We haven't received an update from Control4, however, Chamberlain have confirmed their long term support for our integration to them, which Control4 stated was their main concern. Everyone who has installed the driver over the last few weeks has done so without any issues, hence we have removed the disclaimer.

Mine still works, glad I got in when I did. Sorry you spent all that time getting a contract with myq for them to do this. Very not cool.

We have undertaken testing this morning and it appears Control4 have taken the regrettable step of blocking new connections of the driver at some point during the night (note we are UK based). Existing integrations are still working without issues. We assume Control4 will clarify the situation at some point. This is now with our legal counsel and we have no further information we can share at this time.

There are no issues with the driver or our relationship with Chamberlain. If Control4 forcibly block the driver we will issue refunds to those that have purchased it as a good will gesture and seek legal means to recover our losses.
This is completely beyond our control, and beyond the control of Control4 dealers alike. This concerns us, and should concern all users, dealers and third party developers. As mentioned above, there are significant legal implications should Snap block a driver (the way the driver works would mean they'd have to push software on every users controller without their consent = not legal and support call headache for dealers). Which other brand/manufactuer will they choose to forcibly block next? It is a very slippery slope, will competing audio brands be next? Other brands that have publicly changed their API or have hardware that is flakey? Perhaps they are only singling out Chamberlain for now, but given Control4 in April 2021 stated "Good luck working with Chamberlain... I hope it works out for you" it seems unlikely Chamberlain will be the last victim.

Clare Controls is a slightly different situation. It has a closed SDK as opposed to the open nature of Control4 and other platforms. This meant it was unable to be included in our agreement with Chamberlain. Chamberlain have given us authorisation to provide a solution for Clare Controls, but it requires consent from SnapOne. Chamberlain are committed to work with us on a long term basis to bring connected solutions to the smart home automation space. We have a deal in place to support the major platforms (Control4, Nice, Crestron & Crestron Home, RTI and URC) while we look for expansion opportunities with other platforms. We weren't involved in any discussion between Chamberlain and SnapOne so can't comment on the contract between them or the length of terms they had together for the Clare Controls integration.

The driver works great. Nice graphics to show opened/closed/in motion. Finally, can remove my 3 Z2io and tilt sensors that worked sometimes..
If anyone wants this installed send me a message.

Understood.  We've spent nearly three years work on this partnership with Chamberlain to ensure long term support through an API changes, as customer confidence is important (our CEO used to be a dealer and understands first hand the frustrations dealers face!).  To that end, he has also agreed that if you do purchase this for a client and they aren't happy with the solution, we'd offer a three day window to provide a full refund, which should make it easier to sell/effectively give a way of trialing.

Completely understand, as you hadn't made a purchase, the driver was picking up our standard two-week trial message which isn't applicable for the myQ driver.  This has now been changed to avoid any confusion.  That message on your system will update shortly automatically.  You can get a fully functional copy of the driver, with no expiry by requesting a showroom licence here:

That message in the "Driver Status" field was confusing - we've already updated our licence server to make things clearer.

Trial licences - due to the myQ cloud licensing fee, our standard two week trial is not available for this driver.  If you purchase this for a client and they are unhappy, we do offer a full refund within the first three days.
Showroom Licences - these are provided free of charge and have no expiry - you have to apply separately for a showroom myQ licence, as we're not able to include it in our normal showroom driver pack.

On that... I've literally just had confirmation from Chamberlain that they intend to list Control4 (and any subsequent platforms) on their "Works with" page once the drivers are released.

Same. Have a few folks who are already interested to see how this pans out that used to use the old driver before MyQ shut it down.

Thanks, we hope it will be a really useful integration for Control4 users. I can't really speak on behalf of Chamberlain but we reached out a couple of years ago and are thrilled it all paid off in the end!

@IntrinsicGroup This is wonderful news and very good to hear.  I started out with the old MyQ driver and had to implement relays and contact sensors once that solution stopped working.  I know folks are worried about the company and potential longevity of the solution - and I think it's very positive that this is a revenue producing solution for Chamberlain and developed with their cooperation.  I'm very curious to hear your take on why you think Chamberlain now wants to do this?  Did they reach out to you, or did you propose to them?
However it occurred, great job and good luck with the driver!
