  1. My Ottawa-based dealer is looking for a A/V & Security installer/programmer. Platforms and manufacturers include KanTech, HikVision, Axis, CDVI, Lutron, Control 4 and Savant and partners, and more. Hit me up or visit https://www.tektam.ca/ if you're looking for work!
  2. Sorry. RF not IR. No wall switch. Propane fire pit. Always-on pilot.
  3. Yes exactly. There is an On/Up and a Off/Down button.
  4. Anyone have integration tips for an IR-compatible fireplace control with 25-step single dial for on/off and flame height? A 5min experiment with a bond bridge led me to believe that I had to send 20+ IR "on" commands to turn the dial all the way up, and the inverse for turning it off. I'm concerned about IR issues (with needing 20+ commands to turn it off) and the fireplace not turning off correctly. Thoughts? Best practices?
  5. If you're already in the Philips Hue ecosystem, then the Philips motion sensor does motion, temperature, and light intensity (lux). The driver seems well supported and the sensors can be found for ~$40. I've used them for this EXACT scenario: when light intensity reaches a certain level then draw the shades. Pretty easy peezy.
  6. Full Halo Remote FW v1.1.1 release notes can be found here: https://www.control4.com/help/c4/interfaces/halo-rn/Content/Intro.htm Enjoy the update folks!
  7. Reach out to @DanITman. He's a wizard that's written a custom driver for programatically clearing the SONOS queue. While not as perfect as having it built into the main Sonos driver, it's really handy and gives you an easy way to clear the queue in C4.
  8. @chopedogg88's comment was a little tongue-in-cheek. People can use whatever network gear they want, but at the end of the day, some will work better than others. These users are simply suggesting to try another AP and see if that works to isolate the issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As for why Control4, a ~1000 person company, didn't use the technology from Apple, a 165,000 person company? Well, it might have something to do with resources, thats a HUGE difference in the number of people working on problems. Apple probably has 1000+ people working on the Apple Watch Ultra alone. As part of that, they have the resources to develop proprietary chipsets, components, and the like, that yield incredible power management savings, outperforming their competitors by surprising margins. Other companies have to purchase chipsets and components "off-the-shelf" to build their gear and thus take a hit on things like power management, computational performance, etc in order to keep R&D costs down. Oh, and Apple SERIOUSLY protects their IP, so ain't nobody using what Apple uses At least that's my best guess?
  9. Best of luck! As a note, the wifi issue is not speculation, but is documented by Control4 and the technical support documentation is available to all dealers via the dealer portal. Your own dealer will be able to confirm that. On a side note, I can confirm the battery drain myself. Saw about 50% drain in 3-4 hours while the remote was off-cradle with multicast enabled. I created a dedicated 2.4Ghz wifi network with multicast disabled and experienced much better battery performance. In fact, I get equivalent or better battery life to our old Neeos, probably due to lack of touch screen and better wifi performance. Speaking of wifi performance... the new wifi chipset is noticeably more stable. Even with a dedicated 2.4Ghz network, the Neeos would constantly have connection issues. But the Halos are rock solid, super snappy and responsive, absolutely no connection issues thus far.
  10. @crash1977mtl you may want to take a look to see if Multicast Enhancement is enabled on your wifi network. If enabled, it causes your network to constantly ping the remotes thus draining their battery. Control4 is aware of the issue. Their recommendation at this time is to disable Multicast Enhancement. Best of luck with troubleshooting! I just unpacked mine and will need to test the Multicast Enhancement as well as I have it enabled for compatibility with other devices.
  11. @IAN1975 if the issue persists you may want to take a look to see if Multicast Enhancement is enabled on your wifi network. If enabled, it causes your network to constantly ping the remotes thus draining their battery. Control4 is aware of the issue. Their recommendation at this time is to disable Multicast Enhancement. Best of luck with your new remote! I just unpacked mine and love it so far!
  12. Hey @Amr! As a fellow heavy Homekit user with 400+ devices between 2 houses, I would HIGHLY recommend taking a look at Controller and Home+ 6. They both include advanced automation controls (they expose automations and sensor parameters unavailable in the Apple's Home app) as well as a life-saving Backup and Restore feature. Everytime I add new iOS devices, perform firmware or iOS upgrades, or add Homekit-compatible devices I make sure to backup my config. It's literally saved me days of work and I've never been unable to restore from a backup. Check it out and best of luck restoring your system! https://controllerforhomekit.com/features/backup-restore/ https://hochgatterer.me/home+/docs/features/backup/
  13. And the new driver works beautifully. Adds support for snapshots, auto stream quality selection, and some new Unifi Protect features (like package detection!)
  14. Gave this an install earlier today and she's working beautifully! Great job @cinegration! Package detection, auto stream quality selection, and snapshot support is amazing.
  15. Cinegration is working on an update for the the Unifi nvr protect/gateway drivers. Stay tuned for more info!
  16. @BWillett This might seem like a silly thing, but a few things to try: - make sure that control4 user has the appropriate user permissions on your unifi console (role: administrator, user type: local user) - reboot your UDMP SE
  17. I spoke too soon. After 4hrs cameras have crapped out, dropped resolution back to medium/low. Bummer!
  18. I can't speak to the live thumbnail, but I can speak to the speed at which cameras load now. When local it's almost instantaneous, no loading spinner at all. This is a huge improvement over the 1-2s load time from before. It feels incredibly responsive. Also, does the new camera proxy support higher resolutions? I just set all my unifi cameras to High resolution and haven't run into any resolution issues in my clients. Maybe the Unifi camera driver devs knew of the changes and already implemented the stream selection updates. I dont know. But my cameras have never performed better! Pinch zooming on a high resolution feed is awesome.
  19. I dont have this problem as my iPads stay on all the time and maintain a constant connection to the controller.
  20. As someone with two homes, running 10+ wall mounted iPads running C4 controlling A/V, lights, shades, HVAC, security, and more, I can say that the iPad app is fairly stable, but that doesn't mean my experience has been flawless. Here's my two cents: expect some issues as C4 can't control all aspects of the iPad experience. I've had bluetooth and wifi issues that are iOS issues that cause connectivity issues on the iPad that is NOT C4's fault, and I just have to wait for Apple to issue fixes. like all software, there are bugs and issues in the C4 iOS app, but it can be difficult to determine if the issue is specific to the iPad app, or if it's a driver issue, or something else. If you can do enough troubleshooting to determine that its an issue with the iOS app, then you can post a bug report. Here is a great post that walks through the best way to post a bug report for the iOS team. For your issue specifically, can you provide some more details: what are you using for lighting controls? C4? Lutron? Please be specific. are you connected to your C4 system locally? or are you remote? can you replicate the issue on your mobile phone using the iOS or android app? or is the issue ONLY on your iPad? "sliders on the app don't always follow a dimming action on the keypad for a given light". can you be more specific? are you sliding a slider on a light fixture on the iPad and you expect it to ramp, a gradual dimming to the set level as opposed to instantly jumping to the level you set on the slider? does your keypad cause the fixture to "ramp" when a button is pressed? if so, then in my experience, the iOS app slider doesn't ramp, but instead jumps the light level to the location set by the user. (C4 if you're listening, the lighting sliders should absolutely ramp according to the ramp levels set in composer)
  21. Not quite zero. I've been running it for 3 years at two houses with 4 AppleTV's at each house. I'm a day 1 updater and we've experienced no issues so far. So we know it works in at least 2 households. lol. But now I'm giving @IntrinsicGroup's iOS 16 AppleTV driver a run and it's working quite well. Love the additional features and functionality it provides including access to the AppleTV Control Panel.
  22. I'll take a peek at the "Move" command and see if that does the trick. Move seems like its labelled to support one use case though. Should it be titled "Long Press" instead? The command is used to do much more than move apps. Also, how does the auto-update work? Is there a setting that needs to be configured? I've still got 20221004 and can't see a way to force an update in Composer.
  23. @IntrinsicGroup Some small feedback: can't figure out if there is long press functionality. without it, we can't access contextual menus. I've had to leave the C4 AppleTV driver active in my home project to enable that feature. We use it to remove items from watch lists, etc.
