  1. Control4 uses there own version of zigbee, so I am not sure that any zigbee protocol will work. I am pretty sure that only control4 zigbee switches will work with c4, but I do like those switches
  2. I hate to say this but control4 stopped selling the red need.
  3. I have the same problem at my own house and also at a customer's house that we installed it at. The customer has all apple products (iPhone and ipads). He is always complaining that the motion alerts hardly ever work and when the doorbell is pushed that is hit or miss too. So then i went home and installed a chime on my own house, and my wife who also has an iPhone too and when pushed , her phone did not go off either. So I thought maybe it is the intercom anywhere . But then my phone, Which is a galaxy s20 did go off. The next day neither of our phones will go off for motions and both our phones sometimes go off when the doorbell is pushed. So is it a chime problem or a c4 app and intercom anywhere problem. Or a composer problem and is control4 aware of this and are they fixing it ?
  4. What about the clare controls new video doorbell v3? I know that the clareone alarm panel integrates right into c4 just by double clicking on it in the discovered tap and that snap one owns control4 and has a small stake in clare controls. You can only buy clareone/clare controls -clare home products from snap one, so I was wondering if the clare video doorbell will integrate. If it doesn't, other than the chime and doorbird and ds2 units, what other video doorbell can integrate into c4? I remember back a couple of years ago all we used to be able to integrate the nest hello doorbell but thanks to Google, that is all shot to hell.
  5. I would recommend the clareone panel by Clare controls! You can self monitor, or in the future have it professionally monitored. You can use all your old sensors and equipment when you use the clareone panel and the wireless to wireless translator/communicator. Or if you have wired sensors then the wireed to wireless translator/communicator. Once the clareone is installed and has an ip addresses, then all you do in composer is double click on it on the left side where it is automatically discovered and that is it. That's a it takes to integrate clareone into c4. It is sold on snap one's website (formaly known as snapav) and is also owner of c4
  6. Yes and yes, you will need your dealer to do this in composer pro. It's a simple text alert notification. Everytime we sell and install a chime for a c4 customer, we program all of this for no additional charge. It is very simple and your dealer will probably not charge either. If for some reason they want to charge you for this, you can always contact me and I can do it remotely for you at no charge. It literally takes 5 min
  7. Well that might be your problem. The router is not usually a poe switch also. I have never seen a poe switch/router in one . I might be wrong but that is probably your problem. Your plugged into the router and expecting to get poe out of it and you won't
  8. Is is your EA3 powered from a poe? If so try connecting Is the regular power to it. Maybe when your router was changed, They changed the switch also.. Kind of need more information like is your router then plugged in to a core switch and then the core switch feeds the EA3? If so is it a managed force which? Maybe the Poe port was shut off for power
  9. I know, I was being sarcastic to make a point that homeowners should not be using dealers programs.
  10. Are you using composer pro or the home edition? I agree with msgreenf, if you have not been properly trained in pro, things go wrong real fast. I had a customer that was a computer programming genius and somehow he got a copy of pro. The system was old and not ok 3.x yet. (That is why he hired us, to upgrade him) after finding out that he was fiddling with an old copy of pro and wanted to know after I upgraded him to 3.x , would I be giving him a copy of the new composer pro? Well that is when my c4 sense went off and was like what? We turned the job down after a long heated discussion with the customer (I stayed calm and professional) but the homeowner was so pissed off and kept saying his last dealer always did this and did that.... so I asked him why he is not using his last dealer then. He then stopped getting all mad and calmly said "well his is out of business now" Hmm wonder why.
  11. Well dam that's not good for me lol. I have tried everything and I mean everything but I must be missing something. Only thing is it just stopped working over night. 1 day it's working fine and then all of the sudden it doesn't, and nothing changed. The only thing I can think of is maybe it stopped after I updated c4 , just not sure now
  12. So is anyone else having trouble with Google home and c4? I have had Google home working for the last year and now everytime I try to use voice control with Google, Google says that control4 is unavailable. So then i tried with alexa and it works fine. So I disconnected the connection with Google and c4 in composer and in Google home and re did the connection and same thing. No go. My insight is up to date, Alexa works fine it's just Google. Anyone else? And does anyone have any suggestions?
  13. So when I first started out doing c4, I thought I was smooth and bought things off of ebay for cheaper. Oh boy did I shoot myself in the foot. Not only did I buy a couple products for myself but also 2 products for a customer. Well 3 of those products failed after 4 months , so not only was I not able to get my money back or any sort of warranty, but then it cost me 3 times as much then finally buying new and making multiple trips back to thw customer. . In my humble new dealer opinion. Just buy new from your dealer. They are giving you a good price
