My wifi response time is 1 to 2 seconds from the time I tap the lock until it locks and reports back. That said, I have an extensive and robust wifi mesh network that is rock solid and very responsive. I’ve also had no failed events yet.
I’ll be able to test the zigbee network vs wifi once my zigbee card comes in sometime this month. I have ~200 zigbee devices with 3 controllers participating in the zigbee network at my house so mine would be a good test.

Dueport reacted to Cyknight in Question regarding physical location of ZAP
Less 'hops' is better, so a place where it can reach the most amount of devices without having to do so (and thus the less hops there are as those devices hop to the next one and so on) the better ingeneral terms. That said ZigBee IS designed to do these hops to create the mesh network, so it's not as if you need to put a lot of effort into finding that 'sweetspot' in a large device count mesh. Assuming devices are fairly evenly distributed, a more or less central location is usually best, at least or especially for a single zap setup.
140 devices is close to max advised for 140 devices, but unless you can 'steal' a good porting of them by having a zap central to a large cluster that is now a lot of 'hops' away, it's not likely to be a huge increase.

As is so often the case, the specifics of your setup will determine what is the best approach.
With what you've stated on the layout, I would have one more or less central to the house in the basement, and one on the second floor on the west end.
Basement and east side of house on basement ZAP, rest on second floor ZAP. Of course wring, and other functions of controllers, may shift some of that, as can 'block' like pools, kitchens and bathrooms...

One thing to to be aware of when moving ZAPS in a multi ZAP setup is which devices are connected where.

Oh and I'll assume you mean full server/zap coordinator combos, and you're not using multiple ZAPS on a single server.

Timing could not be better.  I was just searching for Reolink Control4 integration this morning.  End user here who is installing a Reolink system (CX410s with an NVR).  If I’m willing to pay for this driver it should be pretty easy for my C4 Pro to integrate?

Greenfield Solutions is thrilled to introduce our brand-new MEGA Camera Driver! We're taking a fresh approach to camera management in Control4 projects, putting the power in the hands of end users to dynamically add Camera drivers via the Camera Agent. This innovative approach simplifies licensing and consolidates all camera drivers into a single license, offering maximum flexibility across different brands.
Exciting news for existing users: all license keys from Blackwire Designs will seamlessly activate the Mega Camera Driver, regardless of the original camera driver you purchased. Please note that Houselogix drivers are not compatible with this new product and will require a repurchase. However, if you previously purchased our drivers from Houxse, we're offering a generous 50% discount. Just reach out to mitch@greenfieldsolutions.site with your original Houselogix driver purchase details.
One of the most significant advancements in this driver is the dynamic delivery of supported cameras and driver updates via the cloud. This means Greenfield Solutions can effortlessly add additional cameras requested by customers, eliminating the need for constant agent updates.
Getting started is a breeze! Simply download the driver from Driver Central https://drivercentral.io/platforms/control4-drivers/security-systems/greenfield-solutions-mega-camera-driver/  head to the Agents Tab, click 'Add,' and select the Mega Camera Driver. Get ready to revolutionize your camera management experience with Greenfield Solutions!

At launch, our driver extends support to the following brands, with the rest of the Greenfield Solutions portfolio set to migrate shortly:

    •    Dahua PTZ (all variants) Camera
    •    Avigilon

So I installed the wifi module in the lock and also got the August driver and bridge setup in C4 and it works great. I'll be curious to see how the Zigbee module works, and if it is actually supported yet or not, once I receive it.
Using the WiFi module the lock responds within two seconds and reports back in the mobile C4 app within less than a second that the lock state has changed. So, overall, from the time I press lock/unlock in the mobile C4 app the lock is locked and the status within the app changes in two to three seconds which is not bad.
I will post back if I experience any issues.
I will also add that it is nice being able to just use the iPhone and Apple Home Keys to control the lock itself.

My lock came in today but I’m waiting on the control4 module to come in. The look works great with home kit. I’m wondering if the C4 driver works over Wi-Fi…I may get the Wi-Fi card for now.

More likely that the lock would have firmware upgraded. They do upgrade the firmware of the lock through the Yale app from time to time which is a benefit of the Yale app over older locks that could never have their firmware upgraded. The firmware of the C4 card can also be upgraded through Composer so that's always a possibility too though.

We're in the US and I do plan on purchasing one in the next few months and will update then if someone hasn't tried it sooner than that. Sounds like it could go either way....

Short answer is the rest of the assure two line is, but it's unclear if this new fingerprint model will support the zigbee card. It's already been said it does not support the Z-Wave card, so it is unlikely that it will support the zigby card at launch

That's an interesting question - I didn't know about the Yale wifi bridge product. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that. Bluetooth is built into every lock and normally to add wifi you'd use the wifi module but that would preclude using the C4 zigbee module. But I see what you're saying about whether the wifi bridge paired to the lock's bluetooth would work, then maybe if that works you could plug in the zigbee module and have that work too. If the Yale wifi bridge is compatible with the Assure 2 locks then maybe this would work but I don't think we'll know unless somebody tests it. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I’ve pre ordered the Apple Home Keys version. I’ll know soon if it works with the C4 Zigbee module.
I wish they had a variant with both Apple Home Keys and fingerprint.

Wow these look great - I'm going to be in the market for a new lock soon so I'll probably try the Apple Home Keys version with the C4 module at some point. I'm only guessing of course but I think there's a good chance the C4 module will work with these if we know they work with the other Assure Lock 2s and these are variations of those. Of course we won't know until we try them but here's hoping. Appreciate you flagging these new versions and sending the links!

I did - rather than using the gear like on the old keypads, with the Assure Lock 2 you initiate the pairing using the app

Ah yes, I love it when the deadlock engages while the door is open and then the kids slam the deadbolt into the door frame.

It is not the door relay driver, it's the door autolock driver.
    Door Auto-Lock (OS2.9+)
It requires not only a lock, but also a door contact sensor.  With those two things, it shows door and lock status on a single experience button, and allows you to lock/unlock the door with the experience button.
It's main functionality is to implement longer auto locking, and only auto lock the deadbolt when the door is closed.  You turn off the deadbolt's auto lock functionality, and use this driver instead.
    It's one of my favorites.
    RyanE

Edited to add: It also has a command which enables/disables the auto locking, so you can turn it off for parties or repair people, etc.  It's pretty handy.

Bluesound is another company that makes wireless speakers. While I use a Node (and not a wireless speaker), it has excellent integration with C4. The Pulse M has preset buttons on top (like my Node does).

Correct - with the exception being that if you have a Sonos port or amp in the rack, fed by audio from Control4, you can pipe that audio to Sonos wireless speakers as well.

The Home/House status page should be an out-of-the-box feature, shouldn't require extra programming to build on a case-by-case basis...just like you get with all of the other competitors...and there's a reason.  And that's half the reason that my Control4 clients who use Josh prefer the Josh app over Control4.
RyanE I love you man but you're just making excuses
That said, you do have the ability to easily see if there is any A/V stuff happening simply by seeing if the "3-line House" in the top right is active...so that's part of it.  Now just need some more of that same idea but for lights, shades, locks, etc.
