  1. Then i did what i wanted to do in HE, and restarted windows. It's worked fine since.
  2. i got that issue the first time. I then started another instance of HE, that one worked with the hung instance just hanging in the background.
  3. Want to know the weird thing? Today, after my 3.0 upgrade, is the first time the Apple Watch app has functioned in a stable manner. No weird jumping around or erratic refreshing. It just works now. I guess i'll leave the 2.0 app on my iPhone so i can keep using it...
  4. Uh, that's not skeuomorphic. There are pictures of light bulbs, but that's because the real world thing it controls is a light bulb. There's not a digital representation of an on/off switch you flick on or off, or a rotary knob to dim, or a thermostat dial to turn. That would be skeuomorphic, the limited screenshot that may be 3.0 is not. Now whether it's good looking or not admits of differences of opinion, i like it but could see how other reasonable people might not.
  5. If that's real, it looks pretty good to me. The current interface is quite dated-looking.
  6. Uh, road maps are typically shared in industries with complicated supply chains so that customers can plan their own purchasing and manufacturing accordingly. that really doesn't exist here. That said, the armchair lawyer opinions being shared here about trade secrets and insider trading can safely be ignored - none are even close. Sincerely, an IP lawyer.
  7. Yes, sorry to say the DS2 camera is crap with bright light behind the subject. I hate it. It sounds like you've figured out a way to use a different camera for Intercom anywhere? I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I can get a different camera to display on the touchscreens in the house, but not in the actual Intercom Anywhere app. Care to share how you did it? thx
  8. Ditto, good advice. this is what we did.
  9. The Yale locks have been the most bulletproof piece of my C4 installation. Never had an issue, everyone "gets" it.
  10. You'll want to have a remote around because there is some one-time programming you do with it (setting upper and lower limits for the blind, for instance). Mine are just sitting in a drawer somewhere in case they're needed again.
  11. Your choice. the multi-shade remote is not needed, but after setup with Vera/C4 you can continue to use the little remotes if you set them up with Vera too (they are just zwave devices). I got the singles, they are useful to have around. I could think of some use cases where you might want the multishade remote.
  12. I got the Vera Plus, it's been very stable. https://www.amazon.com/Vera-Control-VeraPlus-US-Smart-Controller/dp/B01BX9P89Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1537879857&sr=8-3&keywords=vera+plus One hub controls all the blinds. What your C4 dealer will do is set up one instance of the Vera blinds driver in control4 for each blind. Each instance of the driver appears in C4 as a different blind you can control. When you move the slider for a blind in C4, it sends a command to the one Vera controller, which actually controls the blind, and reports back blind status to C4.
  13. Bummer. Home builds are frustrating enough, sorry you're dealing with all that.
  14. In that scenario, there is little/no purpose. One advantage of C4 is centralized control and management. The downsides are that the hardware has to be picked carefully to ensure compatibility, and that means picking from a smaller range of hardware (e.g., not Doorbird, not Schlage but Baldwin, Yale, or Kwikset and only specific models) and that the hardware can be more expensive. It's up to your builder and his C4 guy to make the right decisions. Sounds like they didn't. TL:DR - your builder screwed up/you.
  15. Not offhand, but here's a screenshot. it's the free mi casa verde zwave level controlled blind driver
  16. Yes. It controls the blinds, Control4 controls it.
  17. Ditto on the combination of Balis+Vera hub. That's what I have, ordered them from Costco but sometimes they are cheaper there, sometimes at Lowes, etc. You just need your dealer to install the right C4 driver and you are good to go. And yes, they can be controlled on a percentage basis from C4. See screenshot.
