  1. Thanks very much fellow C4 brethren for the info on the updated driver. Beeping is maddening. Q: I unplugged the serial cable from the Concord 4 automation module that goes to the C4 controller to get it to maybe stop beeping, but resulted in the Concord 4 panel now beeping about BUS FAILURE UNIT AM4. Is this "normal" - why would the Concord 4 panel even know whether or not the serial cable was plugged into Control4 or do I have some other new issue that I have created by unplugging? ALSO: To try to quiet the beeping, on the Concord 4 panel, I went into SYSTEM PROGRAMMING (using dealer code) >> >> SIREN OPTIONS >> GLOBAL >> IMMEDIATE BEEPS (OFF) and >> SIREN OPTIONS >> GLOBAL >> DISABLE TR BEEPS (ON) Not entirely sure what either option does to be honest, but net effect was that the beeping still continued any time the BUS FAILURE UNIT AM4 came up. There has to be a way to get these things to stop beeping even when there is an error message. The next solution may be opening up the Concord 4 panel and removing the piezo speaker 1st world problems during a pandemic, I know, but quietly pulling my hair out... I will add that this is another good reason Control4 should allow Composer HE users to AT MINIMUM update an already existing driver. This is nuts to have to suffer through days of your alarm panel incessantly beeping and require dealer intervention.
  2. We have the updated driver, and yes, I can go in and set the Concord 4 panel time and date manually but it has zero effect...
  3. Beeping is back for me. Seems Control4 is trying to reset time (unsuccessfully) on the Concord 4 panel. This is maddening. Help stop the beeping. Please...
  4. Yes - I also realized that is what is happening - the time on the Concord 4 is off from the time on Control4. Seems that the beeping is Control4 attempting to reset the time on the Concord 4 panel - but it is not happening successfully. When I look at the Concord 4 keypad it seems like it is getting stopped short and asking for USER CODE, then just times out and tries again with all of the beeping later. This is driving the entire family mad. Any ideas beyond what I've already tried: rebooted Control4, rebooted Concord 4, manually set time on Concord 4 to match Control4 HELP!!!!
  5. I went into the Driver and clicked the button for "RESET PANEL COMMUNICATION" and was able to recreate the midnight beeping. 4 beeps, followed by 2 beeps. Concord 4 panel reads "SYSTEM MENU" Clock on Concord 4 panel also seems to be randomly behind by both hrs and mins. Help...
  6. Looks like when the beeping is happening I am getting History of: USER PROGRAM ENTRY (at midnight) USER PROGRAM EXIT (just a few seconds later) I don't have any known (or purposeful) programming to set this off in Control4. The only alarm related programming is a Custom Button that triggers a lighting scene, locks a door, and arms the alarm which has been working without fail. Any ideas? Thanks!
  7. Control4 OS3 with Concord 4 alarm panel integrated via RS-232 automation module. I know some of us had the alarm panel beeping issue several months ago due to the driver requiring an update. I updated and all was fine until now. Now at exactly midnight every night the alarm panel beeps 4 times. Sometimes it does the 4 beeps again within minutes. I try to catch what the alarm panel says and I think says something about SYSTEM MENU. The only change I have made is that my user password was updated on customer.control4.com. The driver was setup and has our 4 digit PIN for the Concord 4 alarm panel in it. All functions through Control4 are working A-OK (arm, disarm, chime on, chime off, etc). Any ideas before we go insane??? Thanks!
  8. https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/2972898/Tech Pubs/Product Information /Door Locks and Garage Doors/Release Notes/Liftmaster Chamberlain MyQ Integration Release Notes (DOC ID 1615).pdf Seems straightforward with Clare Controls. Why Control4 is lagging behind on this is unbelievable. Yes, it is $10 per year to MyQ. I would pay it and I think the vast majority of Control4 owners would have no problem with that.
  9. Can you make the outlets show up as buttons on the Navigator? What does that end up looking like (screen shot)? What is the best practice for where you put the outlets - almost seems like you'd want to make a separate room, or use the "Rack Room" to put all of that stuff in that you don't often touch....
  10. Sorry to be a noob, but what does the WattBox driver do? I have one of these IP controlled WattBox units but I was only aware that it would work through OvrC (which is dreadful) to reboot an outlet. OvrC is especially dreadful because if (*when) you lose internet you can no longer reboot any component through OvrC - ill thought at best... What am I missing with the Control4 driver? Where does the WattBox show up and what can you control?
  11. Encourage everyone here that wants MyQ integration to contact MyQ and make your feelings known: https://support.chamberlaingroup.com/s/email-us (choose Product Type as "MyQ" and Issue as "Does Not Work As Expected") I submitted a request, got an email back from a human saying that it was being passed to their Development team. Sure, we could be pessimistic and say that nothing will come of it, or if enough of us engage, perhaps there will be a change. If they can have Apple Homekit, Alarm.com, and Clare Controls integration (remember, Clare has strategic alliance with SnapAV who owns Control4), there is zero reason it cannot work with Control4. Maybe also a few strategic calls to SnapAV would help...
  12. I am also having this issue. When I put the Default User Code in the panel beeps continuously. OS3.1 for Control4 Interlogix Driver Version 111
  13. OK, I found the driver property and was able to enter the 4 digit code and it now arms. HOWEVER BIG PROBLEM: When I disarm the alarm (from the actual Concord4 Panel) the unit keeps beeping over and over again even after disarmed. I don't see any indication of a function going on the panel or in the Security function on a Control4 Navigator. Any ideas what is going on? The beeping is gonna drive us crazy.
  14. I am attempting to create Macro that will 1) turn off lights, 2) lock the door, and 3) arm the alarm. Executing the Macro via a Custom Button on a Navigator (iPad, iPhone, etc.). I've gotten #1 and #2 to work. #3 Arming the Alarm is giving me a hassle. Seems like the panel receives the command and I see the actual Concord4 alarm panel (the crappy one with the LCD display and numeric keypad) show the alarm STAY command for a second, but it never actually arms. Using the Security interface in a Control4 Navigator, I usually have to enter my 4-digit PIN to arm the Alarm (same on one of the Concord4 panels). There is no where in the Macro Agent for the Alarm settings that I can find a place to enter a PIN which I think may be the problem. Concord4 alarm panel with interface to Control4. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  15. I've researched extensively. There are a couple of companies (mostly from Europe) that have an August lookalike lock that will work with some mortise style locks, but nothing I could find for multi-point (which is sort of a hybrid of mortise). I've had multi-point locks in the past and cannot imagine any electric smart lock (consumer grade) that would even have the torque to turn one, those can barely turn a single cylinder deadbolt when it is perfectly lubricated and aligned.
  16. Yes - I got this working. The native Control4 driver for August locks works - not only for the Yale brand (Yale Powered by August), but also for Emtek brand (Emtek Powered by August). You get the standard Control4 lock icon under OS 3.x and everything works just as expected. You have full functionality of assigning PIN codes within Control4 without having to go to the August App. Using the August App does give you some more controls and options, but everything you really need is available under the Control4 interface. It works really, really well and I am very happy with the integration. I'm surprised that more integrators don't do the August module because it works over WiFi (*yes you have to plug in the included August WiFi bridge - which was zero issue and I've never touched it since) and you avoid all of the associated issues with Zigbee locks. https://emtek.com/electronic-locks/empowered-keypad-smart-lock-deadbolt-connected-by-august FYI: Emtek owns Yale now. The August lock module is identical, just the style and finish of the door handle itself is different. We wanted polished chrome which was not offered under the Yale brand, but was under Emtek. Also, the Emtek lock is just overall more robust. The entire thumb turn lock device (on the inside of the door) is ALL metal - not a stitch of plastic to be found - much more solid than anything else out there.
  17. Guessing that has to be done in Composer Pro, versus any ability to do it in Composer HE?
  18. Perhaps it isn't possible, or I just forgot how: Can you favorite an item that exists in one room to another room? Example: I have a door lock (August) assigned to the Garage. I want to be able to see it from the Living Room screen. Is that possible, or do I always have to go to the Garage Room?
  19. Boy, I was really not trying to start any type of argument. Just providing an alternative view. And yes, for the most part. We attempted to be "smart" about what we hid in the closets such that they were not the main loads for the room, but things like outdoor lights or aux lighting throughout the house. Again, it works for us, and the main point really wasn't that which you are commenting on above.
  20. I can only share my personal experience. My dealer was 100% supportive of hiding switches in the wiring closet, and that is what we did. I have 16 Adaptive Phase Dimmer switches in the wiring closet. We did the same upstairs in another closet. This eliminated having 3, 4, or 6 switches ("piano keyboards") in a room. My goal was a single dimmer or keypad, or at most 2 in logical locations in each room. The result is that each room looks clean as it pertains to light switches. Where needed we have installed Keypads/Dimmer Keypads with 6-buttons to control various house functions or lighting (still trying to work out what works best before ordering the engraved buttons). Overall, I am happy with the results. Yes, panelized lighting (which I explored in depth) could have made for an even cleaner layout, but I feel that I have a great deal of flexibility with the current setup. Based on my personal experience, doing panelized would have also resulted in greater cost in both wiring (because most electricians don't get it - even getting them to hide the switches in the closets was an effort) and the overall cost of the equipment. Also keep in mind that with a setup as I am describing you can "grow" your system and add C4 dimmers, switches, and keypads as you go at your own pace instead of having to go all-in at once expense-wise. Granted there are those here on the forum living in 20,000 sq/ft second vacation homes (invite me over please), but to a large subset of users, this can matter. Also, though I do no plan to ever sell the house, if I ever have to, the new owner could go back to "un-smart" lighting easily. Performance-wise I have had absolutely zero problems. I've literally never had to reset a lighting load or had any type of "Zigbee storm" as reported by others. We planned on doing it this way and it works to the way we designed it. Your mileage and experience may vary.
  21. Not just the difference in the case. The case is absolutely superior on the Luxe being aluminum. The other big difference is in the wall dock/connector itself. The Luxe is again machined aluminum and square and looks good when the iPad is not docked. The LaunchPort, while overall is still square-ish, has a round connector and is plastic. Also somewhat larger on the wall than the Luxe. If you are spending that much on a dock, go ahead and splurge for the Luxe.
  22. Is there a fix or update to stop the madness? I had not heard about it being related to time-change. Would think that in 2020 Control4 would have that worked out...just sayin'
  23. I believe they may. Is there any way in Composer HE to check out what is going on, or do I have to depend on a dealer to diagnose?
  24. Having this exact same issue. Have not updated anything. No new drivers or programming. No new equipment. No changes. EA5 in rack has needed to be rebooted now 3 times in one day. Remotes and all Navigators lose connectivity. System has previously been rock solid with no reboots needed at all. System has been in place for about 24 months OS 3.1.0.566785 Also Q: Any ill effects of rebooting the EA5 over and over again (just had to reboot again)? The EA5 is solid state (no moving hard drive) - correct? Help please.
  25. Any ideas on why for example the fans would have worked no issues whatsoever for over 1 yr and then suddenly started hating the WiFi network? During that time the firmware on the WAPs was unchanged. I blame a firmware update from Big Ass Fans that was specific to the WiFi module, however there is no way to go backwards with their firmware, and they are saying that they tested with Araknis 700 series WAPs at their lab and could not replicate any issues. Also does not explain the other issues we've ad on the network. Tekki70 - thanks for the idea on security/wpa
