system. And just use the connections to connect "Heater Switch" to a relay, and "Pump Switch" to my Sonoff switch or even a regular C4 switch that could be used to control any load. Also connecting a temperature sensor would be ideal, and pool lights. My pool light just shows up as a regular light alongside my outdoor landscape lighting.
  21. Some of these like Govee, etc, are actually Wifi rather than Zigbee. But that is good. And there are C4 drivers for a bunch of these. Another option is MagicHome, aka Flux. You just use generic strips and use a compatible controller - and there is a C4 driver for that as well. The strips are cheap but if you want more than a 10m (30ft) run then you may need multiple controllers or a repeater. A few others have mentioned DMX, you just use the same generic strips that you would for the other options with a DMX controller. Hue is good, but is expensive on a per foot basis.
  22. What I mean is a driver that would use the pool UI built into C4, but allow you to connect relays into functions like the Pool Pump, Pool Heater, and use other sources for Air and Water temperature? Or would you have to write your own driver to do those that would have connections to relays, etc?
  23. Exactly, and C4 has been making small steps in this direction for years requiring a 4sight sub for various functionality, like voice control, notifications. and, When/Then. So many tech companies are moving in this direction. HAaaS
