  1. I think it's generous to call it a rack mount kit - it's more of a somewhat optimized tray. I would skip it and just use a rack tray.
  2. Hikvision Turbo series of DVR is the way to go - lots of high resolution options even over Coax. And a number of different driver options.
  3. Yep. Working with DIY clients tends to be way more interesting for the dealer. While they may ask lots of questions, they don't bog you down with basic stuff like how to access the App Store which for some clients represents a. challenge -)
  4. Where are you located? It seems like you're a good candidate for remote dealer support.
  5. I would also try the relocation of the T3 to the POE switch for testing purposes.
  6. Replace T3 You could also remove it and plug it into your POE switch and see how it behaves.
  7. Are you posting this on dealer forums? Seems like a more appropriate venue.
  8. Your symptoms seem to be Wifi related. This is what the error message suggests also. I wouldn't use Composer Pro as a reliable measure of Wifi performance. Have you used a tool like WiSpy or InSSIDer to review your Wifi channels, and those of your neighbours, especially the 2.4GHz channels? Are your Wifi channels set to automatic or specific channel numbers? Have you checked your DS2 firmware (not driver) is up to date? Have you redone the auto setup on the DS2 driver? You could also factory reset T3 easily enough.
  9. So the primary symptom is the DS2 Mini does not get an IP Address? What make / model of router and POE switch? Do other devices connected to the POE switch get IP addresses? Have you checked your DHCP pool on your router to make sure you haven't run out of addresses?
  10. Unless the OP has a lot of time on his or her hands, the most expeditious way to get the system up and running and learn in the process is to pay a dealer for some basic setup. If the OP is as familiar with home automation as claimed, then OP should be away to the races. We have done this numerous times with tech savvy clients.
  11. Then you should be fine. if you had Cat6 or lesser then you wouldn't be achieving the full 18GBS. If general terms, it's preferable to minimize the equipment and manipulation of video and audio if you have a high-end TV and receiver and are trying for the highest 4K Experience. Having just one high quality HDMI cable reduces potential of issues.
  12. You will be short changing yourself on video resolution if you don't connect your ATV directly to your receiver.
  13. Can you use one of Unif's point-to-point wireless network products to get the gate on to your local network?
  14. You raise some good points and the hybrid system makes total sense, but for today I still prefer some good old fashioned sensors as the primary advantage is still the near instantaneous response.
  15. You are correct about Moen Flo, but the length of time to turn off the water e.g. a slow leak, may vary widely given that it is monitoring flow not the presence of moisture. I am much more in favour of the reliability and speed of response for actual moisture detection rather changes in flow.
  16. @neil12011 brilliant - But no mention of a 7% margin [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, there are different types of shut off valves depending on how you want to install the, water supply diameter. Ask your plumber if it's not making sense. I assume only have one water supply line to your house so you wold only need one. The hub and sensors are critical for alerts, notifications and telling the shut-off valve to close. How else do you propose to turn off your water supply in the event of a leak? For Leaksmart to work you must use their sensors. As I said above, for reliability reasons I would not attempt to get this to work via Control4.
  18. Leaksmart has Control4 certified drivers. Not sure how much value integration adds beyond alerts. perhaps turning off certain electrical equipment? Alerts will already be built into these leak detection products.
  19. Actually Control4 integration doesn't add that much value to Leaksmart, just a nice to have feature. If you have leak sensors already in your alarm system, you should get alerted but no water shut off. To achieve water shut off, you need one of their water shut off devices attached to your water supply, their hub and their sensors for all your "wet" areas. I wouldn't attempt to tie them to your alarm via Control4 - you want absolute reliability in the event of water ingress.
  20. We have clients adopting Leaksmart. On the plus side it has a certified Control4 driver, it works even when cloud services are disrupted (it caught a laundry leak at my home and shut off water supply immediately even though cloud services happened to be offline). So if you want real time intervention to stop leaks immediately, I would go Leaksmart. We looked at Flo, and it does have nice analytics but it's nowhere near as real time or as accurate Leaksmart or other products that use actual sensors in key "wet" locations vs being smart about water flow to your home.
  21. Yes super interesting I am sure our clients would make use of it
  22. Just FYI I processed one extended warranty return and one discounted purchase this week. Hope yours goes through,
