It can be setup that way in Composer HE, as long as the button behavior is to toggle the load, rather than setup as a keypad button type.

chopedogg88 got a reaction from BY96 in Can I program a hard button on the Halo Touch to cycle through lighting modes?
Sure - on the programming tab, just go to the room name for the room that you want to do this in, go to the "Commands" dropdown, and select Record for the circle button (which is the record button, although not super obvious!), or Stop for the square button, and then copy/paste the programming that you had on the single dot button on your SR260.  Done.

You can program the circle (Record) and square (Stop) button to do 2 of the things...see my other post.  You could also use Custom Buttons agent to program a bunch more things but those will be on the touchscreen, not quick hard buttons.

Halo touch doesn't have it. Color buttons are on the touch screen after you select a source.

Agreed on the home screen!  Seems pretty obvious, right?

chopedogg88 got a reaction from msgreenf in Why did Control4 stop making matrix amps?
Control4 has offered a separate audio matrix for many years, way before the Triad line. Same with Crestron, Savant, and others. It's the more flexible approach because (like I stated earlier) if you need to route audio coming from various sources (control4 music, TVs, video sources, etc) to various types of amps and AVRs, you can't easily do that with a matrix Amp.

I don't have any inside info as to their reasoning, but my guess would be that they just figured they already had that in the Episode DSP series of amps, so why create another overlapping product within the Snap brand family?
Separate matrix and Amp allows for more flexibility of install, because you can easily route audio outputs from the matrix to AVRs, various types of amps that are purpose fit for things like landscape speaker systems, hifi/2.1 zones, etc.

Correct - with the exception being that if you have a Sonos port or amp in the rack, fed by audio from Control4, you can pipe that audio to Sonos wireless speakers as well.

Yes it works just like a control4 wired zone.

A status landing page would be welcomed.
that said AV is quick to find, you could set up a dummy room called "Home" and have your locks/sensors/alarms on that page for a quick visual but it would be a hodge podge attempt at best.
Not calling out those who "don't" want a dashboard, but there is a reason why dashboards are popular in the corporate world - cuts through the noise and you can see important things (to you) at a quick glance

The Home/House status page should be an out-of-the-box feature, shouldn't require extra programming to build on a case-by-case basis...just like you get with all of the other competitors...and there's a reason.  And that's half the reason that my Control4 clients who use Josh prefer the Josh app over Control4.
RyanE I love you man but you're just making excuses
That said, you do have the ability to easily see if there is any A/V stuff happening simply by seeing if the "3-line House" in the top right is active...so that's part of it.  Now just need some more of that same idea but for lights, shades, locks, etc.

well then it should be a configurable option at a minimum, because there is a reason every other home automation company has standardized on this approach, and I'm pretty sure you're in the minority.

Personally, I don't think that the notifications feature is insignificant.  That eliminates a huge pain point for dealers and customers alike, and lots of programming hours to setup notifications and then change them again when the customer changes their mind.  Its been a big time suck for me over the years.

Huh? I remember was Snap was so small they didnt even have a booth at CEDIA. They have ALWAYS supplied the rest of the industry equipment. That’s the whole genesis of the company.  Before that we were purchasing large amounts of premier AV, networking and CCTV gear from C4 directly. I can buy elevated HARMON and other premiums lines from Savant. This is pretty much always been the case.

thanks for posting.  I'd just like to see a splash home screen similar to Savant, Josh and Crestron that give you a status of items when you open the mobile app, rather than having to dig to see what devices are in what state. This would be a baseline starting point rather than the focus on the notifications.
