  1. I have had various issues: 1. Latency issues (as you describe) but only in the last few weeks. 2. Unable to log in using the iOS app. 3. The navigator on the T3s gets all messed up (wall paper disappears, wake and sleep Agent loses the number in the middle, some thermostats lose the number, cursor becomes a circle of death for minutes - not seconds etc.). 4. My security driver started firing off code that happens when a panic is triggered despite the panic not being triggered (at first we thought this driver was the root cause, but it does not seem to be). Etc. .
  2. Yeah... I’ve learned... I have too many controllers in my project and somehow we missed checking this one and, for whatever reason, it must be first in the queue... I don’t really get that part. My poor dealer was convinced ha had checked this remotely... but clearly not!
  3. I am very interested to. I would probably have bought the CA10 anyway just to see what it did but given the problems I’ve had for the last 2 or 3 weeks, I now “have to”. I have convinced myself (and, I think, my dealer) that this I have some sort of resource issue. We played around a lot today. If I take any 4 non-essential items out of my project, I can reboot and get things up and running and stable. If I take any 2 items out, I can coax the system up and it seems to work... if I leave my project as is (i.e. remove nothing), it is a disaster and things fall apart within half an hour. I have settled on unplugging one T3 and one DS2 and am going to try and nurse things along like that for 2 weeks until the CA10 arrives!
  4. Apparently it will take 2 weeks to get a CA10 to me... I must say, I am keen to play... but wow what a price tag It had better last me 10 years plus!
  5. Was a stupid error... volume had muted on one of my controllers when the update happened. Dealer is feeling silly as he remoted in and missed this... probably because I am having so many other issues this week, we both over-complicated this one
  6. My dealer is out again today checking on this...
  7. To be honest, I can’t recall everything but I know they are fairly full. Main items that I can think of: 1. Irrigation 2. Underfloor heating 3. Power sensing 4. Gate control and sensing for a gate that is not linked to the security system. 5. I think my pool links through an IO extender but I may be wrong. Can’t recall if an IO extender has RS232. 6. Control of DVR and various other items that I want to be able to reboot by dropping power at the push of a button from within C4 7. Aircons 8. Heat pumps and circulating pumps
  8. Thanks for the interest. What is strange in my situation is that no new drivers have been added in the last month or two although we have added 30 or 40 instances of existing drivers / sensor types etc. From memory, my system covers approximately the following: 26 virtual (C4) rooms 130 lighting circuits (all with keypad dimmers or switches and an additional 10 standard alone keypads) 12 audio zones 3 video zones (over and above the audio zones) Around 10 video inputs (via a matrix) and 2 AVRs Pentair swimming pool, chiller and spa integration (including 7 pumps, 2 heat pumps, 1 chiller pump, 20 or so auxiliary and lighting circuits). 10 “zones” of underfloor heating (thermostats and underfloor hearing itself) 2 heat pumps for underfloor heating and a further 2 circulation pumps. 10 “zones” of air conditioning (each controlled separately - I.e. no central Aircon controller). DSC security system with 64 zones (around 50 used). 12 cameras coming in from 2 different systems 2 DS2 door stations 10 zones of irrigation (using native C4 drivers only). 5 IO extenders 5 EA1s 2 HC800s 1 EA5 (Director) a further 30 thermostats used to display variables 100 Driver instances from Driver Central (mainly Chowmain) 2 Annex4 drivers 3 Blackwire drivers (TTS, renamer and emojis - around 20 instances of the latter). 3 garage doors 2 gates Basic energy monitoring Around 100 native sensors (some linked to security, others linked to other contacts and relays) Around 40 native C4 experience buttons (controlling items like jacuzzi covers) Lots of programming (couple of hundred macros, couple of hundred variables, 100+ timers, 30 or so emails set up and 30 or so push notifications - these have not been set up efficiently) 200 or so movies, 500 or so CDs in MyMovies and MyMusic 6 Tidal drivers 8 Shairbridge drivers 3 blinds 4 T3s 250 Alexa voice scenes, devices and lights / lighting scenes The Wakeup goodnight Driver in a few rooms. A few other drivers from individual developers. I am sure that I am missing some items...
  9. Yes. I cannot get any digital source (MyMuisc, Tidal etc.) to play on 3.1
  10. Updating the driver in situ will be a big plus... do you have an ETA?
  11. MyMusic has stopped working on my system (and, actually, all digital music). But a reboot may resolve this... everything else seems stable (admittedly I have only been on 3.1 for a few hours).
  12. Well, I have ordered a CA10. I have no idea how long it will take to get one to South Africa, but the sooner the better as I am keen to see how it goes. Also, my project has been a bit unstable for the last month or so (very unstable this week and my dealer has been here most days) and 2 of the theories (mine, dealer and C4 country rep) are that: 1. My EA5 is starting to fail; or 2. My project is too big and is testing the EA5 to its limits. Either way, a CA10 should fix the issues and this is a great excuse for a new toy. Of course, if I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say that C4 organized for my system, to become unstable just before launching the solution . My house is not massive, around 7,000 square feet but I do have absolutely everything linked to Control4 and my memory usage looks like it sits over 90% all of the time...
  13. I must say this also intrigues me. I have a large project which has been giving me some challenges so something with 4 times the power and 4 times the memory (presumably of an EA5?) could be a big plus!
  14. I see that there was a new iOS app (3.1.0) released on the App Store in the last 24 hours. Has there also been an update to the main OS? Or is this just an iOS release? Given the numbering, I would guess that this is a full OS release? Anyone know what the new OS offers?
  15. You can set up the Linphone app to do this. A number of us used (played with) Linphone before Intercom Anywhere came on the scene. It certainly works for iPads on the local network. There are other threads on this forum detailing how one sets it up.
  16. My dealer is importing Flo by Moen for me. Is that as good as FloLogic? I originally thought they were the same... but clearly not!
  17. My dealer changed some of the sensors (drivers) that I use for me earlier this week. Reason being that some of the sensor graphic changes in OS3 (although awesome and much cooler than they were in OS2) have not worked so well in my case. For instance, I used the driveway beam sensor in many case because in OS2, this was a very generic looking icon whereas in OS3, this is very specific (a picture of a house with a driveway in front of it). I opted to use the heat sensor, the water sensor and the pressure sensor in various cases (for generic use cases - e.g. sensing power). My dealer added around 20 of these and I updated programming against all of them. Before I started, I checked that everything made sense on my iPad. I then proceeded to do lots of programming against these (essentially copying and changing code from the old sensors). Unfortunately, when I went to look on a T3, I discovered that the water sensor does not give the right reading on the T3 when the sensor is inverted! It does work on iOS. So essentially, for my inverted water sensors (I have 6 inverted and 1 not inverted), the iPad displays the correct state and the T3 displays the incorrect state. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Is this a known issue that will be fixed soon? I recall there being a similar issue on certain sensors a couple of years ago and it was eventually fixed!
  18. +1 for this method as it gives more flexibility.
  19. Based on the above, it looks to me like only T3s are compatible with OS3... but this would (I think) talk to much more than just the screensaver!
  20. The following was posted by someone in a thread when OS3 was released: To upgrade to OS 3, current control4 systems must be 2.9.0 or higher. 1.1 Must be Removed & Requires Intervention If the following items are in the project, the Upgrade Advisor will report them and block the upgrade. Once the offending items are addressed, Upgrade Advisor can be run again. Controllers (1) - HC-250 Touch Screens (5) - 7" In-Wall v2, 7" Portable v2, 5" In-Wall (FKA: Infinity Edge), 7" In-Wall (FKA: Infinity Edge), 7" In-Wall RevB (FKA: Infinity Edge) Door Stations (2) - Exterior Door Station, Interior Door Station AV (1) – Speaker Point IP Cameras that utilize the Camera proxy v1 WakeUp agent (the Wakeup/Goodnight agent should be used instead) Security systems that utilize V1 Security Drivers Blinds that utilize the Blinds v2 proxy 1.2 Limited Functionality If the following items are in the project, the Upgrade Advisor will not block the install but instead will provide an informational message. iPod proxy – Transport controls (play, skip, pause, etc) are no longer supported in graphical user interfaces for drivers that use the iPod proxy. Controller (1) – HC-800 – The HC-800 is supported in OS 3. However, the Flash-based Navigator is discontinued so there is no on-screen display (OSD) for the HC-800. Within Composer, the Upgrade Advisor report will indicate that the HC-800 is supported, but it will not include the OSD. 1.3 No Longer Supported & No Intervention Required The following items will either be removed automatically from a project during upgrade (if they exist in a project) or no longer supported. Web Nav Access (2) – WebHTML and WebNav(flashnav) Apple Watch MyHomePC Legacy Audio EADev Driver Generic Media MyHome Drivers – control4_ipad, control4_iphone, control4_android, control4_myhomepc – Remove automatically HC Generic Driver 4store Agent
  21. Is it a T3 Touchscreen, a V2 or something older? T3 definitely works. V2 and older (e.g. Infinity Edge) dont work. AFAIK though any Touchscreen that is specified to work on OS3 will (should) work with the Screensaver Agent.
