    Josh and Roku?

All of the Josh AV routing is pulled in from C4. In your C4 project, make sure the Roku is in the room you are wanting to send Josh commands to and it’s working in your C4 project. Passthru should be set to on in the C4 driver and be sure to leave “Roku”unhidden in the C4 navigators. That’s annoying, but necessary for deeplinking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Has the proximity sensor been confirmed? I’m getting conflicting answers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This is precisely why I find the synergy of the two platforms fantastic. Anything that works with Control can work in Josh, regardless of Josh direct support. Here’s where it gets tricky… I can control every device on my Control4 system via Josh voice and the Josh App (barely ever open it… I’m here for the voice), so I assume the new touchscreens launching will do the same. Seems like a serious conflict. And potentially a reason why Snap is moving more toward recurring revenue. Less dependency on hardware sales? It’s going to be interesting.
  4. Ethernet is no issue. Wifi can be a bit finicky bringing a micro online. It’s not a reason to shy from it, just that some Micros take more than one attempt to get online. Mostly solid thereafter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Without question, the network chipset in the Micros is finicky (versus flakey). I tell my clients to turn off the "wake Beep" on each Micro as it seems to work 100x better in catching the commands. Once that's done, I never have issue with Josh understanding a command, nor have I gotten negative feedback regarding not understanding (with the "wake beep" set to off in each micro). It's not listening for that split second and sometimes causes issues with the command.
  6. I am a Josh dealer and I am a huge advocate for Josh.ai integration with Control4. It's wildly powerful and until you live with it, you can't imagine what it brings to your home. I do agree 1,000,000% the touchscreen mic situation is a HUGE miss. I can't tell you the business it would have generated, let alone the fact that I would be installing them in my own home the day they start shipping. Shelly integration is great (but for us with Control4, we already have it) UI changes are very nice, but it was never really bad. The recurring revenue model isn't a huge burden at $60/mo up to 500 devices controlled. I would pay more for as much as we use it. The hardware is a barrier to entry for some, but once you sink that cost, you sort of forget about it lol!
  7. Block them out of spite? What good would it do? The only path to blocking them would be if Control4 has a voice product up their sleeve. I must admit that during litigation, releasing touchsceens and more remotes seems a big effU.
  8. Great dealer and person. Don’t hesitate to reach out to her. Fellow dealer that has been awesome to work with over the years. Very honest and very fair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I am and would be happy to help. Message me. I’m not around much this weekend, but Monday for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So a current Control4 TStat can run solely on a battery and basically act as a wet contact to open and close the 2-wire circuit per temp measurements? If so, I’d likely power them from a 24v supply in the boiler room with battery as backup. My issue was that I didn’t realize the current C4-TStat would work with two wires (relay/wet contact). That’s where I got stuck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I hope this isn’t more confusing. I was more inclined this direction, but I’m confused. Are you then running several separate smart C4-TStats in the boiler room? I was considering having 1 for the sensor connections and a main zone and then an IOX or 2 to open and close the individual room contacts per the individual C4-sensor readings. I assume there are variable exposed on the tstat driver for each sensor? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Have a client with a boiler system with baseboard units in each room with a 2 wire tstat opening and closing the valves back at the head end. I'm sort of at a loss for the best solution to integrate the heat in this home. I know the previous gen C4-TStats could run on battery power and would work with two wires (like a basic relay). But I am not sure how the latest gen would work here. In this scenario we'd need several relays, so I don't think a Control4 tstat solution would work. Any help would be appreciated. This is not crazy uncommon in the NE US homes.
  13. The biggest issue is the confusion surrounding the entire preview of the new program from the dealer network to the end user. I think once things are made clearer it’ll turn out to be the right thing for everyone involved from Snap>C4>Dealer>End User. There are real benefits to the variety of different types of users. And theses are different based on the client system type and needs. One thing I like about this program is that Control4 acknowledges there are luxury systems AND single room solutions and everything in between. Some other platforms are priced simply luxury. In my experience, our clients are 50% luxury, 15% single room solutions and 35% in between. I think the new program benefits all of those clients based on the uniqueness of the system type and scale. It also will encourage the dealer to put forth best efforts, because there’s no place to hide poor setup/programming once Connect is in effect. As far as the dealer incentive, we all understand that nothing will replace a truck roll to do initial structured wiring, trim out, setup and programming. There are times when a truck roll is the only solution to solve a problem. This program will allow us dealers to focus on providing the best we can be in those areas and lays off a lot of simple issues to Connect Support. I think the compensation to the dealers remains unaffected, if not a tad better in terms of incentivizing use to make sure our client is happy. Change is scary, yet inevitable in any business. It’s typically well thought and when we look back it turns out it was a good thing. I’m sure this will play out to be just that. So hey fellow dealers… I guess the clients we used to get a kick out of for calling it Connect4 were right all along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for asking. You know, I don’t really know. It was an upgrade to a $60k laser. I know the owner we sold it to from our showroom demo said it was bright and perfect. We didn’t have the theater on except during demos and only for a year or so. Bulbs are cheap(ish) under $300 if you need to replace in a few years. I’ll drop the price by $150 to offset the cost of a new bulb of you need later. And I will guarantee it works great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That is really nice! If the bulbs are 120v and dimmable, you can always just use a Control4 Outlet Dimmer. I have several in hand if you determine the fixture can be dimmed safely and have interest. Message me if you would like one. I have both new and used an all are the current model.
  16. I didn’t get a chance to replicate yet. Maybe someone who also runs a video matrix can chime in. I can’t remember the specific issue. But I assure you it was a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. (Mini apps aside) - In your standard distribution setup in C4, do you typically lock players to rooms? There is definitely a quirk I have seen in more than one system whereby a single mini app per service didn’t work. I will try to replicate the situation and let you know what/why this isn’t always possible (single app/service). Like I said, I am distributing via a matrix in my own setup and recall I couldn’t use a single miniapp per service. Would love that, trust me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I believe there is an exception when using video distribution. Someone can confirm, but I recall a reason they’d be required on a per room basis when using distribution. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New TV

OP, have you had any luck having Mitch or another dealer help out? If so, great. If not, why don’t you post the model of the display. This way we can look at a native driver specific to your model etc. There are lots of great guys here that can help, just thought letting us know the model could streamline the effort. Best of luck! Thanks for the purchases guys. I do have enough inventory left to do another complete system (and can add whatever else is needed). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
