    Feb 2, 11:58 EST
Investigating - We have identified an issue with OvrC that is causing intermittent issues with performance, preventing some users from logging in and/or using OvrC features. We are aware and actively investigating solutions and impact. More details to follow. Thanks, Your Snap One Engineering team

If you have wired sensors you may want to consider the IQ Pro. This flyer has a good comparison of the Qolsys/DSC systems.

    I believe 2GIG is 345MHz

Very reliable. And I upgraded from 2GIG and used all my original sensors. Just make sure to order the correct frequency version that is compatible with 2GIG sensors.

I had looked at that briefly and it seems to be a pretty nice product and also appears to support 2gig sensors as well. how is it for reliability / stability?

Look at the Qolsys IQ panel.

Just make sure your channels are not overlapping and also not overlapping with gear from your neighbors. There are also non-wifi 2.4ghz sources like baby monitors, wireless audio products like sonos and the sony HTIB wireless etc... I spent a bunch of time chasing performance issues with my setup until I discovered that both my neighbors had strong transmitters sitting on the same channel which overlapped one of my APs... signal strength was great, signal to noise was terrible.....

EA1 won't change anything for what you are looking to do. The primary controller that is running director would still do all the work.

You know, I have no idea - I've never checked.  I don't think so?  I have my whole rack ripped up right now, but when I get back home and finish putting it together, I'll check?  Will be after the weekend.

I'd probably just use a Chromecast Audio  if you can find one.  It's $20 vs. the $350 or whatever the Lynk is now.  The Lynk has marginal advantage if you are putting it through a matrix with volume control.  The addition of Airplay is nice, I guess, but Chromecast seems fine for that, and the ability to play Spotify Connect already exists in the EA controllers.   I don't think you'll get any real benefit with your setup, it sounds like.

Actually, the Lynx mostly works, but not perfectly.
For Chromecast - yes, the audio chomecast does play audio, and seems to do that correctly.  However, there is a bug - C4 does not recognize the Lynk correctly as a session. Here's the example:

Let's say you have the Lynk playing in your Kitchen.  And You have a button in your Living Room programmed like this:
If the room Kitchen is in a session
Add rooms Living to Kitchen session

You would expect that music would start playing in the Living Room.  That's how it works with all other audio devices.  This does NOT work on the Lynk.  The Lynk is simply not recognized as a session and will not start playing.  You can manually add the room and it will work.   However, it's a pretty big bug.

For me, it's a big deal, and it's why I continue to use just a standard Chromecast Audio from Google.    It works correctly.

Also, if you have distributed audio outside of your matrix amp, that obviously won't play.  I do have a Lynk plugged into a MOIP audio transmitter to fix that problem, however.  That's obviously not a problem with the Lynk itself.  However, one does wonder why they didn't integrate all this with RYFF, instead?

I think the issue could be over marketing by C4 and the fact it starting to look like another Neeo
it’s like they have released a production vision with beta software and asking there customers to test it for them.

fingers crossed it will all come right in the end

Then they should market the device as needing to be constantly charged. Changing everyone’s habits including children to always recharge the remote is not worth the trade off of having Siri voice control.
aside from Siri voice control there is not much benefit - all the buttons have been moved around and the battery life is so poor , had I known this as an end user there is zero chance I would have purchased 3 of these paperweights.
This remote is a big disappointment

pdapice got a reaction from ranaz in EA5 Audio Drop outs - need help!
this category also seemed to apply so i crossposted:
for the past week or 2, all of my streaming audio services, in all of my zones experience random drop outs.
    pandora, i♥radio, etc.
the exception is, if i play spotify from my desktop and stream it to any of the zones, it plays fine. this would lead me to believe that it is not a network related issue as any network dropouts would present in the stream between my desktop and the controller.
i have the EA5 connected via ethernet, and my internet is gigabit fiber with no other issues or dropouts noted on any other device or service. just streaming that originates from the EA5
i have run a continuous ping to the internet from my desktop to the internet, and also from the desktop to the EA5 to see if there are any lost packets. there aren't
looking at the IFconfig of the EA5 it shows 0 errors and no lost packets, so i am pretty sure it isn't a network issue.
also the song doesn't continue playing. when the drop out is over it continues from the last spot. almost like it was paused or buffering. again though, it seems unlikely considering the high availability of my network AND internet environment.
any ideas? anyone else having this issue?

Basic proxy varaibles is why - they show up because of that, but if tracking of powerstate isn't implemented for whatever reason (and there may well be a good one, such as in receivers to allow discrete control over multiple zones - without having to have the main zones on), it breaks the function

i have been using the VSSL amps with this functionality built in , but it would be a lot better if control4 would implement it on their amps or matrix switches as there are a few minor glitches with VSSL/C4 functionality. I agree that this is a major oversight on C4s part
