  1. Something certainly seems wrong. I am having zero issues with my NEEO. I only got one so far to try it out and love it and have had ZERO issues whatsoever. I am wondering if you have worked with your dealer to enable logging and see what is going on with the logs from the NEEO? I hate to suggest this but I also wonder if there are issues going on with the wifi setup. There is a huge difference when you have a wifi network properly working. From what you posted it looks like you have an access point that uses 2x2 and I would honestly be looking at access point issues. At minimum today I would want 4x4:4 Wave 2. When I had APs that were 2x2 in my house I had nothing but issues and upgraded the 3 indoor APs to 4x4:4 Wave 2 a couple years ago and it was the best thing I ever did and prior to that I had constant wifi issues. It's something to think about and may be completely unrelated but your issues are certainly odd. For reference my NEEO is running on the 5Ghz band (I have both bands running on the same SSID), with a link speed of 200 Mb/s and an RSSI of -49. I do have a large wifi network with 4 APs and anywhere from 20 to 40 wireless devices online at any given time.
  2. It all depends on your overall setup and outdoor area size. I ended up adding two rock subs in my pool area. I have a separate amp for the primary pool area speakers (4 Klipsch Rock Speakers) and a separate amp for the subs (2 Klipsch Rock Subs). The sub amp is slaved off the audio matrix and tied to the primary pool speakers channel on the audio matrix. Overall I have 10 speakers (3 zones) and 2 subs in my pool area. I guess if you have a spare channel on your existing amp you could add the sub to that but it all depends on your budget and what kind of sound you are looking for.
  3. Me too...got mine integrated this week. I needed to add the voice coordinator and then all was good. I'm impressed.
  4. NM...tested the power supply and found that the power supply had died.
  5. Not sure if anyone has seen this problem. I already reached out to my local C4 dealer but I'm not sure if there is anything else I could try. I woke up this morning to no network. After checking the equipment rack I saw that the AN-300 router's lights were flashing on an off. It was the power light and occasionally all the lights. So, I first tried power cycling everything, then unplugging the power supply for a bit and plugging it back in and then a soft reset (10-second) and the until still does the same thing. I'm guessing it is either the power supply or the unit itself has died. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks!
  6. AVPro Edge has been rock solid for me. I just upgraded to the Axion-X line from an 8x8 4k matrix. I love their equipment.
  7. Our houses are probably very similar…similar size, lots of brick, stone, marble, etc on interior and exterior walls. I upgraded to AR 810 APS from 500’s or 510’s (can’t remember which) and have had no issues ever since. I was having constant issues prior. I also have an outdoor AR 700 AP since signal was bad to the outside because of so much brick and thick walls. Anyhow, the biggest thing you want to look at is the antenna technology in the AP regardless of which route you go. Also, AP placement is important for proper coverage - I assume they’re all ceiling mounted and placed properly because this make a HUGE difference in proper coverage as well.
  8. LOL…I was just thinking that one thing you could do is pickup a used AVPro matrix. However, it all depends on your “environment” as to what would work best. I took out an 8x8 AVPro Matrix because it didn’t do that well in a mixed environment and I wanted to add more TVs. If you’re all 4k then you have some good options.
  9. I just switched to an AC-AXION-X and it is awesome. Obviously I have a larger install but it simplified my rack a bit. No more baluns in the rack and no more audio extractors since it all happens inside the AC-AXION-X.
  10. Kinda all the options you listed but I don't use wireless speakers...mostly C4 stuff with a C4 matrix and amps but also have non-C4 amps in the mix. I have two non-C4 amps for part of the pool to drive two subs and six of the nine speakers. But then again I have 24 audio zones switched by a Triad 24 Matrix and powered by 3 Triad Amps, a JL Audio Amp (Pool Subs) and a Sonnance Amp (4 Main Pool Speakers) and a theatre amp. I am mostly leveraging Apple TVs for streaming, TuneIn, SiruxXM, Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc C4 apps for streaming as well. Honestly we mostly use AirPlay for playing music. Klipsch and Triad speakers / subs throughout. Again, everything is hard-wired...I am adamant about hard-wiring everything so it's absolutely trouble free and "zero" latency although some of my longer speaker wire runs (200'+) forced the need to "sync" all the zones so to speak. It's very common during the summer for us to have three different music streams going on throughout the system at the same time: Kids at the pool, wife in the house and me in the house or garage, etc.
  11. Honestly I believe the C4 should open Composer Pro up to techie home owners for a fee to those who wish to do some things on their own but only through a dealer. There are many software developers out there that want to tinker with their own systems and still work with a dealer. Most people like me end up going down the road of DIY but I appreciate the C4 eco-system and good dealer support (I don’t want to deal with everything on my own) and I would never have the time to do a system as large as mine on my own. I would imagine there are quite a few people like me and it would open up C4 more and cause wider adoption. Composer Pro could always be locked down to a specific system but, honestly, even now, there are always people smart enough to get around whatever blocks get put in place to lock things down. But, at the end of the day, as we all know, C4 is only as good as the “local” dealer / installer.
  12. I’m not a AV Pro but a techie that has been into home automation for over 20 years and AVProEdge has been absolutely rock solid. I have 6 sources and 10 end points with 2 end points doubled up (8x8 matrix). My current matrix is older and the new AVProEdge AXION line is amazing and I’ll be upgrading to it this coming year with some additional video upgrades I am working on.
  13. I’m using Ethernet, as others have stated that’s the only way to go. I have full control over everything. Valves, pumps, pool light, temp, and chlorinator. It works flawlessly. I’ll also add that the pentair IntelliCenter portal was down about a week ago for 24 hours and I could still control my pool through the C4 app while away from home.
  14. I just did the pentair IntelliCenter system and it integrated flawlessly with C4. I wired into the network. It is my understanding that there is a Wi-Fi interface available but I didn’t want to use Wi-Fi.
  15. I’m not sure. Pentair support is very knowledgeable. I went through my Pool Company and they called their Pentair rep to know for certain what was needed. It was very smooth. I would check through your dealer or reach out to Pentair directly.
  16. I just added the IntelliCenter to my pool. Had no pool automation prior and it was a pain when the kids or wife wanted to use the slide, fountain, etc. I ended up doing the install and I am impressed. I specified that I wanted to hard wire the network instead of using Wi-Fi. What is nice is that the kids already have the C4 app on their phones so the integration of the IntelliCenter directly within C4 makes things simple. I also recommend adding the IntelliCenter indoor touch screen remote panel if you have a cabana or pool house. That way the kids can just touch a feature they want and it comes on/off.
  17. My C4 installation is rock solid. 22 audio zones, 11 4k video zones, wifi mesh network, over 130 zigbee devices on 2 networks, etc, etc. The equipment itself is VERY solid. It is all about the installer. Like others have said, if you are having issues you need to be specific and you may find help here...if you actually want help.
  18. And, if you happen to be there when the pros are doing their work, it is amazing to see the "storm" that is going on when they are working but when they are done and gone it is also just as amazing that there is no mess, everything is completed, and it all works as it should. That is the best part about it!
  19. I hear what you're saying. And, in some ways I do agree. However, I'm not sure...a team of 6 guys wired up my entire house and mounted everything (except build and program the cabinet and install all the light switches) in only three days. All the wires were pulled, speakers were installed, door stations were installed (3) and wall panels were installed. I guess it all comes down to what you want to spend your time doing.
  20. Working with a good installer is the only way to go if you have the budget. Wiring - A good installer has the right tools and the experience to get wires into places that will amaze you with minimal to no damage. I did an existing home with 3 levels and about 7000ft with 21 audio zones, multiple wired touchscreens, IP cameras, over 200 network devices, wireless access points (4), etc. that needed either wired in or considered as to where they should be placed (light switches and C4 controllers). My installer only ended up having to cut 1 hole in a ceiling of the entire house and they were able to provide a "chase" for me to get wires from the lower level all the way up to my attic and left me a pull wire to pull additional wires if needed. They were even able to get speaker wires out to two porches somehow using a 20' long drill bit with no damage to the ceilings. Networking Access Points - Unless you have experience doing them it's worth hiring someone that is experienced. 6 access points doesn't seem right. You will probably have to turn down the power on those quite a bit. I highly recommend 4x4 MIMO access points with today's devices. Again, I have 4 wireless access points and one is an outdoor device for the backyard pool deck so I really only have 3 in the house and my wireless network is rock solid. That's my 2-cents
  21. AVPro Edge products are rock solid. Be sure and purchase the latest versions of their products especially if you're operating in a mixed environment.
  22. I use remotes to control my lights constantly. The number keypad is the best way to dim them. You can also select scenes as well from the remotes.
  23. The HVAC units are Daikin units. The contractor I am using prefers these because they can use commercial grade zone controls that are not specific to the HVAC units (Like Carrier and Rheem). It gives them more flexibility on zoning and, according to them, the only units they know of right now that can do this (at least from my understanding).
  24. So what I have found is that some furnaces do control the continually variable speed from the furnace board itself. What I am leaning towards is a zoning system that is driven with ecobee thermostats in each zone.
  25. I’ve found the exact same thing. What would be smart is for Control4 to be able to integrate with the manufacturer thermostats for simple temp and schedule. I want to keep the variable speed especially due to the zoning.
